She spent a lot of time with me, until I found the perfect frames! Tarlan told me which frame would best complement the shape of my face and my skin/hair coloring, etc. When I asked her opinion about a specific frame, she answered honestly and explained the reason. (I totally trusted her judgment, because I loved her personal style.) Tarlan also helped me understand all the optional features, such as anti-reflective and UV protection and transition lenses with blue light... I take my eyeglass frames very seriously, because I think of them to be, by far, my most important accessory. Everyone sees them, and you wear them for at least a couple years. They reflect your personality. I know this sounds OCD, but I actually spent hours Googling "Best Eyeglass stores in LA" before I even started shopping. Then I visited at least 5 of the "top 10 eyeglass frame stores" (Lux, Hye, etc.) before l.a.Eyeworks! At the other stores, I found frames that were "just okay." The thing I love most about l.a.Eyeworks (besides working with Tarlan) is that they carry a unique selection of frames you won't find anywhere else! That sounds like a commercial advertisement. LOL. There were errors in my prescription that weren't caught until I tried to order contacts and when I called to resolve it, the staff was unhelpful and dismissive. Instead of taking ownership of what was clearly their mistake, they made the situation harder than it needed to be. On top of that, the receptionist I spoke with was rude and lacked any real sense of customer care. The whole interaction felt unnecessarily difficult and left me without contacts for many days. There are plenty of other eye doctors out there who are more detail-oriented and treat patients with basic respect. Thus, I'd suggest going elsewhere.

The tech and the doctor were both very nice and professional. They made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions. The exam process was pretty fast. It was probably done within 20-25 min. That's about where the good experience ended for me. My issue is with the fact that they up charge you for damn need everything from the moment you walk in the door, starting with the extra $30 for imaging. Somehow I came in thinking I was gonna get 2 pairs of glasses and an exam for $95 as advertised yet they tried to charge me $400 for the cheapest frames I've ever seen in my life. I declined the glasses and just took the prescription. The customer service from the people working in the front was terrible. They had a new guy helping me that had absolutely no clue what he was doing, resulting in me being there way longer than I should have been. I would only go here if I was looking to get a quick easy eye exam. I would get glasses elsewhere.
