Very Shady business. I went to the Midas in Powdersville to have the air checked in my tire, the light came on the dash. This guy checked it and found a nail. He said he could fix it, but instead of charging me the $25 -$30.00 fee, I could just tip him instead. He walked over the another employee and spoke, then came back and said his boss gave him permission to just do the tip. As he was repairing the tire, I let him know I didn't have any cash but could do a card. He kept trying to get me to go Ingles grocery store for cash back or the nearest bank. I let him know I was not interested in doing that, I had to get back to work and don't have time to go all over looking for cash somewhere. I told him I would pay by card. He then said not to worry about it and have a nice day. He wouldn't take my card. I was willing to pay. Another thing, not one person had on a uniform shirt. Everyone wore tee shirts. You couldn't tell who was the customer and who was the employee. Very odd place. Pretty shady. I won't be going back there again. I feel bad for the owner. read more

If I wanted to neighborhood drunks to fix it I would have taken it there! They say they offer complimentary courtesy checks... but don't check anything. I had my '71 F100 towed over to Midas for a brake job. While I did mention that there was "no rush" on the truck, it was a full week before anyone gave me any information, and that was only because I went out there in person. Then the "that's where the truck is taking us" routine begins. First, there's a problem with the differential. Being a 52-year-old truck, I can believe that, so I authorized that service. Then I was informed that the battery was completely dead and needed to be replaced, and that there could be issues with the charging system. Given that I had disconnected the battery about a month prior to taking it to Midas to avoid that very issue, I was sceptical, but authorized the battery replacement all the same. The bill ballooned out to $1800. Just wanting my truck back, I paid without question...that is until I got to the truck. Opening the driver's door, I see that the brake and clutch pedal pads have been removed, and are laying in the floorboard. I can't think of any reason why that would have been done, but I put them back on and thought little of it. Then I started the truck. The sound of animals fighting for their lives started coming from under the hood. As it turns out, they went ahead and replaced the belt (which was perfectly fine), but didn't bother to tighten it down. Then I notice that the dash switch/plunger for the cargo area light is gone...just a lightbulb sticking out of the dash now. After seeing the pedal pads inexplicably removed, now I have to wonder what else has been tampered with and/or removed. I made my issues very clear to the staff, and was promised that I would be receiving a call from either the store manager or district manager first thing Monday morning (its Tuesday afternoon...not a peep). If you like your vehicle and your money, stay away...far, far away. read more

This place is terrible, went it for a Uber/ lyft inspection and they failed because my "parking break is not holding the vehicle to their standards" the funny thing is I've always had my inspections done there, never had anything work done to my parking break ever since I got the car and they always passed me on my previous inspections. I asked the older gentleman behind the counter, who was extremely rude btw "how come I passed in the previous years" ? And he goes " well we might have missed that " and I go "where is the consistency on these inspections?" He got real mad because he didn't know how to answer my question. Horrible experience and I'll make sure to tell everyone I know to avoid it this place and I will also be on touch with Uber and lyft to share my experience regarding the consistency of their inspection process. read more

Oil changes with full inspections, as well as tire rotations are always quick & easy, but twice I have had major issues with my car & they have shown absolute excellence from the first phone call to an honest diagnosis- getting the parts in quickly, & doing great work with the best price. Received very rude service from the front desk guy. Called in and told the model of my car and all that good stuff. I get there and he has no record of anything I had called in. I think he thought I was some girl who knew not one thing about cars. He told me my place I normally would go to would charge me more than $35. I only came to this place because I had a coupon. He told me about 20 times I could call my dad and he could talk to him and explain it. I'm 18 years old, it's my car, and I'm paying with my money. I go out to my car and wait for them to move a car behind me and not even 5 minutes later the man comes out to my car. He asks me if I've called my dad yet. No I'm not going to, after I told him 50 other times I wasn't calling him. He told me that my regular place was ridiculous. And I was like that's the price and he goes on and then says "whatever.
