I don't even know know where to start!..... we broke down 23 miles from Barstow. Keep in mind we're towing our 41 ft trailer moving out of California, we called and the kindest woman name Corina answered the phone and just reassure us they would take good care of us when we arrived. Almost 2 hours later we finally got there once the kind tow truck driver saved us ..... she remembered us and said yay you finally made it She had some of her technicians move their cars so we could back in this big ol beast into a safe parking place. These guys even helped guide us to back in like parking a 747 lol They then called us not even an hour later and told us they had all the parts and would have us on the road within 2-3 hours. The work that Kenny the service advisor and Pedro the technician did was next to none! They inspected my RV and within a short time found the problem which was fortunately minor, an end cap fell off. The manager told me that they had the part and I was on My way in just a short time. These guys saved Christmas!!!! I was driving from Las Vegas to Sacramento, and had a belt failure about 5 miles east of Barstow. I hopped on Yelp and found these guys who come highly rated. I called ahead to verify they had the parts to work on my car and to make sure I could get in and out same day. They said they had the parts, and would stay late if need be to get me back on the road! I brought my car in, they replaced a belt which had been stressed by a low performing water pump and replaced both all within a couple hours! They were very friendly, accomodating to me and my dog who I had in tow. They got be back on the road by 12:30 and I was able to make it to Sacramento by 7:00 PM. They really saved the day! Usually have good experiences here but today, it's going on 3 hours just for a oil change. Unacceptable.

Took my truck to Midas for a fix which was disastrous,I had tried every backyard mechanic I could to save a few bucks and figured someone in Barstow could use the bucks,but after about 3 mechanics It was apparent they couldn't figure it out and all the guessing was costing me more than my truck was worth but one last try with a legit company you know as Midus. I know about cars I've done enough over years transmission,clutch tune ups and more,hell even worked at a Auto Machine shop doing complete vale jobs along with doing for street and track cars so when took to midus I figured it was a Firing problem,no spark to distributor and everywhere else the one thing we found out was coil and distributer we're fine,that they could with thier diagnostics machines pin it down could have been major or minor repair. After a day I got a call from them saying they got it running they had found the ignition modular was problem and replaced without discussing it with me,they then proceeded to tell me it would run for about 20 seconds and shut off ,they would reset timing and again same thing they then took out distributed and looked inside and claimed the gear on cam was missing two teeth it wouldn't keep timing and the cost to repair would be around 1500$ about 6-8 hrs labor and add that to the allready charge of 550$ that would be cost out door,but I know one thing if a gear is missing teeth it would not start it slipped timing and would not start run great for 20 seconds and die,so I asked if ran a compression check would verify thier claim they said no that they had seen the bad gear and there was no need to,so I told them I'd get back to them and went online and paid a mechanic to get his opinion for the records and he said same thing and that seeing the cam gear that's in engine could not be seen to make that determination he told me just get it back they lying and take elsewhere but b4 I could get back to them. He called and said his mechanic would give me 300$ for it. When I told him 1200 he lost interest,I told him I'll pay for what I asked for and take part he took on his on to put in without discussing with. Me he didn't argue and I said call when done a few days later he called I said I'll be there in couple days which ended up being about a week and when I bl called said it was broke into they took nothing just a window since I left a lil long I didn't complain it was my fault for leaving when got towed home me and driver opened hood had no battery a brand new one got 2 months prior he said it was no good and they replaced but when I told him get me new one he said let him look around where they keep,the old bhe would get back to me as for distributor laying lazily on side of engine he'd talk to mechanic I said it needs to be put back in well I never heard from him and when they. u would call they had answering machine in and never answered or called back so I called corperate and filed a claim for new battery they stole as well as cost of distributor to be put back in,they were lucky it did not fall out on towing then I'd be out a 200+$ distributor,I asked for 500$ for cost of all that was all for lying to me trying to steal the truck as well as the battery and distributor issues well they refused said mechanic told me it was distributor and I refused to repair it and as for battery it was stolen when they broke into truck ,WOW,so i called BBB and filed a claim witb then just waiting for thier response the BBB mediates it and works to get resolved if they still refuse I'll file witb the courts here for a civil lawsuits allready checked with courts and cost ,if they make me go through more crap it's going to cost them much more than 500$for all these lyes trying to get the truck for 300 they never imagined I knew more about cars myself and if it had been years back when I had tools I'd have done myself! Do yourself a favor if your not familiar with them you could be taken if you do get second opinion for major work know this they will take you,I wonder as shady as they are how many did,I'll keep this posted on the outcome. My car broke down near Barstow in the middle of the night on a return drive from LV to LA - tow truck dropped my car in the lot at 9pm and this place was on it right at 8am - I was out of there quick and the rates were great but the real quality is the customer service and customer care- I've been taken advantage of before and this place was honest and fair - they even picked me up from town when my car was fixed. Dealer wanted $1300 to replace an entire headlight due to the harness melting and the warranty company refused to pay it. I went in due to my car "overheating" ... they helped me out! wasn't too pricey at all. I got a new battery, thermostat, lights for my license plate, & oil change. The next morning, my car was still overheating. I called & they got me in right away! I sat in there for 4 hours while they were diagnosing what the problem was. they found out it was the sensors that were bad. one of them was cracked actually. the manager came in & explained to me what was going on. she was super sweet. she put in 2 sensors FOR FREE. also gave me a free oil change!! highly highly HIGHLY recommend Midas!! read more

I took my truck in to the Barstow Ca location for exhaust work ,alignment and tire rotation, was informed it would be done before close of business, 5 hours later I called to check the status and was informed they hadn't started any of the work and would not be able to get to it. This was the only day I could get the work done due to a family emergency and they didn't even make a courtesy call informing me of this issue. I spoke with the manager and he was apologetic. Called on a weekday morning. They only schedule appointments during the morning but I drove there and they got me in as soon as I showed-up. Told them what I suspected the problem to be. Diagnosis took less than 20 minutes. They gave me a complete run-down with multiple options and I chose a course of action. They even walked me out to the car with the technician and explained the work, their findings, further recommendations and answered my questions. They estimated the time at another hour and they estimated the cost very accurately. Then when I drove off the lot my car acted funny and so I drove it right back. The manager was super helpful and although he couldn't find the problem, troubleshooting began again and within minutes he took it for a drive to be sure. Then he offered to have me drive it with him to be certain I was satisfied. Wow! He wanted to go home but it was clear he wanted a happy customer! Thank you! Very professional shop. Very satisfied. Had a rear main seal replaced on my sisters truck and was charged additional $60.00 over the estimate for a oil pan gasket that had to be removed to replace the seal, which they knew when the estimate was provided. The manager and owner continued to justify the extra $60 and became very disrespectful during our discussion regarding the extra cost. I've been coming here since I bought my car 4 years ago, every 3 months for oil changes, tires, etc. They used to have the time to do the job and sit down with me and explain everything going on/pricing. But now (within the past 2 years) they don't have the time, they do the oil change and that's it. And most the time they are too busy and cannot see me the times I am available. Wish they had more staff or bigger facility because they really are a great company. They always remember me and my car every time I come in!! Love that. read more

Horrible Service!!!! Traveling through Barstow my car broke down after stopping at several mechanic shops on Main Street to find Midas who'd replace an alternator, after installing alternator upon leaving the business as THEY PARKED my vehicle in the front since was closing time. A guy comes out says oh "you need a jump" gives jump and starts. I asked why is it not starting he stated "usually charge the battery while repairing the alternator", it wasn't done. I ask WHY!!! I paid for the service repairs. Went to relative home turn vehicle off to turn back on and "DON'T START" !!!!! This was approximately 6 miles from Midas. My cousin charges the battery for 4 HOURS in which vehicle started up. Well come morning VEHICLE DON'T START AGAIN!!!! This time it's towed to Midas DOORS. So Angela lady works at front office comes out apologizes for all that's occurring they'll get it checked out ASAP, now the BATTERY has to be replaced, at this point have no choice I need get home to AZ 2 1/2 hours away. Battery replaced mechanic test drove vehicle everything fine good to go, mind you this has now costed me $1000.00 CASH!!! I proceeded get on freeway driving home. Here I am at Kelbaker Road on I-40 AC going off and on, panel lights diming, accelerator pedal hits floor board, RMP going back and forth, speedometer falls down to 45mph, mind you 2 toddlers in car seats restrained sleeping. I call Midas spoke to Angela who says pull over turn vehicle off let cool down and restart (THIS IS ON THE DAM FREEWAY) busy as heck with diesels rolling. Angela is apologizing for what's occurring to my vehicle states call tow truck bring back and we will fix. At this point I'm trying get back home and was told the vehicle has been repaired and good to go. I coast vehicle over as soon as put in park it shuts DOWN. During this time it was only GOD protecting us as the vehicle slowed down itself and able get off the freeway from the rolling diesels it was scary and can only imagine how quick I'd have to move to get me and my grandkids off to side of the road. Vehicle never started back up waited and hour and half for tow truck coming from Needles, CA which took us another 2 hours get home. Come Monday vehicle goes into shop a DEFECTED ALTERNATOR was installed in my vehicle BATTERY never needed to be REPLACED. The mechanic here stated we're very blessed to make it home or out of the vehicle alive since the alternator had heat exposed to it as well. We all read of horrible accidents on I40 I thank GOD my guardian angels were watching over me and my grandchildren. I strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND MIDAS for mechanical SERVICE, I remember as a young child my late dad saying their only GOOD for tires and maybe oil changes in which he did himself to his vehicles. This was the worse horrible vehicle repair I've ever received in MY LIFE!!! I was taken advantage of for the costs of repairs. To also mention a alternator was brought in to replace from a shop on main street in which Angela said a piece was broken on it, I asked do you have one in stock she said NO went back to check to come out and say YES we do. So what alternator actually was installed in my vehicle ??? BAD SERVICE at MIDAS in BARSTOW, CALIFORNIA. I will be contacting Midas main cooperation. Please if at all possible while traveling through Barstow ask around for good quality mechanical shop. I had no choice did check several on Main street who didn't do mechanical work on a Saturday or was already full for a Saturday. I thank GOD we're alive !!!!!! read more

I went to this Midas before I moved out of town beginning of July. I knew both of my vehicles needed tires and wanted to safely make the five hour trip to our new place. I noticed a lump in one of my tires and the ride was really bumpy so I took my truck in to get it checked out. I spoke with Daniel and he was very concerned that I had been driving on this tire for over a week. I showed him the spare tire which was pretty bad looking and I told him I couldn't afford a new tire at the moment because of our move. He told me to speak with the lady at the counter about their financing plans. I spoke with Angela who was super nice and fast with the snap application. I was approved for a decent amount so I wanted to speak to Daniel again about getting all new tires for my dodge truck and also if he could order tires for my Cruze. He spent the time showing me the tires he can order and what the cost would be etc. I spent about an hour there going back and forth on what I should do but Daniel was super calm and informative! I went ahead and asked Daniel to order both sets of tires and he told me they would be in the next business day which they were so that was so awesome! I was able to get new tires on both of my vehicles before I had to move. With the amount I was approved for with snap finance, I was able to get my dodges brakes done as well. Their prices were very reasonable and my wait time wasn't bad at all they even offered to give me a ride if I didn't want to stay there so that was amazing!
