The only reason I went to Midas 2 months ago was because Discount Tire damaged the wheel studs on my 2008 Chevy HHR. While I was getting that fixed I had Midas give me an estimate to fix the leak on my exhaust . I was quoted around $550. I thought that wasn't a bad price for the parts I was told they needed to replace. When I picked up the car the leak wasn't repaired. They made it worse and wanted another $900 to fix what was already supposed to be fixed. I took it to Camp's Exhaust and they replaced the catalytic convertor flex pipe for $231. They would have replaced the whole exhaust system cheaper than Midas was wanting to charge me. I never go to another Midas again. They have a bunch of hack mechanics working at all of them. read more

Better off going to a place like Certified Auto Care of Plymouth off of Joy and Sheldon, where they actually care about the customer and their concerns for their vehicle. I took my car in because I was told I needed a new timing chain by a mechanic that came and looked at my car at my home. The car has been stalling out and it was getting dangerous. I told midas this and they looked at my car and told me I did not need a timing chain and they needed to to other reapairs to fix my issue. Seeing as they had it for 2 days before they said this I trusted them to fix it. I paid for the repairs they called and said it was perfect no issues. I picked up my car drive home and same issue still stalling. I took it back same day they kept it another week said that it was fine I complained they had me take it to the midas in Livonia to have it looked at again. The mechanic at that midas called me and Saia I needed a new timing chain. Oh really cause that's what I said in the first place needless to say they did not fix it they still made me pay sna tools me if i wanted the timing chain done it would be another $6,000. I tried to dispute the charge with the midas credit card (commenity) was told they can't help me I need to dispute it with midas. On the phone they said we can't do anything just keep disputing it when I asked with who the man said I don't know so I'm out $2500 and I lost my car because of this I could not spend another $6000 on it and I was never given the choice to decide what to fix because they told me specifically I did not need a tuning chain don't take your car their they lie and there's nothing you can do. read more

Warning never come here!!!I came to this shop with my 2012 Audi A6 because I saw the good reviews and this was one of the first results when I looked up "European car shops." I came to get my pads replaced and a full synthetic oil change. A few hours after I picked up my car I noticed I had an oil leak coming from the oil filter housing. Not only that but they told me I needed new rotors when they inspected the pads. My previous rotors looked better than the cheap new ones they put on because they are already forming a rust lip!! read more

Owner refused to repair damage to truck caused by tech. Tech ran my fender in the wall causing $1,400 damage. They also caused additional damage by not securing the fan clutch cable and it got caught in the fan ripping out wiring. They did pay to have that fixed then refused to fix the fender later because he said they were not responsible for the cable. Says he has proof but refuses to show me. He also threatened to sue me if I came after him. Horrible customer service. The owner is disrespectful to customers and goes back on his word. read more

I brought my car in to get a total overhaul. I avoided any dealer recommended maintenance for quite a few years. I am also passing my car on to my daughter so I wanted it safe for her to drive. Flash forward to dropping my car off - I can not say enough wonderful things about Howard. He immediately made me feel welcome and confident that I made the right decision to bring my car in. The guys went above and beyond and really did an excellent job! The mechanics had quite a job to do (timing belt plus a ton of other little jobs) and now my (daughters) car is running great. I took my stepson's car in to have service. I was very happy with the service they provided. My son has a Dodge charger 2008. The guys really worked with my son because he live out of state and he comes here periodically to work. The Midas guys were very patient with me. They allow me to leave the car on their premises after closing until I could get another person help he it home. They did a good job on car, it's riding like a brand new car. Thanks Midas. This place is a rip off. Besides trying to force me to use synthetic in a 15 year old car that wasn't designed for it,saying it's better when I know full well the viscosity is no good for my 5.0L. But he had the nerve say my rotors are probably shot because I need rear brakes...then he goes to say my rear calibers were seized before they even looked at them. Well, they weren't and I changed my rear pads myself for $45 parts included with just over an hours work. Save yourself the headache and go to a reputable place. Oh and they told my air filter was bad, not knowing that I just changed it not even 10 days prior when I changed the oil. read more

Services we get here are: brakes, oil changes and a variety of services related to oil changes. Where to start..every time I go to a new auto place I like to see how honest and diligent they are. This place failed big time!! First of all, one of my tires has a rim leak and the tire was 5psi under when I went in there yet they reported all tires came in at the correct psi. Thanks Midas for not letting me know I have a rim leak. Lucky for me another auto place discovered it last week. Second, I have a minor oil leak - another Midas pointed it out at my last oil changed and suggested I just keep a eye on it. This Midas no mention of it. Third, they weren't busy at all and this is the first time I've been to a Midas since '09 that they haven't walked me through everything while my car was in the air. Which is helpful and nice if you're like me and don't crawl under your car...and honestly if I did I would have no idea what I'm looking at lol I saved the best for last, they didn't close my hood!! How can you trust people who can't even latch the freaking hood of your car!? Thankfully I didn't jump on 275 or something and instead was able to latch it at a nearby store. Honestly though, they can't latch a hood or tell you correct or HONEST information about your car...there's no point to going here. Waste of money and potentially jeopardizes your safety. read more

Had a really good experience here. I needed new tires, shocks, struts. an oil change, air filters, a belt, and windshield wipers. Basically it was a bunch of crap that I had been neglecting for quite some time. I submitted for quotes at a few places in the area and Ken from this location was the only person who actually picked up a phone and called me. At first he came in higher, but he called me back within 20 minutes and said that he had made a mistake calculating the labor. I appreciated him reaching back out and set an appointment to have him take a look at my car before bringing it in to do the work. They did a full analysis of my vehicle, wrote up the quote, and scheduled me for a Saturday. I dropped the vehicle off and they had it done in a reasonable amount of time considering the fact that I was having so much work done. A few days later, my wife noticed what appeared to be oil leaking from my car. I brought it back to Ken and he diagnosed it as a transmission fluid leak. Obviously not what I wanted to hear after having all that work done, but even though they couldn't help me out (as they don't do transmission work), they diagnosed the problem and told me to monitor it, and welcomed me back if they needed to take another look. All in all, the customer service experience here was top notch. Highly recommend. read more

I came here after having a quote at my previous car shop. They quoted me for over 900$ in work, at Midas they actually showed, and explained to me what work I truly needed, didn't add unecissary items, and came in at 1/4th of the price. So i gave it some time since my repair. You know how it is. Things are "fixed" then the check engine light comes on after you've paid your bill. This is not the case with me. This is a great place. Late Saturday afternoon I was driving on I-275 to pick up my nephew at Metro Airport when I heard a dragging sound. I got off at the next exit and saw that a protective piece had broken off under the front bumper. It wasn't possible to remove it by myself, so I looked up auto places that were still open near me on Google and saw Midas of Canton. I called and was told to bring it on in! When I got there, I was greeted by Ken, the manager, and they took the car right in, put it on the lift and fixed it. I recently had problems with my front right tire assembly. I took my car to Midas because they had very good reviews. When Midas called me to give me an estimate, I was told that it was a "catastrophic failure" and that it would be a couple grand to fix but I wasn't given specific information. I then had my car towed to ohio (where my mechanic is). $400 and 4 hours of his time and my car is running perfectly fine. Unfortunately the employees at Midas are either unknowledgeable or just trying to get one over on someone. Either way I'll never be bringing my car back there again. read more

Just as a light popped up on my dashboard I decided to stop here. I didn't know what it was but the gentleman at the counter was more than happy to go take a look. He instantly told me it was a low coolant warning and he popped my hood and added antifreeze. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I challenge you to find a shop that treats you better anywhere. It was my first time going to this Midas and I needed quite a bit done. Not only did they prioritize my repairs, they finished an hour before they said they would be done. Their install of struts, brake rotors, and brake pads was seamless and at a very reasonable price. Upon leaving they even opened the door of my car for me! I very much recommend their service and their shop. Furthermore, I was very happy to see that they offer a Groupon discount. After reading all good reviews, I took my car to this center. But like other Midas centers this one is also disappointing for me. I had one of the engine light on on my dashboard so I drove my car there and requested for diagnosis. I got a quote for $19.98 for diagnostics. Well that's fine. But then I got a call saying your Oxygen Sensor is not working and you have to pay $320 to fix this issue. They asked $200 for parts (same parts available for $114 in Advance Auto parts and $52 in Amazon.com) but I was told that those are no OEM parts. I still believe them but decided to go to another mechanic to double check the issue. I took my car to another local mechanic and he told me that there is not issue. Probably when they re-set to do diagnostics the lights are gone. Bottom line is, they wanted to make money for the service I don't require anymore. Please do not rip us for God sake!!! read more
