I haven't been to Mick's in a little over a year and tonight I remembered why. The service was absolutely horrendous. I waited 20mins just to place a food order and after over an hour I still did not have my food. My fiancé got her food first while I waited for my pizza which came out AFTER she was done eating. After waiting 20 more minutes (yes thats not an exaggeration) my pizza arrived and it wasnt good. I could have had Jet's delivered to Mick's before I got my pizza, and I probably should have. Ownership should be embarrassed by their inability to staff their bar and there wasn't a sign of the owner helping out. The bartender gave us shots for our wait but we wanted our food not more alcohol, so those went to waste. I will probably never step foot in Mick's again what a complete embarrassment. read more

A large step above average Bar Food. Delicious cracker crust pizzas with a good selection of available topping. Great bar burgers and Fish Tacos! My personal favorite is the shrimp/shrimp cocktail. Firm, white and fresh (for Detroit) shrimp that rivals any fancy restaurant! Fish and chips are above average with hand dipped cod tenderloins. Available to get Mac and Cheese instead of fries if desired. It was the worst. It took so long get our food and then it came one at a time. I ordered fried .mushroom and they did not even tell me that they were out of them. My wife and I have been coming here for awhile & have usually had a pretty good experience. The food is good, drinks are cold, and the staff is *usually* pretty attentive. Not bad but not phenomenal, either. My wife and I went there for burgers last night. Our waitress informed us that it was taco Tuesday and that they were on special. We told her that we were interested in burgers & she immediately asked what we wanted. No menus were given to us. We ordered 2 burgers - one with fries and the other with onion rings, and 2 beers. The food came out pretty quickly and everything tasted great. Then we got the bill........ $42!!!!! The burgers were $9/per and they don't come with sides. The fries were $3.99 and the onion rings were $7.99!!!!! The helping of fries was decent but I literally got 6-7 onion rings. THEY'RE CHARGING MORE THAN $1/ONION RING!!!! As soon as I saw that I went up to the bar to ask the waitress about it, thinking it was a mistake. She seemed put out that I asked about the price, immediately grabbed a menu, slapped it down on the bar, and pointed at the price. That's all good and great but it would have been even better if WE'D HAVE BEEN GIVEN MENUS so I could have seen the prices. Lesson learned, if we go back we'll just be ordering drinks. We come here often during the winter months because we bowl next door..early league..on Fridays. LOVE the fish dinners. Tonight was a total sh!tshow. We were a party of 6. Each couple showed up separately, placed our orders separately...yet we were given one bill! WTF!! We then asked her to split them up...this took an HOUR! When we got here it was small but it was very cozy place, not very loud. The waitress instantly took our drink order and when we were ready she was available for our food order. When u order a beer here they don't mess around and u get it in a big mug. I ordered Fish tacos, clam of chowder, and hush puppies. i'm very sorry to see this and I know it's the festival this weekend but we waited over an hour for a hamburger and a lettuce wrap then the lady at the bar argue with me and told me that she told me it was gonna be 45 minutes, which was a direct lie the people came in after us got their food before we did and she told me that they were there before us. I watched him walk in. It's a great corner bar. The great place to have a drink but the wait staff sucks at least today ended and we did just leave our food there. The wife and I popped in for dinner, not very crowded for a Friday night. I ordered a burger and the wife ordered the cod dinner. The wait for dinner was a bit long, no big deal until my burger hit the table about 10 minutes before my wife's meal. On top of that my MR burger was MW. During the wait I had three beers, each one ran dry without a server asking if I needed another. My wife's drink also ran dry without notice. Live in the Neighborhood and Friday was the first time me and my family stopped in. We know the owner & his family and were informed about the bar, and it was great food & good times. We had the perch dinners and fish tacos, both were amazing! You get so much food for the money & its nice to have a fried piece of fish that is not all batter & greasy. This place has been there for years and really needed updating. Well, a new owner came in and did just that. The place is clean & bright. Although limited by the size of the kitchen, the food is really good. I've had the burger (The Mick) 3 times and it was excellent. The Fish & Chips is also really good made with real cod, not some cheaper fish ! I'm going back again tonight for more. The staff is also friendly & attentive. Tried to go in during the week last month and was turned away because I had my 10 and 11 year old children with me. They said that they needed to be 18 or over after 9. Btw there were 3 other people in the bar. Went in tonight with my 19 year old daughter, they asked if she was over 18. Then was told that she needed to be 21 to be in the bar after 9. I wish I could give this place 0 stars because they don't even deserve 1. I watched my waitress take a shot at the bar instead of waiting on our table and the others around us. The food took over an hour and a half to get to us. We were asked if we needed anything by our waitress one time when we were sat and we were never helped again. I use to be a waitress and I have leniency for a lot, but this was honestly the worst service I have ever received.
