We had just arrived (limping) in Akron with a fuel tank strap dangling from a rusty frame. We dropped the Escalade there at 8:00am, and by 4:00pm they hadn't just clamped it, they had repaired and welded a new chunk of frame in and reattached the strap. Miraculous. We had 2 different noises going on with our Van. I told Misty about the one noise, that we were hearing while driving. My Husband told Misty about the other noise which was when we were backing up and putting the van in reverse. We had 2 different noises going on. Wilson's looked at it and said the Rear Differential support arm needed to be replaced. We gave authorization to get that fixed. We thought that would fix "all" of our noises. No, it fixed the putting the car in reverse noise. We still had the other noise, we took it back into Wilson's and they guessed that it was something else- however, not the struts or wheel bearing (the Dealer had recommended). We had a lot going on with our Van, it also needed new tires. We wanted it all to be fixed, not just part of it. Listen to your customers, write down what the customers are saying, especially, Misty, the Manager handling phone calls. Why should it take 2 times going into their shop to get the noises all fixed? We have better things to do than to drive 30 minutes away to your shop to get our vehicle repaired. Do a thorough job, test drive the vehicle several times, call the customer if needed. I feel like there was some communication issues going on here, either with Misty/mechanics and us. I know what I told Misty and what my Husband said and we told them about 2 different types of noises. They only repaired 1 noise. We were left with the other noise. Eventually, we got frustrated after the 2nd estimate of how much it would cost. We took it to the dealer and it was covered under our Vehicle's Maintenance Warranty. The dealer mechanic, actually came and got me and test drove the vehicle with me in the car, as he wasn't hearing the noise. I told him several things to do to hear the noise. It did take him awhile to hear the noise and then figure out what all was going on. He said it needed a wheel bearing and new struts, which was different than what Wilson's had recommended for the 2nd estimate. Yes, we have 140,000 miles on our Toyota Van, so noises are expected when you get above 100,000. Misty didn't want to explain things to us over the phone, where we wanted to hear from the mechanic on the details about the part and what needed to be replaced. Shouldn't the 2nd estimate-part be the same as what Toyota recommended? It wasn't, so if we had gotten that done with Wilson's, the noise may have still been present after they fixed it. Beware, it seems like they aren't real thorough with their work or the test driving and dealing with customers. Disappointed, as they were recommended to us. read more

I'm from out of town. My Acura's TPMS suggested that a tire had a pressure problem. Early morning, raining and cold, Wilson's was recommended to me by a local resident. I showed up there, they took me in right away (I didn't have an appointment) and they checked the tire out. Seems that the tire(s) were low because I had driven up from a warm clime (Raleigh NC) to the Akron cold. The tires checked out ok and these folks restored the pressure as recommended by Honda. No charge. Perfect service. I'm grateful for Wilson's hospitality. read more

The front engine shield on my car was broken and dragging along the road. I was in Akron to visit family and needed to return home soon. Wilson Garage got my car in the morning I called and had the repair done by early afternoon for a very reasonable price. I only wish there was a place like this closer to where I live! I've taken several vehicles there over the past several years. These folks are conscientious fair and competent. One vehicle started making a noise like those lawn mowers for toddlers that pop colored balls around in a clear plastic dome. My razor-like powers of observation decided something was amiss! I had apparently gotten a stick caught in the engine compartment that made all the clatter. The cost for my stick-ectomy? $0.00!.. Hell I once got billed $50.00 for a dealer replacing the bulb in my brakelight! A fix that took all of three minutes! Kudos to these guys. If Karma exists they will continue to have a lot full of cars from loyal patrons! read more

I had my 2003 Buick Rendezvous in for service on 05/12/2015 because the brake line burst while I was on the highway. Luckily there was little traffic and I was able to guide it into a rest area. I had it towed to Wilson Garage for a co-worker recommended them. I received a call from the owner and he said they would have to replace the brake line from the ABS unit all the way to the rear axle. I asked the owner on the phone if they could just replace the section where it was broken but he said that it was to corroded and rusted to do that. They also replaced the broken brake light switch. The total cost was $505.67 About a week later I had my local mechanic take a look at the SUV for something unrelated and while looking under the SUV I noticed that all Wilson Garage did was install an 18" piece of brake line where the break was which the owner said he couldn't do when I asked. I thought $505.67 seemed high to replace 18" of brake line so I went to three garages in the same local area and all three were at least $100 cheaper and one more so to replace 18" of brake line and the brake line switch. So basically, they charged me for a brake line that was supposed to go from the ABS to the rear axle and only put in 18" of line. I went back to ask for a partial refund because they didn't do what they said but they refused and told me to leave. Although I don't have the SUV anymore I still have the receipt that clearly states that they replaced the broken brake line from the ABS Unit to the rear axle and I have pictures from underneath the SUV that shows they didn't; very dishonest and I don't trust them at all. Thankfully I know enough about cars and have done some mechanic work myself so I know what to check; however, if you want to use this place for service I'd check to make sure they did what they said before paying and if you don't know enough about cars bring someone with you that does. read more

Wilson's does mechanical work on all our vehicles. I gave them 5 stars for value and integrity. I've never felt that I've been advised to do anything I didn't need to get done. Their advise for future repairs has been spot on. Any used car I've looked to purchase goes to Wilson Garage first. They've given me excellent advise and saved my family from potential headaches. I also get my tires there as well. It's a great no-frills local business. read more

I started taking my cars there after they came off warranty and they do excellent work for fair prices, they have also done some body work on two of by cars and they did an excellent job. I would highly recommend them. read more
