We didn't realize we wouldn't be able to tour the visitor center on that one Friday we arrived due to a private event. Spectators or outsiders people watching thinking, "Wow! Lucky!" or fill in the blank. Many of the employees at the front desk, visitor center and store were outgoing, humorous and open to answering questions. Theme focused on Minecraft in a portion of the store. There's a variety of items sold in the store from pickleball sets, hydroflasks, exercise/gym attire, and more. Surprisingly, our son chose and dad purchased a kit and pricey ballpoint pen. The purchase included a huge, recyclable Microsoft bag. They also offer internships to students interested in coding. Inquire within. Don't forget to take pictures outside and indoors with Microsoft logo. We would definitely love to return when visitor center is open to the public.

If you like tech or are a geek, you will love this place. I find it interesting. Parking is easily available. There is a miniature size of the Microsoft campus on display and it is huge! You also get to read about the history of Microsoft and the people involved from the beginning. There are some interactive areas where you can try out the games or gadgets. It is pretty much a good place for both children and adults. The opening hours are during office hours of Monday to Friday. But do check the website before going as it may change during the holidays.

I absolutely loved my visit here. Now i must admit I love this type of stuff so my opinion may be swayed, but this place of awesome! They have tons of items for purchase, both the regular electronics made by Microsoft and some special merchandise such as clothing. bags, pens, and more. One thing to note during my visit which was in late July of 2022, they were having a supply problem, and many of the shirts they were selling were only available in 3x, which seems kind of crazy. Other than being a store, there are lots of of other areas to see, such as a mini museum of microsoft, an area for kids to play Microsoft's game "Minecraft", and much more. Truly an excellent place Microsoft has built for the public to view!

What a pleasant surprise, was not expecting much to do but they had a lot interactive electronic things to do. We spent probably a couple hours playing with all the items and photos. Would recommend Microsoft to attach more Microsoft Logo to their items that they sell. Fun place for geeks and non geeks

6/27/19 My husband is a HUGE Microsoft fan. He teaches Microsoft technology and when you joke about people "drinking the Kool-Aid", there are times when I think he bathed in it. :) He had a contract this week to teach at Microsoft and this was the first time our son and I were able to join him on the trip. The Visitor's Center is cool. There is a little history, but I thought it seemed a little too abbreviated. I liked the map of the campus -- it's huge! The tech was really cool. Our six year old found a Minecraft station and I found a tablet and played Solitaire. We dropped a nice chunk of change at the store. I made some guy laugh when we were looking at flash drives and our son declared he wanted one. I said, "You're six! You don't have files!" :) My son was really bummed that he couldn't try the VR (he had to be 13) so I kind of wish they had just a little bit more for younger kids, but overall I'm glad we were able to go. It's a nice center and it's totally free to check it out!

It seems like nowadays it's so hard to find a PC repair place where the guys actually know what…read morethey're doing. I've used the Geek Squad and others in the past and they were worse than useless. But not these guys! They were recommended to me by my neighbor, who is a Programmer with a major software company, and boy was he right. My computer crashed and would not reboot. They were able to repair it to the point of booting, and it could be used, but it was really old and definitely past its expiration date, so I reluctantly decided it was time to move to a new computer. They were able to recover all of my data (which I had of course failed to back up for months) and my web bookmarks. Phew! And it cost WAY LESS than I was expecting. I then ran into some issues with my old monitor not working with my new computer, and they helped me figure it out without charging me any extra, even though realistically they should have because this had nothing to do with what I had already paid for. I find the negative reviews baffling -- could it be that they are putting their review in the wrong place? I've seen this happen to a friend of mine who has a small business, and he regularly gets negative ratings from people who thought they were rating a different company with a similar name. Nothing I saw over 3 days of interacting with these guys even remotely resembled the negative comments. Bottom line -- if you have issues with your computer, definitely start here. This is the kind of small, local business we need to support.

First Vibes Value is underwhelming. I'm an electronics…read moreassembler and I former field service technician/electronics repair tech. Their GPUs, PC cards, networking & other peripherals are 5 - 8 generations old, yet they often want the higher end of the average price of those same completed/sold items on eBay. And sure, that's fine, if what you're selling is 100% tested/working, in great condition, cleaned and/or comes with a limited warranty. Instead, lots of items are dirty, scuffed up, damaged, and/or missing critical components. For instance, several of their motherboards were missing IO shields. Bonkers Pricing! 5-6 generation old GPUs (GTX 770, 970, RX 570 etc) were $60 - $125; SCSI cards (only $1 at RE-PC Seattle!) were $14!! By far the worst offender by a long shot was their motherboard section: They had an Asus Prime A320M-A, marked as "tested" and came with stock cooler, plus IO plate. They wanted $100!! This is an entry-level, first-gen AM4 socket (so Ryzen 3/5/7/9 CPUs) however, if you wanted to pair this board with a newer Ryzen 5000 series, for example, it wouldn't just work natively. You have to update the BIOS in the board first, and you'd 100% have to do this Bios update WITH an older Ryzen CPU, which is tricky even for tech savvy gamers. Lastly, this board and other entry level ones like it can be found elsewhere for $40 - $70, and often in way better condition, or with the BIOS update done by previous owner/seller. Other cons Some items have stickers that do say "tested", while others don't have any stickers. You have to just walk to the front and ask. Things are organized in big totes, but it's hit or miss finding parts you need, as the store as a whole is incredibly dirty and dingy, with random fully built systems, speakers/sub woofers, TVs and other electronics randomly placed in between these totes, none of which are ever grouped together. Some of their pre built laptops are up near the front desk, which I'm sure is due to the Kensington locks to prevent theft, but their desktops are everywhere, so if you're looking, your better off calling to ask ahead of time, to ask what they have in stock. Otherwise if you come in on your own, and especially if you're not a tech nerd who knows what to look for, you're absolutely going to have a really tough time finding things. The Pros 1) The staff seem knowledgeable about parts, and the repair they were working on when I walked in was a more challenging board level diagnostic test, which told me they have experience and knowledge in this field. 2) They have TONS of stock, especially in monitors, old hard to find adapters, cards etc. So, if eBay seems like it'll take too long, you'll likely find what ya need here. Repairs They do offer repairs, and I overheard a customer call on the phone and ask the guy working here if he "had updates on his PC they are fixing." The worker did acknowledge the shop did in fact still have it on their bench, but "needed another day or so to give any updates." I worked and managed a repair shop on the Eastside for 4+ years, and based on my experience, when you tell somebody only that you "need more time," it's 99% of the time due to 1 of 2 possibilities: 1) You haven't had time to even look at it; 2) You've run some diagnostics, but it yielded little/no clues as to how it can be fixed. Why transparency matters I think it's critical to communicate with customers and see their problems from their perspective. Instead of just treating them as a work order number, and getting them off the phone as quickly as possible, which is what this shop did. When I ran my shop, I always greeted the customers warmly, often by their first names (as most of them were repeat customers) and just be completely honest with them, even if it's news you may think they don't want to hear. I learned the hard way that if you don't give them information they're paying you for updates on, it often just makes follow up communications much more challenging, and can easily sour business relationships. In summary, this shop has a LOT of potential! They're in an AMAZING location, close to Microsoft and high value real estate, and they have the expertise, but couldn't help but notice the passion and organization was extremely lackluster. And yes, I realize this review focuses heavily on the negatives, but I do this from a lens of constructive criticism for my industry peers, to better improve public assumptions of the consumer tech repair industry, and to improved awareness of the right to repair laws. I hope this helps somebody, whether it's a potential customer, or the owners of this business. Thanks

On top of that, this is only 1 of 2 certified places that can repair my Lenovo laptop and I had to drive hours to just pick up and drop off my laptop. They offer shipping, but that's more money out of your pocket for them to use on top of the diagnosis cost, repair costs, and cost for any other supplies. Whenever I asked for a time estimate on how long it would take to diagnose my laptop or to see what's wrong they can never give me an accurate time. They always say a couple hours or the next day. They told me that they would be able to fix my keyboard in one day once it arrives, and I bring my laptop thinking that I can wait there a couple hours for them to fix it and then they tell me that they can't guarantee that will be done that day. I literally drove all the way home to get a phone call saying that my laptop was ready to pick up! I could had waited if it was only going to take a couple hours oh, but they couldn't tell me. They definitely do not speak the customers language or put them first. I feel like they're more in it for the money then going above and beyond for customers. I've literally wasted hours of driving back and forth just to get my laptop keyboard fixed. When I finally received my laptop, they fixed the problem, BUT added another irrelevant problem! My laptop's battery now isn't being detected by the system and isn't charging and has to be connected to an adapter at all times to function. Now I have to pay another trip to Redmond to fix this new problem! Absolutely more inconvenience on my plate! Don't be surprised if you bring your laptop here and get it back with another problem, because that's what happened to me.

January 10th my phone screen broke and got my screen replaced for about 330. Fine at first BUT a week in I started to experience problems: 1. Over time internal corrosion as a result and my phone wouldn't turn on. I NEVER had this issue PRIOR to this repair so WHY are you blaming the customer? 2. Flickering screen-- LCD problem. TELL ME why am I having this already after a recent screen replacement? Paid $50 and took it to a repair shop in Auburn after my phone won't turn on and they said whoever fixed your phone did a CHEAP job and they should do customer service recovery because 1. It wasn't sealed properly and a cheap adhesive was used. and 2. Cheap quality LCD used during replacement. While they offered 250 to repair they thought it'd be more cost efficient for me to pursue service recovery with the original shop. Their customer service was LAUGHABLE: only fix the screen for 209! I rather pay more and get it done at a place that was more honest and less shady! Better yet maybe just get a used phone because the cost is almost as much as my repair. The auburn location even offered a better price if I did choose to pursue them too.
