Awful. 4 days after getting an oil change at Midas on NW highway, Dallas tx., I had to get my car towed bc all of the oil leaked out of my car because they had installed a faulty gasket. A day After replacing the faulty gasket, all of my power steering fluid had leaked out, coincidentally 4 months after getting my power steering pump replaced at the same Midas. Took it immediately to Firestone, and they said that the power steering pump that Midas installed was "crammed" in my car and looked like they had done a terrible job at installing it. DONT GO THERE. they will do a rushed and half ass job. read more

I had dropped in to a Tire Store across the street from Midas to have a tire repaired. I have an account for my organization at this shop. I was give a wait estimate of over an hour. I went across the street to Midas because I was short on time, deciding to pay for repairs out of my own pocket. The manager came out, looked at the tire and said "no problem". Gave my keys to one of the crew and 15 minutes later it was fixed. When I went to pay, the manager said "no charge, have a great day". This shop just won my lasting business. read more

They said sure come on down Then I get there and they tell me they don't have time to help me they're too busy. 3 mechanics were sitting on their phones with 2 bays open Now checking brakes is about a 5 minute job if your gonna smoke a cigar and eat a burger between taking the wheel on and off. read more

I would have given a 5 star review because the guy behind the desk was super nice. My check engine light was on so I went to Midas. I left my car with them for the morning. They did a diagnostic test and they let me know there were three things that needed attention. He sent an estimate for the repairs. One of them could not be done because they didn't have the part in stock and it needed to be ordered. I could drive my care without that and could come back in a couple of weeks for the repair. Another service was needed but I had asked them not to do it because I had someone that could do it for me, it was something easy. So I just had a tuneup, spark plugs were replaced and a couple of belts. This was all communicated through text. When I picked up the car I paid the bill knowing in my head what the total was. After the card was ran I took the invoice and noticed it was higher than what I had figured it would be. They had done the one service that I had asked them not to do and told me that they couldn't do a refund since I had already paid. He apologized and I appreciated that but....That's unfortunate because I really liked the service man but because of that I probably won't go back. Things are tight for everyone right now and I was really trying to help myself keep the cost low. read more

Upon arrival at 4:50pm I'm informed that I was scheduled for 3:30pm and verified that the email notice was sent and received at 4:41pm and they wouldn't see me. After shopping several other places I was drawn to Midas both by the great price & by the kindness offered to me when I called with questions. They genuinely cared about my situation and that made such a difference. Unfortunately a week later I ran over a nail and had a flat tire. I was so frustrated as I'd just got new tires. I bought it back here and they were able to fix it, I was also relieved to find out that with the warranty I had if I did have to get it replaced it was only going to cost me $20. They took great care of me & were also very pleasant to visit with while I was waiting. Now I come here for all my maintenance! They always do the right thing, they're friendly and courteous. Once I made the drive up there, they told me they actually don't carry synthetic blend and then tried to upsell me on the full synthetic for over double the price. I had such an excellent experience at Midas today. Randy (the manager) is such a personable guy. He reminds me a lot of my dad, in the best of ways. I had been recently to the Hyundai dealership and had a laundry list of things that "urgently needed to be addressed." Randy showed me the one thing that truly needed fixing, and it wasn't even something the dealership had reported/ commented on... And I was just at the dealership a few weeks ago!! Super reasonable prices for oil change and work on your vehicle. Best of all, that customer service piece really shines. That's something often missing in the auto industry, which is regrettable fraught with questionable business practices and taking advantage of people, particularly females. I will be back!! This location has reopened as of January 2019 with Randy being the new manager. I was VERY thankful I chose to stop by Midas today for my car needs after noticing it driving by!! read more

Took my car in yesterday morning for an oil change. I called early, about 7:45am, and they told me I could bring it in without an appointment between 8:30 and 9:30. I got there about 9, and they had me out by 10. I took my car to a Midas before I lived in Dallas, and I felt just as comfortable here as I did in my old location. They treated me like a kid sister, or a favorite niece, I never felt like they we're going to take advantage of my lack of knowledge. This is how I felt at my old location too, which just endears me to Midas even more. I felt comfortable waiting in the waiting room, good AC, History Channel on, a nice wide variety of current magazines (including Allure and Conde Naste Travel) and free WiFi. Even more reassuring that i had made the right choice were the other single women my age who were there. I have always appreciated their multiple point inspection, and the quotes on the work that needs to be done, and was not disappointed. I will absolutely be taking my car back here for work, and will recommended them to my friends. read more

I stated to them a noise coming from the passenger tire, they recommended new ones. Turns out after purchasing the tires it was a wheel bearing that needed to be replaced. They hustled me, on top of that they misdiagnosed the location of the wheel bearing and over priced me to fix it. They are not trust worthy or worth your time. read more

Midas quoted me $1500 for an A/C problem. They said I need to replace the compressor when the compressor, I later discovered, is not causing the issue. Besides this grossly inaccurate diagnosis (that took them an hour a half, with no updates until they finished), they performed a "courtesy" check, where they checked off at least three items that in fact needed attention - including engine oil that was so low it could have caused major engine issues. They also explicitly told me that my tires were low and they pumped them up. I looked at them a couple of days later and they were at 19 psi, when they should be at 33 psi. I don't know if these guys have no idea what they're doing in the garage, or if they are regularly dishonest and lie to their customers, but either way, I have lost all trust in Midas mechanics' ability to do their job and conduct honest business. I feel completely unsafe servicing my car at Midas. read more

I had shopped around at other name brand places to get estimates for my brakes. They all gave me one high price and, of course, tried to up sale me on miscellaneous services. When I went to get an estimate from Randy at Midas, I was a little nervous because I was thinking I might get the same run around as the other places. He was very friendly and was able to give me 3 options at different price points. No run around at all. I took my car in the next weekend and was greeted by Randy with a big smile. He got me all set up in the system with some hilarious small talk. I was able to choose the option that best fit my need and budget and they did a great job! Darn the coupons that draw me in. Went around 1030am on Black Friday and was the only one in the waiting area. I needed an oil change and my state inspection done. I was surprised when they told me the state inspection was $39.95, $5 higher than most places. I was told its been this price for awhile. Since I was there and needed it done, I said ok. Later I checked other places and they were all indeed $5 less. At the end, a man (the manager I believe) walked me through my car's needs... A total of $1000 in repairs! And of course, they could help me that day. I opted to discuss with the hubs and come back. If this happens, I'd get a second opinion before saying yes to the additional services. Every time I come here, I always feel like I'm getting ripped off. They keep coming up with a list of things that are wrong with my car and the labor costs for them are insane. One time, I needed to get my rotor replaced and they quoted me at about $550-$600 and I had called Toyota of Dallas to ask for their quote which was $420. I called Midas again and they lowered their price. Another time, I came here for an oil change and they gave me a list of things wrong with my car and cost of all the labor and parts was $1500. It may just be their tactic of getting more business by coming up with things that are wrong with my car, but it just seems like they are trying to fool me because they think I don't know any better. read more

I'm very unimpressed with this shop. I brought my truck in because a rotten egg smell was coming from under the hood. I googled the problem, and all the results said that it was probably a battery issue; figuring this would be quick and cheap, I went for the closest option rather than the trusted family mechanic that is a bit farther away. I called ahead to ask if they had time to take a look, and they said they did, but proceeded to not look at the car for another 5 hours (so much for saving time by going to the closer place). I told them that I thought it was a battery issue. They then called me to inform me that they recommended replacing all of the catalytic converters and oxygen sensors for 2500 bucks. The truck is only worth 3500. No mention of the battery. I took it to get a second opinion at the shop my family goes to, and they solved my problem (surprise! It was the battery and alternator!) for less than 400 bucks. I'll suspend judgement on what went wrong, but clearly going to Midas was the wrong decision. I won't be making that mistake again. read more
