This was our first time at Major Biddles! The food was worth the trip for me. The place was not as pleasant. The bathroom lights weren't working in the women's room for 1. Then sitting us on the patio instead of indoors was the second issue. The Greek Chicken Pasta was seriously one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had! Delicious feta with loads of chicken, feta with tomatoes and Kalamazoo olives. I have never had a pasta dish like this before. I would return to savor this dish again! read more

Friday dinner. Super nice people except for an errant young hostess who got very aggressive about taking a menu we were saving in order to get a to go order. Not nice about it at all. When you piss my laid back husband off you have definitely gone wayyy wrong. Our server was amazing though. Efficient and Uber friendly. We got our food quickly and piping hot, drink refills before needed. She was charming everyone in the room I think. Everyone seemed in a good mood. The food was nice. We especially likes our Cuban egg roll app. Stuffed full of meat, they had terrific flavor and were filling to boot. Made my husband thank about getting the sandwich next time. He had barbecued shrimp this time. Excellent bbq sauce. His sides of choice were really tasty vodka sauced pasta and just okay cheesy potatoes. I went with the piccata style perch which had great flavor, a perfectly done huge baked potato and a wreck of the loaded up brussels. The Brussels may do it for some but they were a no bueno flavor mess to me. Yikes. When I was nearly finished I got a big old bite of bone in my perch. The manager stopped by and was appropriately concerned, super apologetic. Offered us all kinds of freebies. I assured her it was not necessary. I truly enjoyed my meal there. I was stuffed and satisfied. We took prime rib melts to my parents and they were happy. Overall a nice food night. We will return. read more

Every time I come to my home town I always look for frog legs. These are the some of the best ever! The batter is perfectly crisp and the fries are definitely above average. Our server was terrific too! We sat at the bar and she was the friendly professional you enjoy chatting with. read more

I have come to this restaurant many times now and I have always had a very nice experience. Normally it's to meet some friends for a drink and app, but on a couple of occasions I have come in for their brunch it has been fantastic. Walking in, there is a great combination of cozy and modern and a lot of room throughout the restaurant. Indoor? Yes. Bar Area? Yes. Covered patio? yes. Outdoor covered patio? Yes. They have it all, you just decide what you want your environment to be. Secondly the staff has always been friendly, accurate and wonderful. As with all restaurants, there is a shortage of staff so food is delivered a bit slower, especially during busy times, but doesn't change the fact they are very attentive. Food and drinks are offered in a wide variety. The menu is quite extensive and even [ribbit] includes [ribbit] frog legs!! I can't remember the last time I saw that on a menu around here. I am a breakfast/brunch guy and I really have enjoyed their offerings. I do wish the Chicken and Waffles actually came with whole fried chicken as opposed pieces, but incorporating the peppers kind of makes up for it. We finally dined at Major Biddles in Wyandotte. It's a super cute establishment located on Jefferson almost to Southfield Rd. It was cozy, we sat in the bar area. The service was excellent. We ordered a couple appetizers; the meatballs & garlic bread, poutine. Both were amazing! The poutine was served with sidewinder fries, the perfect touch. I chose a wedge salad for dinner with a side of Mac n cheese & jacked up Brussel sprouts. The portions were huge, I had to take most of it home with me. Everything was made to perfection! Not Bad but... I stopped into Major Biddles while in the area for business and looking for a good place to eat. This Local Spot for American Traditional, BBQ and Seafood, had good reviews so I decided to give it shot. I went in and started walking around looking for a place to eat and taking some photos of the place. I was accosted by one of the managers who wondered why I was walking around taking pictures. After a short chat and explaining that I was a food blogger and Yelp Elite, we then had a nice conversation about the place and the food. I sat in the bar area and decided on a couple of appetizers and then the Perch Piccata for my main course. Hot rolls came out first and they were very fresh and delicious. I started my meal off with the tender and juicy Cajun Steak tips made with tenderloin tips, mushrooms, and cajun zip and served with pita bread. I was just starting to enjoy my steak tips when the Piccata and my second app, the Jacked-up Sprouts came out pretty much all at the same time. Suddenly I was inundated with food with no break or pause between everything I ordered. This was a 'Major' timing issue as I had a massive amount of food all served at once. I was able to try a little of everything before I got full. My server asked me if I wanted to reheat my Piccata but that would have just made it mushy and unappetizing. When a diner comes in alone and tells the staff they are in no rush, it's simple, just fire the next course when they are done with the one before it. On this visit, it was simply a timing issue which threw me off. I liked the place and food overall, but one star was lost due to how the food was served. I would go back again if not just to try the barbecue which I saw many of the guests ordering. Hopefully, they get the timing right next time. read more

Major biddle has an amazing atmosphere, everyone that worked there was extremely nice. My waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu. The food was pretty good overall it was a certain taste in the Caesar wrap I didn't care for I couldn't figure out what exactly it was but it was still eatable. My guest enjoyed his meal, the steak tips were good and had good temperature and texture. Overall I want to go back to try more of their food they do have a large selection of food and they also serve brunch on the weekends I want to try that. But check them out whenever in the downriver area. read more

This is a fun, great brunch spot. Came here with a group of 8 gfs for bday celebration during a Lions game (we had a reservation - happy to say because they were slammed), and we all loved the menu options and it was delicious (highly recommend the lobster eggs benedict) ! The drinks were good too; took a bit long because of how packed it was but our server made sure to get them out asap and She was super attentive. Went for dinner with family and enjoyed the huge pretzel for an appetizer. Definitely was enough for 4 of us and we got a side of spicy cheese and another side of regular cheese. Also ordered the BBQ Cuban wrap which I thought was too overpowering with BBQ and a bit messy but still not bad. The server was helpful although our drinks took a while at the beginning. Tonight 2/28 I dined at my favorite restaurant in Wyandotte. Started with a shareable (Bruschetta) to call this bruschetta is a crime! Cut up dinner rolls with a side dish of salsa. No cheese, no balsamic glaze it certainly was severely underwhelming. I would never recommend this! For dinner... we placed our order at 7:40pm when my dining partner arrived. We were served at 8:35!!! A small salad and a weekend special of Marry Me chicken. Yes it was a little busy however tables that sat after us turned over and the new customers were eating! The chicken was ok nothing special and the salad well it's a salad. Probably the worst service I've ever had here. I'll be back but if this happens again I'll look elsewhere and stop recommending Major Biddle. read more

Stopped in on a Thursday evening to try Major Biddle's. We were very happy with our service and the food! Abigail was a fantastic server! I had the blackened catfish which was excellent; good heat and great flavor. Side of balsamic Brussel sprouts were very good as well. Wife had the Greek chicken and loved it. The setting in this restaurant is pretty cool. It's nice and warm and the booths give you a little privacy. Two appetizers I recommend is their sample platter which had the Cuban egg rolls. My 80-something year old mother heard about Major Biddles a few months ago and she's eaten here before. We decided to have lunch here today. The menu is a bit overwhelming, they have a LOT of options. If you can't find something to eat here, I'd be surprised! There is something for every diet preference in the menu. It was pretty busy but everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the food prep people tending the salad and seafood bar, to the chef were all very friendly and accommodating. I had a bowl of French onion soup which was good. There were a lot of herbs giving it a distinct flavor. My mom had the southwest chicken chowder, she loved it. For lunch, I ordered the Lemon Feta Chicken rice bowl. It has a little mango salsa on it. There was so much chicken in this dish. Almost 4 breasts. It was so much better than I anticipated! I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. It had a pronounced lemon flavor, but the mango salsa and the savory rice with broth balanced it out perfectly. My mother had a prime rib sandwich. She is super picky about her prime rib and only wanted the sandwich if it was rare prime rib. Chef said the best he could do was medium rare so she went for it. It was very good quality meat and she enjoyed the sandwich very much. I also had to laugh because I was surprised to see so many cute little old ladies in the restaurant. My kids swear they have the best French fries. Seasoned spiral cut fries are super tasty but it's always their specials that I'm impressed by. They often have themed specials for holidays, fantastic brunch and may be the last place on earth still serving a buffet multiple times a week. (I don't do the buffet bit, but it's always busy!) Fajitas are terrific and my favorite is their wedge salad... sounds simple but they really do it right! Outdoor seating in the summer and decent sized booths for bigger families like ours. read more
