Incredible service by Derek and another waiter. Really made an impact! Thanks to Derek, we tried the black rice paella and thought it was tasty! We had the pan with tomato and garlic, tuna salad, chicken nuggets, prawns, and a beer. We ate outdoors and it was very nice.

The paella here is good, but I have had better. I got the seafood and chicken paella. The individual components of the paella -- rice, mussels, clams, prawns, and chicken -- were good, but to be the best paella, there needs to be some crusty burnt rice on the bottom. This is what the locals call "socarrat". I had maybe a few rice pellets that were crispy at the pan edges, so I barely got any "socarrat" (1 star off). The service is efficient and friendly. There is a QR code you can use to view the menu and place an order. The kitchen receives the order immediately. I barely put down my phone when my jamon iberico appetizer came out. Toward the end of the meal, you can simply open the tab again and pay from your phone -- no need to flag down waitstaff which can culturally be a slow process in Europe. Note: This is a touristy spot, as evidenced by all the English-speaking customers downing pitchers and pitchers of sangria. Who cares about this "socarrat" business when you have sangria, right?

Paella is delicious, ample amounts of seafood and portion (meant for 2 but I was able to finish all of it) if I had to say anything to be improved the rice was a bit too hard and salty.

Jamie W. and I were in the middle of a bar crawl in Barcelona's gay district in L'Eixample when we realized we should get dinner. We noticed this popular paella spot was open later than most of the neighboring eateries, so we stepped in without a reservation. We were lucky to secure the only open table next to the front door. With the loudish clientele, it had a familiar T.G.I.Friday vibe. The staff was breaking out in "Happy Birthday!" sing-alongs every ten minutes, and the recipients would usually be overzealous foreign tourists who had one decanter of sangria too many. In the midst of the conviviality, we shared two salads. The first was the unusual 12,95€ Cesar Salad with chicken, Parmesan cheese, tomato, lettuce (very little), and alfalfa sprouts. It arrived with toast bread (croutons) and a mix of Cesar dressing, sesame oil, and balsamic (photo: https://yelp.to/fHL9ibp9EB). Just way too much dressing. Better was the 11,85€ Tuna Salad with tuna, anchovies, egg, tomato, cucumber, olives, and just the balsamic (photo: https://yelp.to/dPCqxlzpEA). The main event, however, was the hearty 24,50€ Seafood Paella with Chicken which came in a pan-encrusted bed of hot bomba rice. There were a couple of chicken thighs, a couple of large prawns, and four mussels, as well as plenty of clams and squid (photo: https://yelp.to/72gqRfzljD). We certainly had quite a bit for the reasonable prices, although nobody sang "Happy Birthday" to us. Granted it wasn't either of our birthdays, but hey, who cares? BTW I'm not sure what's behind the gorilla in their logo. Maybe it's a reference to the appetite you need to have to come here. FOOD - 4 stars...paella was quite good but the salads are a bit much AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...pretty packed at a late hour, especially for non-Catalonians like us SERVICE - 4 stars...surprisingly attentive given how packed it was TOTAL - 4 stars...do gorillas like paella? Mixed paella- delicious!

An all around great experience especially for these American tourists. So friendly and nice and the food was great! Wanted to try paella in Spain and was not disappointed. Highly recommended! FOOD: Like I said we wanted to try the paella. We got the mixed paella and it had plenty of food for two. The rice was just on this side of al dente and was so good. Great flavor without being too rich. The chicken was nice and moist with great flavor. The mussels and clams were plentiful as was the squid which was very tasty. Also tried the ham croquette which was really incredible and the mixed sliced meat - also incredible. SERVICE: Excellent! Leo was terrific as was the bartender. Really was helpful and friendly and accommodating. Service alone would have made this worthwhile COST: Reasonable especially for what you get. Without hesitation I would come back.

We needed to get some seafood paella before leaving Spain. We came in for dinner around 830pm and were seated right away as a group of 4. The service was good, there was just a bit of a language barrier, as we don't speak much Spanish. We got the house wine, and we loved it. - Seafood paella (4.5/5): This was delicious! Pretty greasy but super savory. The fresh lemon squeezed on top, so good. All the seafood tasted fresh. - Caprese salad (4/5): Tomatoes were crispy and fresh, and the cheese was delish. - Charcuterie (4/5): Good portion of meat to cheese. Got some extra bread to go with it!

We loved it so much we've gone back in a week. Great food....the goat cheese salad and the grilled prawns were standouts. The staff is friendly and have even recognized us as we were walking down the street, The paella is said to be fantastic too,

Geleneksel İspanyol lokantaları arasında güzel bir seçenek. Mekan genelde kalabalık oluyor. Sung rüyası ve Paellası özellikle çok hoşumuza gitti.

This place requires you order online, pay online, and includes minimal interaction with workers. It was okay, but I've definitely found better food spots while in Spain. The burger itself was tasty, but the other options are whatever. The interior was well decorated though. It just felt like it was missing something!

    Tinto de verano, paella mixta
    Angie L.

Finally found a place that makes paella for one! It takes 20-30 min to make which is a good sign to me -- not that I can truly tell the difference between frozen vs fresh paella but mine tasted fairly authentic. I got a tinto de verano to tide the time and read my book. My paella mixta soon arrived in a steaming hot pan & it looked absolutely appetizing. This one came with chicken and mussels and clams (and maybe another type of meat?), with stubby yellow rice slick with flavor. It was so yummy and I dug at it for at least an hour -- was beyond stuffed upon completion but very much satisfied. They gave me a free shot of some apple liqueur afterwards, which obviously I wasn't going to say no to. Had me a little dazed on the Barcelona streets but all was good. Very English-friendly service.

    Pasta Carbonara

We were on a mission to find Paella and this place had great Yelp reviews. Keep in mind Paella takes approximately 25 minutes to prepare so kick back and relax. The wait is totally worth it. Huge servings, so flavorful and fresh ingredients. This was a seafood paella with Shrimp, clams, mussels, squid and chicken legs. While we waited we ordered Pasta Carbonara which was so creamy and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant. Great service too.

I wanted a good old fashioned burger and this place is THE PLACE to get it in España! Bacoa was everything I ever wanted and needed in a burger at this time in my life. We went to the location on Ferran, which is close by La Rambla. If it's your first time there, you fill out a piece of paper to place your ordered. You check what kind of meat, bread, sauce, sides, fries or extra sauce you want. I ordered the classic burger with bacon, caramelized onions and their truffle sauce with a side of skinny fries. Absolutely delicious!! This burger reminded me of Super Duper burger in San Francisco and that's saying something because I hold that place in high regard! The meat was cooked to medium rare perfection and tasty - meaning it was seasoned well. The caramelized onions added the right amount of sweetness and the bacon was bacon, lol. I can't get over the truffle sauce and how well it paired with the burger as a whole. I feel like the sauce helped to elevate the burger into amazingness. The fries were hot and crispy when they came out and not over salted. And it doesn't hurt that most of it is organic! I wish I had more space to order one of their desserts but I didn't, womp womp. If you have a chance to eat a burger in Spain, don't go to Burger King, go here!
