Hmmmm, gone are the days when you get value for your dollar. I was craving pizza this night after an intense work week and went to yelp to find a pizzeria with good pizza! Interestingly enough, I noticed how much more expensive pizza places had gotten. I ended up going with Shopey's partial because cost looked lower and it was a close pick up spot. The small pizza looked pretty big in the photo but this was not reality. For $15, it was super small. How did it taste? I mean, it was good. Nothing over the top but better than some I've had out here and not as good as others. The Caesar salad was also kind of odd. A traditional Caesar salad is all romaine lettuce, which gives it a nice crunchy texture, but mine was half spring mix and half romaine. The dressing was tasty though but I was disappointed that it wasn't all romaine lettuce. May seem like a small detail but that's just what I was expecting when I ordered the Caesar salad. Overall, it was a decent pie. If you're feeding a large family and looking to save money, you'll probably want to go with Papa John's or another chain pizza place because for the price you don't get a lot. If you don't care about shelling out the extra cash for less food then give 'em a go. Also, I think you still get reasonable priced pizza at Mici's. Thats usually my go to place but I wanted to try something different. I think what was disheartening about this entire experience is it made me realize that gone are the days when pizza was an affordable way to get a quick meal when you don't feel like cooking for yourself. For the record, I'm not against paying $15 for a pie, but like I said earlier, the value you wasn't there. It was such a small pie for the money. One thing I do love about this place is the vibe. I grew up in northern New Jersey and it reminds of the pizzerias that I'd go to as a kid. I mean there's one on every corner out there. The menu looks good too and I'll go back for the pepperoni rolls next. I acknowledge times are financially tight these days for everyone too, but it also makes me sad that we maybe seeing the collapse of eating out because prices are getting so high. I've been visiting Louisville for years and had no idea this hidden gem existed. My sister placed an order and I went to pick it up for us. When I walked in I was greeted by the staff and immediately saw the trays of garlic knots which is my weakness. So after confirming what our order was I added some of the pesto garlic knots. 1. Those knots were AMAZING 2. The pizza was scarfed down 3. Salad disappeared 4. Loved their signs in the restaurant I dropped 1 start for my little itty bitt complaint, which I hate to do, but it would have been a good idea to place the garlic knots package in a bag. Unfortunately when we placed the food in our trunk, the short ride back home caused the package to flip and all the oil spilled in our car (the clean up while it smelled delicious was not ideal). Definitely will be back for more knots, honestly I could skip pizza and just eat knots for days. read more

We had take-out from Shopey's last night -- 2 pizzas, caesar salad and a calzone. Delicious, hot and freshly made. No mistakes on the order. The salad had a variety of greens and all was garden fresh. The pizza dough and calzone dough was baked crisp on the outside and great tasting. There was a good ratio of toppings to crust. This restaurant is a neighborhood winner. read more

Windsor Location: Delicious! We were greeted by staff immediately and they were friendly and personable. Love that they previewed our pizzas for us and confirmed our order before we paid and left. Ordered the BBQ chicken and Meat Trio pizzas, as well as the pepperoni rolls. They didn't skimp on the meat on either pizza. Sometimes BBQ can be overpowering on a pizza, this was just enough to have the flavor but still taste everything else. Flavors in the homemade sausage and meatballs were spot on and made the pizza. Pepp rolls were cheesy, soft and so delish. Will definitely be returning! read more

Service with a smile? Jessica was an absolute peach. I love how she smiles in your face while being completely sarcastic, condescending and rude. I remember when I used to manage a pizza place, when people asked how long I would simply say, "less than 15 min".....instead, I got from the lovely Jessica, "I can't tell you that, did you hear him say a time?" or something along the lines of that. To answer your question, no. I didn't hear what he said because it's your job to tell me. I'm not YOUR employee and hearing the way you were talking to them I feel bad for every single one. Shopey's pizza can at first be a hard place to spot but this is because it's pizza is a hidden gem. I got a veggie pizza and with each bite I could taste the freshness of the ingredients used in its creation. The pizza is light, yet it has an excellent crust that holds it all together. The sauce on the pizza complimented the ingredients and didn't over power anything. The olives on the veggie pizza we so fresh they gave a burst of flavor with each bite. If you got to Shopey's the entrance is around back in the parking area of the address listed. I just moved to the area and have now found my pizza spot!! read more

Shopey's has great food. The only problem we have is there is not a kids menu. We go out at least once a week to dinner in Windsor. We have a 3 year old who dines with us. We have to share a meal with him. read more

Our last day together was spent all three sharing the restroom. We reached out and the owner never returned our call. There is so many good restaurants in Louisville. I just tried their Chorizo Pineapple pizza; not what I expected. Normally a restaurant would do it with a red sauce with huge chunks of sweet pineapple. These guys do it with a combination of white cheeses, spices, and a smaller chunks of sausage and Pineapple. Back-door take-out, nothing fancy, but dang, when you crave a great pizza or calzone and fresh salad, these guys rock. read more
