I had a lovely experience here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I stayed 3 nights for business and was pleasantly surprised at the affordable pricing for a clean and hospitable room. I was given a discount due to disturbances in a neighboring room, which was extremely appreciated. The breakfast options were great for a dine in or on the go! The ladies at the front counter were nice but I was kind of bummed that my wife and I didn't receive an Otis Spunkmeyer cookie and the lady behind us was given six of them. I mean how is that even possible? Though we were somewhat comfortable in the tiny room, I was surprised that there wasn't even a refrigerator, though that may have been an error on our part in not reading the fine print. I felt the dark wall colors made this super small room seem claustrophobic and the room length mirror behind the bed was clearly outdated and a bit porn star trashy. See the photo for proof LOL The fitted sheet and mattress cover was too small for the large profile mattress making us wrap up like mummies by the morning which is kind of gross. I understand that COVID may be to blame for some of this but just an FYI. The elevator was also quite dirty and it's amazing that our price was $65 MORE per night than the place across the street which had a living room attached as well which we had stayed at last year. read more

First to point out that all the negative reviews are old. Next I am Wyndham Diamond with 100 plus hotel nights a year. This by far was my best stay so far this year, not a single thing to complain about. The heat in the room worked perfectly and there was lots of lighting in the bathroom including a heat lamp. In addition the room had an individual Keurig coffee maker, how can you go wrong with that? Breakfast had lots of healthy choices and a Keurig coffeemaker, can't have fresher coffee than that. This has to be the most overpriced room we have ever booked. Talk about gouging the customer. $260+ a night for what is the equivalent of a Motel 6 level property. In general not fond of Wyndham properties as our experience is that they are not very vigilant over the franchisees. Very unappealing room which did not feel clean, unfriendly woman at the front desk. What passed as "grab and go" breakfast was a complete joke, especially at $260.00 a night. Do yourself a favor, even if you have to drive a little farther and stay somewhere else. read more

Hotel was HORRIBLE. After checking in the toilet did not work and they switched our room. Second room reeked of cigarettes and had no working AC. The woman then told us "you can not switch rooms again and maintenance is gone for the weekend" when we asked for a refunded she stated "you will not being getting your fucking money back". I do not recommend staying here there is a beautiful comfort inn across the street stay there. read more

Do not waste your money at this hotel. They are pleasant at the desk until you need something. I needed extra towels and they couldn't bring them to me. The bathroom sink was blocked. They call it a suite and all it had extra was a sink in the regular room which was also blocked. The toilet overflowed and it was on a weekend. Dave at the front desk told me there wasn't anyone to help me. I would have to wait until Monday for someone to fix it. They wouldn't even move me to another room. I left. They would not refund me my money for that one night but expected me to stay without use of a bathroom. They also do not have all the amenities they say they do. Worst place I have been too. A motel gives you more. Dave is a very dishonest person compared to what he said to me and what he actually said to the manager. If you want a real hotel, this is not what you want. read more

I've stayed here for many years (though I think under different brands). In any case, Dover Microtel is an affordable, convenient and friendly place. Could use a bit more management oversight, however, in my view. The housekeeping leaves something to be desired. After our first night, they did a poor job of making up the room. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly and the bed was made badly. The front desk staff are helpful and courteous, though, and that makes up for a lot in my mind. The decor, however, is a bit outdated and the whole property could use more attention in terms of maintenance. Can't beat the price and since its located mere minutes off the turnpike, I'll overlook its shortcomings and come back. read more

These have got to be the rudest people I have ever come across. Booked multiple nights, checked in late they had wrong room reserved on a sold out weekend. Did nothing at all to remedy the situation, gave me the oh well attitude. Day of check out called for a late checkout and was told "no, housekeepers what to go home too". I requested one hour extension, they made it sound like I asked for mid afternoon. Leaving, I confronted desk and voiced my displeasure with their lack of willingness to keep the customer happy. I was told "then please do not ever stay here again". Trust me, I will not be and I filed a complaint with the corporate holder who will address this with the franchisee. read more

The "suite" is one room with a counter divider. The "queen bed" is the size of a full in the rest of the world and sags badly towards the middle. Decor is very dated 80s beige (amusingly. there is a massive wall mirror above the bed). The place is just kind of sad. Plus side is that the person checking us in was nice but you're better off skipping this one. read more

This review is based on my experience and is my opinion only. No other representations are made. An expensive, but cheap and crappy Hotel. My son and I got one of those so-called Suites, but all it had was one queen bed and a pull-out couch. We had to make our own bed on the pull out couch. We asked and they just gave us bedding and told us to do it ourselves. The room was on the highway so there was lots of road noise and we had a very difficult time sleeping. The furniture in the room is very cheap, like something you'd find at Big Lots. The TV on the wall was Tiny and crooked. To top it all the end we paid about double what military rate was for Dover New Hampshire. I stayed at better hotels in Tijuana Mexico. Wyndham Hotels has really diminish their brand by including that one. read more

Not really sure the other negative reviews paint an accurate picture. We booked this hotel because of price and proximity to UNH. Check in was very easy, front desk attendant was pleasant and attentive. Room was exactly as advertised and promised. Room was clean, beds comfortable and lots of pillows. Bathroom was clean, well stocked with towels and other supplies if we had forgotten ours. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate available 24/7 free of charge. Continental breakfast was good selection of breads, muffins, fruit, yogurt, hot/cold cereal, pancakes and juices. Located close to highway and plenty of restaurants. read more

Not worth the money. This is the type of hotel where if you book through Priceline or Expedia, they will give you the handicap room (which is not a "nice" as the other rooms). Our room smelled really strange, the TV was crappy and the bed just didn't look or feel clean. We put our own blankets on the couch and slept there. The lights were a gray yellow that made everything look even dirtier. However, it was right next to a Starbucks so I started my morning off right. read more

Why didn't I learn my lesson from my first experience at this hotel?? I booked a night here again because it was the most affordable and it's close to my sisters place in Newmarket. I booked this hotel through Expedia and I was told that this hotel themselves would have to honor my request by exchanging the dates or refunding me. What a mistake!!!! I had to cancel six days before and the manager to this hotel was so RUDE!!! Not helpful at all. Why do some people have to be so mean??!!! I explained to MARIA the manager that my kids are sick and that I had to cancel my stay. She said there nothing she could do that next time I should take better care of my kids. Then I said can I ask you a question? Do you have kids? She said yes, but I take care of them that's why they aren't sick. So I asked her... can I please speak to your manager? She said I am the manager and nothing can be done. I am now contacting headquarters and reporting her for being so rude and cruel. And I will never stay here again, the staff here are brainless, unprofessional morons. read more

My father-in-law passed away unexpectedly so while traveling from the South to Maine I made a reservation through an agency for Microtel. Little did I know, my finger must have hit the wrong week and I didn't know it until we arrived late at night. They didn't have another room and the week I accidentally booked was in the future. The booking agency totally understood and told me they would be glad to refund my money if Microtel agreed. After several conversations with the manager explaining my mistake and letting him know that my father in law did not have insurance (due to the loss of his job) and that we were going to have to pay for the funeral out of pocket - HE REFUSED. I have never had to deal with someone that was so cold hearted. Would never give them any of my business again. read more
