The Bohemian Breakfast (has several options)
Toni V.

Mico is a restaurant in The Grand Bohemian Hotel, where I stayed for a night in Charlotte, NC. The restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent and the ambiance was hybrid, relaxed, casual, fancy. I had the Bohemian Breakfast, in which you choose egg style, 3 choices of meat, 3 choices of potatoes or you can sub fruit for the potatoes, and a delicious latte which topped off a great meal. My favorite part was the live entertainment, for breakfast! What a great surprise and the two musicians were excellent.

I had my birthday dinner here, it was amazing! My server made me feel special and she knew her stuff!

So nice! We were a bit early for our 5:15 reservation, and they did have us wait until nearly the time. I would absolutely recommend making a reservation though, even for an early time. The decor is beautiful and I love the idea of the slightly open kitchen. Our server was wonderful. Very attentive, very kind. Everything we ordered was amazing - but the stand out was the octopus appetizer. Perfectly cooked, not too chewy, and the sauce was amazing. We actually had an issue with one of the meals- they brought out the chicken paella instead of the scallops. They fixed the mistake pretty quickly, but it did make us have to wait a bit! This is absolutely a must try for a fancier dinner!

What a beautiful restaurant with an open kitchen. The detail in the decor is absolutely stunning! I ate here a few times while staying for a work trip. The bar team, Nilson made great cocktails and very friendly. The servers, Kallie, Mirtha, Ashley and Tanner took great care of me while I was there and made great recommendations. Christina their director has great taste in wine and I enjoyed flipping through their wine book. They offer a really cool high altitude Malbec wine flight which was very fitting for their "theme." I thoroughly enjoyed the food for lunch and dinner. The pull apart Pan de queso was delicious, whole branzino and paella was all great. The chefs do a great job here and I look forward to coming back!

I was looking for a nice spot for date night, and I found just the one! The interior is beautiful, modern and elegant and a little maximalist. Juan was our server and he was great! The menu had a lot of great options on it. We started with drinks and I believe I got the signature cocktail which was the perfect choice. We got some steak skewers as an appetizer and Juan even brought us out a small bite-sized starter from the chef which was delicious! We had trouble deciding between lots of delicious options on the menu, although we settled on the scallops and steak which were both cooked well and we're complimented with tasty greens. We couldn't pass up dessert either! I was excited to see that they had dessert wine recommended as a pairing so we got one of those as well as two desserts that were both creatively and beautifully plated! I would definitely recommend and would be excited to return!

Beautiful space located in the Bohemian Hotel in Charlotte. I was there to celebrate a birthday and even though we had a group of 8 the service did not fail us. Our server was attentive, explained the menu in detail and even extended the restaurant week menu to us which was a plus. The food - amazing! I had the lobster bisque which was seasoned well and the full of lobster. My main course was paella with shrimp. The portion was perfect and the shrimp was well prepared. My last drink was a French 76 that I absolutely loved. I'd definitely come back to experience other items on the menu. Lovely experience!

I stopped by Mico's for brunch while staying at The Grand Bohemian, and let's just say-the aesthetics and overall vibe are truly one of a kind. They had love music featuring an electric guitarist and a violinist, delivering incredible jams that elevated the entire experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and while the Bohemian Breakfast was simple, it was absolutely delicious. I opted in for the homemade biscuit with house-made mixed berry jam, and it did not disappoint-so good. If you're in the mood for brunch, this spot is definitely worth a visit. There's so much to enjoy beyond just the cool vibes. Until next time.

Well let me say this. The food at this place was absolutely amazing. We had the 20 oz ribeye and the whole oak grilled Branzino. She had a mocktail I had a glass of wine with a side of sauteed mushrooms and collard greens. We also ordered the special appetizer oyster witch was delicious. They were topped with caviar and bacon. We also split the apple bread pudding for dessert. I got the chimichurri seasoning with the ribeye and I ordered it medium rare. They cooked it perfectly. Just wish it was a little bit hotter when it came out. The bill came to about $200 before tip. The environment was very posh. They had a best wine selection and they also have a private room on the side. Now as far as the service goes I think they were short staffed. From the time we walked in until the time we got our food it was about a good hour 20 minutes. Yes I'm sure everything is made to order but I think they were short of staff so it took a little bit longer to get our food. I think this restaurant also does room service for the hotel so it may also contribute to the reason. We will be returning to this spot because the food was that good.

Beautifully decorated thru entire restaurant.. Horace our waiter was best...very jovial & helpful... I went light with healthy honey whipped yogurt ...she had egg white fritters Spanish chorrizo.sweety drop peppers& breakfast potatoes.. He had French toast. Food & service was impeccable!!

Came here for my birthday brunch and of course, Mico did not disappoint. They always roll out the royal brunch treatment. Perfect Eggs Benedict, ice-cold mimosas, and just when you think it couldn't get better... boom. Birthday churro-donuts. From the service, to the immaculately decorated space, Mico truly knows how to make a birthday princess feel like a birthday Queen.

Celebrated a birthday dinner here with two friends. Everything was delicious from the drinks to the food! We did have an issue with some of the water glasses, but it was quickly noticed and handled before we could even mention it. Our waitress was great! She answered all of our questions and made recommendations that made for a good dining experience.

My sister celebrated her 39th birthday this past Saturday at Mico's. It was dinner for 5 people and we got there around 8pm for an 8:30pm reservation. We parked with valet for $28, which I thought was quite steep but the guys were pleasant and helpful. We checked in with the lovely hostess who had such a warm smile on her face. She even obliged in taking pictures of us. Shortly after, we headed to the dining room to be seated. The restaurant wasn't too busy for a Saturday evening so it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. Our waitress came over and provided us with some menus and took our drink orders. I settled on hot green tea with lemon and honey. My sister and cousins got specialized cocktails/mocktails that were not on the menu. For our meal, my sister got the veggie paella, my cousins had the salmon and chips & dip, and I had sweet plantains and the truffle mushrooms. The mushrooms were so delicious, as were the plantains. I wasn't hungry so I opted for side dishes. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the menu was priced moderately. The ambiance of the restaurant is also captivating. The lit up bar leading into the kitchen, the open space concept in the dining area, and the private dining room all add to the simplicity, yet uniqueness of the space.

We had reservations but it wasn't overly busy so I don't think they were necessary for that day and time but I would definitely recommend on busier times. I love the fact that this is more of a tapas style restaurant so you can order and taste a ton of options. Plates are generally around $14-22 per plate and they have enough for three or four (tapas style). We started with crab dip and oysters on the half shell (raw). The crab dip was rich and creamy and served with buttered crusty, buttered bread. The oysters were amazing too but a little nuance about these: they are listed by region (e.g. West Coast, Mid-Atlantic, etc.) and not listed as they type of oyster. Oysters vary greatly within a single region so I would encourage you to ask what specific oysters they serve for each region (they will look it up and tell you) to make sure you know what you are getting. We also ordered the calamari, small salad (unlisted option for the salad listed on the menu) and poke bowl to share. We went in hungry and probably ordered too much because this was all to start off. Everything was really good and worth ordering. For my "entree" or ordered the trout which comes with lentils and broccolini. This dish was fantastic and highly recommended. The trout was perfectly cooked and delicious. Our waitress, Tiffany, was amazing and did a great job. Additionally, this is the perfect spot for a "dinner and a show" since it is right beside the Knight theater. Parking is easily accessible at the Green Garage right across the street.

This restaurant is very nicely designed. It's visually appealing with tables indoors, a bar area, and an outside dining area. The hostess and my server were professional and extremely nice and made my dining experience very pleasant. The reason I am giving three stars instead of four or more comes down to value. Seafood is expensive, I get that. But I don't know that there's much value to be had here. Portion sizes are small relative to what you're paying for. And in my opinion, while the freshness and the quality of the seafood may be there, the flavor is not. I have no doubt that the quality of the seafood here is good. But I did not enjoy anything I ordered. I wasn't put off by the food, but I wish I had wanted to savor each bit. I ordered the cajun grilled oysters and the miso sablefish. I thought both were too salty and despite paying over $40 for the meal, I left still a bit hungry.

Both the food and dessert menus are winners. I ordered the stuffed dates, cordero asado, and knafeh cheesecake--all well prepared. While the dates could have been prepared more juicy and softer, the peanut muhammara was pure genius and a delightful enhancement. The cordero would be even more perfect if paired with a side of bread or pita to soak up the savory jus. The cheesecake proved a scrumptious finale--definitely enjoy it with a latte or cappuccino. Review for Brown Bag Seafood Co…read more This was my first introduction to Brown Bag Seafood Co., and since we don't have this concept back in Northern California, I was definitely curious to try it. As someone who grew up around incredible seafood in the Bay Area -- places like Sam's Chowder House and New England Fish Company -- my expectations were naturally a little high. When you're close to the coast, the bar for seafood is set pretty high. That said, this is a very simple, fast-casual seafood concept, and they execute that model consistently. I've now visited a few locations -- one in Huntersville, one that used to be in South End on Worthington, and this Uptown location on Tryon -- and they all share the same strengths: * Clean, well-organized spaces * Nice outdoor seating * Convenient locations in walkable, high-traffic areas * Fast, efficient service The menu is straightforward but flexible. You can build your meal in a lot of different ways -- dress it up, keep it light, or customize it to your taste -- which is a big plus. Food-wise, it's good... just not memorable. The lobster roll, for me, was a little on the greasy side. I tend to prefer a lighter preparation. The tacos, on the other hand, were a better fit -- fresh, flavorful, and a bit easier to enjoy. Overall, the food is solid, but it hasn't quite become my first choice when I'm craving seafood. Value-wise, prices are reasonable for the concept, and the experience is reliable. It's a dependable option when you're downtown, short on time, or looking for a quick seafood fix. Bottom line: Clean, convenient, and consistent -- but not destination dining for me. Still, it's worth trying at least once to see how it fits your taste. Charlotte -- be curious and get out there and eat your way through this city. There's something for every palate.
