I had the Bohemian Breakfast, in which you choose egg style, 3 choices of meat, 3 choices of potatoes or you can sub fruit for the potatoes, and a delicious latte which topped off a great meal. The restaurant itself was very nice. The ambiance was enjoyable, our waitress was friendly and attentive and the lobster bisque was absolutely delicious. My husband and daughter both enjoyed their steaks and had no complaints about their meals. Unfortunately, my experience was quite different. I ordered the scallops. After taking a few bites of the first one, I noticed something tasted off but initially thought it might just be me. I cut into a second scallop and while the first taste seemed normal, the more I chewed it, the stronger a chemical-like flavor became. The only way I could describe it was that it tasted like cleaning products. When I mentioned it to our waitress, she immediately asked if it tasted like ammonia. I said yes, exactly. She told me that sometimes this happens but assured me it wasn't because the scallops were bad. She offered to replace my meal and suggested lamb, which I don't eat, so i choose the chicken dish she suggested instead. By the time the replacement arrived, my husband and daughter were nearly finished with their meals, and honestly, I had lost my appetite. The chicken was somewhat dry, although the potatoes were very good. I only ate a couple of bites. What disappointed me most was the lack of management involvement. At no point did a manager visit our table to discuss the issue, apologize, or check on the situation. After the replacement meal, we were simply presented with the bill. We weren't asked if we would like to look at the desert menu and I was charged for the chicken replacement that I took two bites from. After getting home, I researched scallops with an ammonia taste and found that it can indicate handling or freshness issues. Thankfully, I haven't become seriously ill, though I did experience an upset stomach for the entire evening afterward. Mico delivers a true high-end dining experience that easily stands on its own. I had read that the menu carries an Argentinean influence, though that wasn't immediately obvious on my first pass. The offerings lean heavily into seafood while also featuring several prime beef options, giving the menu a nice range. Because it was the final weekend of Charlotte's Restaurant Week, my wife ordered the hanger steak, paired with lobster bisque and the North Carolina apple bread pudding. The steak had excellent flavor, a perfect char, and was cooked exactly as requested. The bisque was especially welcome on a cold night, though it was a bit heavier on salt than I prefer. So nice! We were a bit early for our 5:15 reservation, and they did have us wait until nearly the time. I would absolutely recommend making a reservation though, even for an early time. The decor is beautiful and I love the idea of the slightly open kitchen. Our server was wonderful. Very attentive, very kind. Everything we ordered was amazing - but the stand out was the octopus appetizer. Perfectly cooked, not too chewy, and the sauce was amazing. We actually had an issue with one of the meals- they brought out the chicken paella instead of the scallops. They fixed the mistake pretty quickly, but it did make us have to wait a bit! Went here for my Boyfriends birthday. We were a group of five. Our reservation was at 8:00pm and our sever (not sure his name, but had longer hair) was nice person but not very attentive. Not sure if he just had too many tables to handle, but drinks and apps didn't come out tile 8:40. We asked to order he said he'd be back we were still waiting so we asked the food runner if she could grab our server we needed to order still. He finally comes back with the drinks 30/40 minutes later and forget our friend's hot water he goes to grab it, and I tell him no we need to really order. We got the ribeye and added lobster and also the crab and caviar butter to the steak. Beware the lobster is not a tail it's random chunks which was weird to me it looked like the same mix in the sliders from our appetizer. Food comes out but our ribeye steak is raw, sent it back. It comes back and they for some reason mixed the crab caviar butter with the lobster..... not sure why they'd do that (that was so weird and off putting.) Me and my boyfriend were sharing and I don't like lobster that's why we also added the crab caviar butter. So I stuck to eating my 2 scallops and little bit of steak untouched by the lobster... no crab I guess for me. Asked if they did anything for birthday and was told "we could put a candle on whatever." But nothing complimentary even with a raw steak or food mishap bar drinks take 20 minutes. What a beautiful restaurant with an open kitchen. The detail in the decor is absolutely stunning! I ate here a few times while staying for a work trip. The bar team, Nilson made great cocktails and very friendly. The servers, Kallie, Mirtha, Ashley and Tanner took great care of me while I was there and made great recommendations. Christina their director has great taste in wine and I enjoyed flipping through their wine book. They offer a really cool high altitude Malbec wine flight which was very fitting for their "theme." I was looking for a nice spot for date night, and I found just the one! The interior is beautiful, modern and elegant and a little maximalist. Juan was our server and he was great! The menu had a lot of great options on it. We started with drinks and I believe I got the signature cocktail which was the perfect choice. We got some steak skewers as an appetizer and Juan even brought us out a small bite-sized starter from the chef which was delicious! We had trouble deciding between lots of delicious options on the menu, although we settled on the scallops and steak which were both cooked well and we're complimented with tasty greens. We couldn't pass up dessert either! I was excited to see that they had dessert wine recommended as a pairing so we got one of those as well as two desserts that were both creatively and beautifully plated! Beautiful space located in the Bohemian Hotel in Charlotte. I was there to celebrate a birthday and even though we had a group of 8 the service did not fail us. Our server was attentive, explained the menu in detail and even extended the restaurant week menu to us which was a plus. The food - amazing! I had the lobster bisque which was seasoned well and the full of lobster. My main course was paella with shrimp. The portion was perfect and the shrimp was well prepared. Date night before concert so we were excited to check out Mico in the Bohemian Hotel. We were greeted by a staff member who helped us get checked in and seated on time. Decore is beautiful with a nice open floor plan separated by low booth saying and plenty of window seating for special occasions. Decor was on point and the smells coming from the kitchen were great. You may want to do a little research ahead of time on traditional ARG food especially the Aji (spice, flavor add, and a dip depending on function). My three things: 1) Big spend $$$$, nice spot (bring your date), good food (3/5 ) I loved my whole fish wife liked her salad. 2) Parking is a difficult but if you eat it's half off valet ...really? 3) Drinks are dope and if you like ARG wine this is your spot. Well let me say this. The food at this place was absolutely amazing. We had the 20 oz ribeye and the whole oak grilled Branzino. She had a mocktail I had a glass of wine with a side of sauteed mushrooms and collard greens. We also ordered the special appetizer oyster witch was delicious. They were topped with caviar and bacon. We also split the apple bread pudding for dessert. I got the chimichurri seasoning with the ribeye and I ordered it medium rare. They cooked it perfectly. Just wish it was a little bit hotter when it came out. The bill came to about $200 before tip. The environment was very posh. They had a best wine selection and they also have a private room on the side. Now as far as the service goes I think they were short staffed. From the time we walked in until the time we got our food it was about a good hour 20 minutes. Yes I'm sure everything is made to order but I think they were short of staff so it took a little bit longer to get our food. We parked with valet for $28, which I thought was quite steep but the guys were pleasant and helpful. We checked in with the lovely hostess who had such a warm smile on her face. She even obliged in taking pictures of us. Shortly after, we headed to the dining room to be seated. The restaurant wasn't too busy for a Saturday evening so it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. Our waitress came over and provided us with some menus and took our drink orders. I settled on hot green tea with lemon and honey. My sister and cousins got specialized cocktails/mocktails that were not on the menu. For our meal, my sister got the veggie paella, my cousins had the salmon and chips & dip, and I had sweet plantains and the truffle mushrooms. The mushrooms were so delicious, as were the plantains. I wasn't hungry so I opted for side dishes. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the menu was priced moderately. The ambiance of the restaurant is also captivating. The restaurant is located inside of a hotel, the interior is beautiful and very nice. I made reservations on open table, and I knew it must be the place to go, they make you put a credit card on file to make a reservation and if you cancel within a day they will charge $50.00 per person. Our waitress Ashley was the best, very attentive and knowledgeable. We started with the octopus, and it was delicious! We were celebrating my friend birthday and I had informed them of that. They had a nice place card on the table and the waiter sent us two spoons of something with tomatoes, micro greens and some type of cheese to refresh your palate, it was delicious! I had the branzino, and a side of Brussel sprouts I've been wanting to try the fish. My friend had the paella add scallops and a Caesar salad, the real one with anchovies and not the salty kind. We then had this cookie and cream dessert, that was okay. It had dark chocolate, the bitter kind, but the bar itself was good. I would definitely go back and try something else. read more

This place in itself is a vibe! The interior decorator nailed it!! The colors are vibrant and yet not over powering! We had the pleasure of being greeted by Horace for breakfast and he was great! Very attentive to not only us but others who were also dining at the restaurant. I even heard another patron say how excited she was to get him again so I knew we were in great hands! Horace recommended the egg frittata so I tried it. Now I absolutely love egg whites and the flavors came together very well but I will say if you are one who has a texture issue you might not like it that much. The consistency was much like egg custard if that makes sense. I also had a vanilla latte to accompany it along with some water. We came to Mico for Sunday brunch with a party of 8 and left disappointed. The atmosphere felt like a dated hotel lobby, not the kind of vibe you expect from an uptown Charlotte restaurant. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet our server was checked out and it took close to an hour for our food to arrive. When it finally came, several orders were wrong. At that point no one wanted to send food back and wait another hour. The food itself was underwhelming. Portions were small, flavors were average at best, and prices were high for what was served. Add in the automatic 20 percent gratuity and the entire experience felt like paying premium prices for subpar service and food. This was not the level of quality or experience you'd expect from an uptown restaurant, and it's not a place I would return to or recommend. Plenty of better brunch spots in Charlotte, skip this one. read more

The restaurant was not very full but became a little busier as the evening went out. Our server, Kallie, offered flawless service the entire time we were there. The flow of the food between courses was just right. We opted to take advantage of the Queen's Feast Restaurant week deals and also ordered drinks. All of the food was delicious from appetizer to dessert. Mico is located in the Marriott Grand Bohemian Hotel. We opted for valet parking but were able to get a discount because we dined in the restaurant. After dining, we were able to view the rooftop bar. It was equally impressive. I finally got to try MICO in uptown and it was delightful. The restaurant/hotel is gorgeous with moody lighting. Our server was attentive and was a great help with navigating the menu. The Caesar salad is beyond delicious, one of the best I have had. It's done the way a Caesar salad should be done. The fries were seasoned to perfection and crispy. The filet mignon skewers were so tender and flavorful. I wanted more. The Peruvian chicken Milanese was incredible. The fresh salad on top with the potato purée and gravy was surprisingly a great combo. I didn't drink this night but they have a super creative drink menu for those who want to indulge. Yummy spot in uptown Charlotte!! We went here for my moms birthday on a Sunday night and it was pretty quiet overall. There was a panthers game at 4PM though so trying to leave uptown after that was quite annoying. There is some street parking, but if you decide to valet they do not reimburse you even if you are with the restaurant. I had the steak which was delicious along with one of their signature cocktails. We shared the Brussels and potatoes with blue cheese which I really enjoyed. Their ceviche was probably my favorite item that we tried and would recommend people try out!! Overall, a nice spot in uptown. The one thing that we were disappointed with was the meat. My friend ordered a steak medium, and it came out more than well done. They offered to take it back, and the second steak came out slightly less cooked, but still definitely not medium. I ordered the day catch. The fish was extraordinarily dry. I couldn't eat it, but the accompaniments had great flavor. I wasn't very hungry after the appetizers, so I just ate around the fish. My husband and had a wonderful "staycation" at the Bohemian. We booked a reservation for Mico's as it is conveniently located downstairs. The setting is very intimate. The staff is always amazing. I have to say that it can be annoying when non guests use the restaurant as a cut through to exit the hotel. It was a busy Saturday and the staff tried their best to deter the activity. We enjoy the changes to the menu during each visit. We tried the shrimp and Polenta which is a nod to shrimp and grits. This dish was the star of the table. It was just full of flavor and plated so perfectly. We also ordered the Peruvian chicken, it was lackluster in comparison to the shrimp and polenta. The meal, staff and drinks were amazing. We tried the bread pudding for dessert, I am not a fan. A high price for a not so great dessert. This was my first time checking out Mico and it's been on my list for a while now. I was so happy to check it out for my friends birthday brunch. I'm a timely friend and arrived on time, way before anyone else so I sat at the bar and ordered a bloody mary. It was delicious and made just how I like. The bartender Wesley, was amazing! The decor inside is so beautiful and elegant. You almost don't even feel like you're still in Charlotte when you're inside. They also had an amazing live musician playing all kinds of music. I mean she had range, when I was leaving she was signing a Boyz 2 Men song! Super kudos to Mico for having diverse music for all kinds of people. And this musician was so talented and had the voice of an angel. At first I thought it was the radio, but it was this ultra talented singer. Loved this added element so much! Now, on to the food. I ordered the uptown waffle that came with spiced blueberry compote, candied pecans, strawberries and Chantilly cream. So so good! The waffle was nice and crispy. I also ordered the home fries and some eggs. Which I also enjoyed. My one small complaint is that I wish they had more meat options: turkey, chicken etc. I don't eat pork so another option would've been great. Otherwise, our server was amazing, so mad I can't recall his name. I was able to park nearby in a lot. There wasn't much street parking because of Sunday church service. For example, served soup for 12 in three or four bowls (not large mind you, just a regular serving) that was then moved to small bowls using a teaspoon by each diner. So I will start on a positive note for my most recent experience. We went here for brunch last weekend and we have always had a great experience at this establishment. Mirtha was very attentive and extremely kind. The service is always superb and the staff is always courteous. The only difference this time was the food. I was highly disappointed in the quality of the food. From an appearance perspective the food looked spectacular but it was extremely bland and the potatoes were so hard I could barely chew them. From the taste and texture they had been sitting for quite some time...like over 24 hours. My daughter was also disappointed so it wasn't just me. We just knew this brunch was a sure shot based on our history with this restaurant but it was a total flop. I don't know what changed but this is not the brunch I knew and loved. What a cute place! The ambiance is amazing ... very Peruvian. Kallie was our waitress and she took the time to go over the specifics of the menu and share her favorites. We went there for lunch and got the chips and dips appetizer. It had 3 different dips, an avocado & 2 other ones. One was a little spicy but I couldn't stop eating it. The deep fried pita chips with a little sea salt ... wow!! They have carrots, celery and radishes. My friend got the chicken salad sandwich. It was so tasty!! It's not your normal mayo based chicken salad, it's done with a different base and not as "wet." It has more chicken in it and the seasoning was amazing. I got the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. NOTE: This is NOT an Argentinian restaurant! The menu has more surf than turf. There's no typical Argentinian food and there's too much spice going around. Argentinian food isn't that heavy in spicy and neither garlic. You can't bring a vampire here, they love garlic. I couldn't eat the Yucca, you only tasted the garlic.
