Great place to eat after a day of being on the mountain! We had a group of 8 and were able to be seated right away. Our server was very friendly and fast! Cold beers, great shareable appetizers, and kids plates that were hearty! What more can you ask for?! My favorite was their calamari. The beer is good, but you can't choose your own flights, they are preselected. They seat you quickly and are very attentive to customers. Even for groups of 9 people they were great,filling French dips, giant great tasting Ruben's, incredible garlic fries and a very smooth porter among others at our table that were thoroughly satisfied with our meal and service. 1st time trying this place. Sat outside on a beautiful 71 degree day. Service was 2.5 out of 5 rating. Noticed many people asking where the waitress was so they could paid their bill. Everyone had to hunt a server down to get drink refills, etc. Not sure what's up with that. Food was subpar. Very disappointing. Fish and chips was a 1.75 out of 5 IMO. Fries were horrible. Tasted frozen, or old and hard. They brought new fries and a bit better. Their ketchup was a combo sauce. Strange. AG. Ketchup with huckleberry mix? Yuck. Probably won't be back. Really dig this place. I've only been there on weekends so it has been very crowded. Expect a wait! Once you get behind that, the food is great. I'm so addicted to their Blue Porter Ale salad that I've never ordered anything else. However, I have tried other's food at the table and everything is top notch. Highly recommend. read more

We ordered takeout tonight 4/23/2021. A turkey wrap on a GLUTEN FREE TORTILLA. I specifically asked for the GF tortilla, twice. So I eat the wrap...it's not gluten free. I can feel it in my stomach. So I call MickDuffs and ask them if it was GF or not - they confirm that it was in fact not GF. The person on the other end of the phone offered a very standard and monotoned apology, offered to refund my order - gave me quite an attitude about it - and here's the kicker - she told me she "wished I would have called and made sure before I ate my food" why on earth would I have to call and make sure when the two options are "wheat bread" or "GF tortilla". See attached photo from their own menu + I ASKED for the GF tortilla 2x when placing my order. I have celiacs so I ended up MAKING myself throw up the food to avoid going to the hospital....and the night is young....I still may have to go. Consuming gluten can be life threatening for people who have celiacs. How dare MickDuff's act like it's not big deal. Stay away if you have food allergies because they give 0 fucks if you get sick. Screw this place and their sub par food & shitty attitudes. They MORE than deserve this awful review! I'm going to be sick for weeks because of their negligence and they couldn't care less. So if it's been a while since you've visited, I highly suggest you come again. They have moved to a new but nearby location in a historic building! There is tons of open space, great lighting, and pleasant atmosphere. I can't wait until warmer weather to take advantage of their nice outside seating area. Odd to note but I found the women's restroom thoughtfully planned and clever use of spaces. There's a room for baby care that used to be the old vault, another room that's a fully self-contained bathroom for those who are a bit public shy, and stalls where you can actually walk into and not touch the toilet behind you as you close the door or huge gaps to peer through! Refreshing! The only complaint is no hot water to wash your hands. I did let it run for a while, even tried switching valves in case it was reversed, no luck. We have been here a couple of times now and it has been steady if not busy the entire time...unlike the old location, there is room to wait if need be. Service is a bit on the slow side but I personally don't like the feeling of being rushed to order, eat, and pay. Have a craft beer while deciding and let your wait staff get caught up so they can focus on you when the time comes. Most everything I've seen come out of this kitchen looks delicious! The only disappointing thing I've had personally was the skinny or shoestring fries that accompany the burgers. There were so many little tid bits and ends it made them frusterating to eat. Also...they are aweful warmed up in an air fryer the next day, unless you liked those crunchy shoestring potatoes that came in a can (who remembers those?). I suggest paying the upgrade for the waffle cut gorgonzola fries (yummy!) or try the onion rings. The salads and veggies used for sides actually have flavor and are so fresh tasting. We ordered Banh Mi rice bowl and the Western Stack Burger. We received the correct burger but in place of the Banh Mi, received the Yellow Chicken Curry. No big deal as it was very good and we were not dissatisfied. I also had a whole conversation with our server about substituting the cole slaw with the street corn salad that comes with the burger and instructed to please put the onion rings that come on the burger off to the side as I can never seem to take that big of a bite. Instead, I got a side of onion rings, on top of the side of onion rings we already ordered. They made it right by just giving me the side of corn salad and we ended up with plenty of onion rings to take home. It does seem the kitchen staff/server staff need to tweak their communication system a bit more. Overall, very pleased with the quality of food and selection. We will be excited to revisit when things get ironed out a bit more with the way things are run. Then perhaps it will warrant a 5 star. These things take time. read more

We just attended a 77th Birthday celebration of a dear friend this week. They were able to accommodate all of us in The Signing Room and we enjoyed the privacy. But most of all their food was wonderful! The Cheddar Beer soup was crazy good. Out waitress was just wonderful and treated all of us so patient and kind. I would recommend MickDuffs anytime! Haven't been to MickDuff's for a few years and decided to give them another try when I heard that they moved to a new location. I really like the new location. It is in what used to be the library. A really beautiful building. It's just a few blocks away from the old location. Gone is the old dive bar feeling, which I kind of miss, but just a little. They really made the new location unique and inviting. The beer surprised me. I had a sample tray and liked everything I tried. Not sure what has changed, but whatever it is, I hope they keep doing it. All the different styles I tried were well done. Food was good. Excellent burgers and the beer cheese soup was outstanding. Service was good. There can be wait for seating, mostly due to distancing for Covid. We were able to snag a seat at what they called the beer pit. We could look down on some of the brewing equipment. I'll be honest, we stopped going here for a while after they moved to the big location, only because the wait was so long! Which obviously means people like them. I finally figured out when to go so you don't have such a wait (and by the way, don't be discouraged because usually they'll tell you it's longer than it actually ends up being)...4pm is a great time lol. Anyway, I've had several dishes here, and I really like that you can choose from lighter fare like their soups and salads, or medium like the rice bowls, or heavy like the blue cheese criss-cross fries or burgers (and I love their hand-cut fries as well.) Service has always been prompt and friendly. The beer selection is excellent and as a pregnant lady I'm happy to say they have non-alcoholic as well. We almost past this place in the dark and glad we didn't. We got seated right away. The place was packed but later we realized that multiple tables were used for a party with around 20 people. Service was fantastic. My husband's fish and chips were great at a great price. My soup and salad was good except the salad had little flavor. Small, chopped tomatoes were used that all made their way to the bottom of the plate because they were too small to fork into. I only wish they were bigger and maybe a bit of cheese on it. I ordered the turkey wrap and it was disappointing: the tortilla was not flexible and torn, iceberg lettuce, barely any avocado, and the turkey was dry. The beer cheese soup was very good. Meh. I used to love MickDuff's (and still want to) but they were a bit of a disappointment on our most recent visit. We visit Priest River each year and always make day trip to Sandpoint with a specific stop at MickDuff's as a tradition. This year, we chose MD's to be our lunch spot and probably will not in the future. 4 of us (out of 6) ordered the salmon sandwich and barely had enough salmon in each of them to make for half of the roll. We also spent about $11 extra in fries (the Gorgonzola garlic + waffle fries) and ALL of them were bad-- chewy and just not how they should have tasted if they were fresh. The two others two ordered the chicken sandwich said they were REALLY good. A good hunk of chicken and it was moist and tasty. The one person that got regular fries said they were good as well. The beer I ordered was cold and delicious too. We told the waitress about the fries just as a heads up, and she apologized and even offered to take the extra $11 in charges for fry upgrades off the bill which we really appreciated. We did not mind paying for good dry upgrades but when they are worse than the regular fries it seems silly so that was very nice of the waitress. Overall, for only coming into town once a year and making a specific stop at MD's, this was a pretty lacking experience. We may give it another try but we will see! Oohhh, such a great burger! The western burger, your typical burger w/bbq sauce, onion rings and bacon. Really hit the spot, and loved the crispy, salty, tasty potato chips! Great bar/beer pub style atmosphere. We sat directly at the bar counter and were greeted immediately. Staff was pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. This is a type of resort town, busier season during summertime or if they get a lot of snow. We found the sweet spot of not too busy time in December, right before noon. Beers are great, ciders are crisp n light. Cant wait to return for a fabulous burger! read more

Atmosphere - Quite friendly and exciting, very active like any restaurant setting and usually quite busy. Due to the popularity of Mick Duff's most parties will most likely have to wait before being seated. I recommend making a reservation beforehand! Service - Most workers are very amiable, but I have had a couple questionable moments with servers and a hostess. However, the service has been quite helpful when needed, for instance, when I needed to wait for a table with my party, I was able to give my phone number and walk around the surrounding area while waiting. Then I got a text when the table was ready, and I was able to text back when I was on my way! Food - The food is great! I had the Tiki Burger with fries and I was very pleased with it. It was a very unique yet enjoyable burger. As for the rest of my party I heard no complaints with what everyone ordered. I'm not able to drink yet, but with Mick Duff's being a brewery there are many quality selections which seem to be heavily enjoyed by the public! Price - As for price, most meals tend to lean on the more expensive side. Most food orders range from $12 to $20 not including sides and drinks. So I'd say to watch what you purchase as it would be easy to rack up a large bill. But other than that I would say you get what you pay for. Experience - After coming here multiple times, I can say that I've still had an exceptional time even at Mick Duff's new location.
