No biggie though, she's not working on your car. Moving on... They are friendly and no wait with an appointment. They have a small cable TV in the waiting room and cold water. The A/C is running on this hot day. I saw their coupon here on Yelp for a Preferred Oil Change for $29.95. Remember, that is for up to 5 quarts. My 2013 Mustang GT takes 8, so the cost was higher. I'm okay with that, but some folks might not be. My only other gripe, and it's only a small one, is that the manager said the price for the oil change is already discounted at $29.95, but their price screen in the lobby says $29.95 for Preferred. I asked if they could apply a military discount (yes, I served) and she said no. It seems a little misleading to have a "coupon" for the full price of an oil change and then not offer to apply a discount that you took the time to place on your coupons/ discounts page on Yelp, especially towards the extra 3 quarts of oil. That's just me being picky though. I was still spared the labor of doing it myself on a 90 degree day, so I'll take it this time.

I do not recommend using this garage as a service provider. Their time management is poor; I…read moredropped my vehicle off one afternoon with an appointment and I was not given a diagnosis until nearly noon the next day. I was told that the vehicle would be ready for pickup the following morning. The vehicle was not put back together until noon and once it was back together the problem was still happening, they tacked on additional parts and service. In total they had my vehicle for 3 full days. Their diagnosis was incorrect. I was quoted for an alternator and a battery to fix the issue, once the car was back together the issue persisted. I was then told I needed a new ignition coil, that was installed and I was told the vehicle was ready for pick up. Upon pick up the problem was still there. In total I was charged a tab of a few thousand dollars for the problem to persist. I took it upon myself to research into the issue, because these days no one has time or capital to waste on needless repairs. After several weeks and at least 2 opinions I was informed that the issue was unrelated to the alternator and battery and that it concerned the engine systems instead. I took the car back to this location to have them check it once more and this time their computers read the codes that they did not state in the original diagnostic, the same codes I had checked for on my own. I was then told it would cost another $500 to fix the issue. I declined, based off the experience so far because no results had been reached and I was still adding to the original bill. I also asked if I would still be responsible for the cost of the parts and labor that did not solve the problem and I was told " Well they would have become a problem eventually." Finally they gave a service that I was unaware of and that could have potentially damaged the vehicle further. I was not aware that an oil change was made on the car as it did not show anywhere on the receipt. While troubleshooting the problem on my own I found the oil had a burning smell to it and there was sludge build up in one of the plugs. I had to do an emergency flush of the motor and another oil change which again added to the bill and I have no way of knowing what was done in that regard because I have no record. Overall this has been a less than savory experience and I would not recommend this garage as a service provider.

Went to Mr. Tire on Rt 18 in East Brunswick last week for a synthetic oil change for my older…read moreLexus. (I only went there because I bought my Goodyear Assurance Tires there a few months back and tire rotations are FREE). That was my third time. First was for the tire replacement where they told me I needed new struts, brakes, and a steering rack. (The struts and brakes were replaced no more than 1K miles prior.) The second time I brought my girlfriends AWD Lexus for an oil change and they said a rotation was not required? The first thing I did (an I suggest you do) is I marked the right front tire with a small mark from a pink sharpe as I had a similar problem with Mavis on Rt. 18 in East Brunswick not rotating the tires after they said they did. They were very nice of course when I came in, pulled the car in promptly. About 30 min later the "gentleman" that was at the front desk approached me with a very worried look. He said, listed you have a few problems. Firstly, your spark plugs are misfiring and all need to be replaced. (I did replace the plugs and coils at Toyota less than 100K ago but maybe it was legit.) He also said I needed a coolant flush, and my power steering was leaking. I knew about the drip from the power steering rack as another shop told me to just keep an eye on it but I would not worry about replacing the rack at this time. I denied the services and the "gentlemans" demeanor changed. He pulled my car out, I scanned my Amex and went outside. Of course I went over to the right front tire and yes, the right front tire with the pink sharpie mark was still there. I went inside and asked "did you guys rotate the tires?" Almost immediately he said YES. I asked again, "You sure"? He said let me check and went out to the garage. He came back and said, I will do it now just give me your keys. A long rant but my point is to STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. Very dishonest and at this point I would not recommend anyone go there unless you have an emergency like a nail in your tire.

I waited while the shocks arrived from Autozone. They took off my old shocks in the interim. When they arrived during the installation I asked to see the shocks, the manager went into the shop and returned saying they were Duralast and the same as KYB but was AutoZone's brand. Not even close to being the same, the shocks removed although being old had a stiffer ride. I told them I tow a trailer. Durolast has a softer ride not stiff as KYB. I told the manager I am getting aggravated as first the price changed, then told they were KYB's, then told Durolasts are the same as KYB but was AutoZones version. I would not recommend going here. While the work itself was good, their sales tactics are unprofessional.

Staff was polite, respectful and accommodating to be sure, but their troubleshooting techniques and/or overall honesty are questionable, to say the least. I took my vehicle to AAMCO because of a check engine light and my car being stuck in "limp mode" (not shifting past 3rd gear). Was told they would perform a free multi point inspection and they will call me with results, that was Friday afternoon. When I got the call on Monday morning, I was told that the multi point checked out fine and the technician would need to do further testing and the charge would be $289.00. I agreed and again I was told that I would be called back. After a few hours I received a call and was told. The additional test results were fine and they needed to open up my transmission, as the problem was an internal problem. The cost as opening up the transmission was $2495.00, this is when my BS early warning system went off. I have an issue when a craftsman is not able to explain to me the results of the test they suggested. "The results checked out fine" is not an explanation, it's BS and clearly shows the technician's lack of troubleshooting ability. Also, when I pressed the account manager on how much this can ultimately cost me, I was told that I couldn't be given a number because of other factors that could impact the amount. More BS. Long story short, I picked up my car, paid the $289 "troubleshooting" cost and drove it to another auto shop nearby. The following day I called the account manager and began questioning the events of the previous two days and what was actually done. I won't get into all the details but let's just say that AAMCO couldn't prove that the testing they "performed" was necessary or even done on the day they suggested it be done. Ultimately, my final interaction with AAMCO was the account manager offering to refund me the $289.00. So I asked you, all the Yelp users looking for advice, "why would a business that performs testing for a price, refund that amount when questioned about what and how they did that testing?" Hope this helps you make an informed decision.

After leaving my car there for over a month, after being told only 10 days, I picked it up with a variety of problems that weren't occurring when I had brought the car in. These issues go as followed- car over heating, 3 different lights on the dash (air bag, traction control and a P0038 check engine code), missing bolts on intake manifold and coolant reservoir, ac wasn't blowing out cold air (they disconnected all the ac lines to the condenser to get the front end off and didn't fill it back with refrigerant), ac making an incredibly loud noise (leak from the hose), dust shield rubbing heavy on the front rotors causing a loud metal on metal sound, and last but not least they got grease all over the cloth of the inside of my car on drivers side. Overall horrible experience and horrible customer service. Had to go back and forth with them for awhile until they finally told me to fix their mistakes MYSELF. How unprofessional is that.. If I were you I wouldn't bring my personal car over there, let them deal with diesel or construction vehicles. Also paid $1000 cash for a very unfinished car. In the end I had to buy my own refrigerant and vacuum the lines out and fill it up myself, also had to bend the dust shields off the rotor myself. Also I'm going to have to get my car detailed and hope the grease stains come out the cloth on the interior.
