My experience at this store is nothing but positive!!! I brought it in for alignment on a used car I had purchased, they did an over all inspection and found a few things that needed to be fixed. They went over prices and I was able to return a couple of days later. I was happy to do so because the manager Dylan Wolfe makes you feel very comfortable, not pressured to get services done there nor do I feel like they take advantage of you just to get your money!!! The other employees are always polite and acknowledge you even if they are just coming through the lobby to gab a vehicle. I used them for oil changes before I moved to Florida. I was one change away from the free one, dangit. Now my nearest Midas is an hour away from me. I always got my oil changed for $20. One time one of the guys forgot to give me a discount on a different service and said my next oil change is free, so that was nice. That's what kept me going back. They're pretty good about just oil change and get the hell out. I miss that place...much rather go there than the NTB or Goodyear. read more

These guys get a lot of business because they do good work. They are busy often, but it's never a long wait once they have your vehicle. If I get in at the beginning of the day, repairs usually get done the day of. You can trust them to do it right; and they work with you to make sure you understand what's up. My car battery died on the gas island at W. Market and Ghent a few days ago. Paul, the district manager of the Midas Muffler Shop was also at the gas island. He immediately came over to help me. He called Kyle, the store manager of the shop, to come give my battery a jump. Five minutes later Kyle jumped the battery and I was on my way. Kyle and Paul were very polite and helpful. The next day my battery failed to start and I took the car to the Midas Muffler Shop for a new battery. Had an excellent service call. Went in for an oil change in October of 2019 and paid for the oil change, windshield wipers, and both a cabin and air filter. I went back for an oil change in August of 2020, and got an oil change. After declining to get new filters and tires I was told "This isn't a Valvoline, just go there next time". When I was paying for my oil change he then told me again if I'm just getting an oil change I shouldn't come there again. This was the manager telling me they didn't want my business just because I didn't want their extra services this time. Rocco is very rude and it's surprising that he is even employed. I understand oil changes aren't the most profitable, but when the filters aren't a year old and my wipers are fine I shouldn't be expected to pay for new ones. read more

I was given wrong transmission flush advice from someone else on staff. When I went back, a different person explained that it should just be a drain and fill, what the unrelated oil leak really was, and why it didn't really need to be fixed. He was calm while I was initially upset. Thanks. I'd still like to know 1. why the service I asked for wasn't done in the first place when I was told I needed a replacement pan and that would be included in the quoted price (maybe they had to order the part), 2. if the person was educated and corrected, and 3. why the recommendation wasn't in their computer. I could have ruined my transmission had they done what I initially asked for. read more

I was recently referred to Midas by AutoZone. Unfortunately, this was a result of unintentional damage to the head lights in my car by an AutoZone employee. AutoZone corrected the problem by providing two new complete head lights assemblies which were installed by Midas. The Midas employees were friendly, worked very quickly, and the work was done to my satisfaction. I was in and out of the store in 25 minutes. I was very please with the service provided. read more

This is without a doubt the worst car repair location in Akron. I took my car in to get the tires balanced and rotated. They called me 2 hours later and told me I needed $1,500.00 of repairs NONE of which had anything to do with the tires. This was on a car with only 48,000 total miles and has been well cared for. Took the car to another shop and they said NONE of the items they recommend where bad. They were so mad I did not have the repairs done they refused to balance the tires. This place is wonderful. Always honest and fast. Comfortable, clean waiting room with good coffee. The guys are always so thorough with their inspections and honest about pricing and repairs. I have had several horribly experiences with being price gouged and lied to because I am a woman who knows little about cars. It's hard to find honest and respectable people who will be upfront with you about costs and repairs but these are the people!! I can echo what Ned P. said of this place. I had nearly the same experience. Took my car there for an oil change and tire rotation and suddenly another $1600 in repairs came up. I ended up taking the car to my dealer to correct what this store did wrong. I couldn't confirm it but the adviser at the dealer hinted that this store made mistakes on my car that ran the bill up. read more

I try to find the best in people and for the most part, people are great. Lately, I have forgotten how unjust people can be in their actions because I haven't had to deal with a salesman in awhile. I took my vehicle to Midas knowing there was an O2 sensor messed up on my car. How did I know this? Valvoline told me for free. I also knew the heat wasn't working, and it had a hard time starting so I thought maybe the battery was old, the connector was bad, or possibly the alternator was going. Midas offered to do a quick free inspection to tell me what was wrong with my car. They told me what errors were being thrown which was a catalytic error in addition to my other errors that I already knew about. They said to find out more, they would have to do a full diag which cost $80. I wish I would have listened to my gut which said, NO DONT DO IT! ITS A SCAM! They came back with the same exact information and told me they couldn't dig any deeper because my cars computer system wouldn't allow them to go any further until they fixed all of those initial errors. The bill to do that was $2,200. Was I going to put that kind of money into a 2006 Nissan Armada? Heck no! I may not know much about cars, but I am also not an idiot. I can figure something else out. I went back thinking I could simply pick up my car. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case because I had to pay the $80 diag fee even though they weren't remotely finished with the diag. They found the same exact info that I had when I originally dropped my car off. This is just terrible customer service. Oh actually they did tell me one new thing which was that I needed a new battery, WHICH WAS A LIE! I took my car over to Auto Zone after unwillingly paying for a ridiculous fee and being threatened to be charged a high fee in the process of questioning his reasoning. I had a battery on hold since that is what I thought I needed to make sure my car started in the morning. Even paying the $80, it was still cheaper to just getting a battery replaced at Auto Zone than for me to get just my battery replaced at Midas. It was going to be cheaper even if they waved the diag fee which was not a guarantee. Ridiculous! The best part is, I walk into Auto Zone telling those awesome guys that I needed the new battery installed which they do for FREE. He immediately questioned the battery replacement after looking over Midas's results and tested it themselves. When they tested it with the connectors on, it showed that the battery was bad but when he took the connectors off, it didn't even read low. The guy at Auto Zone cleaned up my connector and all was well. And that service, which was far more than what Midas did, WAS FREE!!!! That's customer service. I was going to buy a new battery for $140 and the guy working there talked me out of it and even pointed me to a mechanic that was worth a lick. I am very disappointed in my service at Midas. I just hope that this warning can be heard by others before making the same mistake I did. Good luck with your car trouble and I am sorry if you have been scammed in a similar way. read more
