Please Stay Away from Midas Irvington and Midas in general!! They are scamming people left and right by charging services that are not needed but they lie and deceive you into thinking a required service has to be done in order to repair the initial problem, which leads to a dishonest domino effect of pricing to drain your wallets -- just read the other comments. Here's my experience: I went to Midas Irvington to get new rear brake pads and rotors. After the tech 'inspected' the brakes, they told me I needed a right rear brake caliper and brake flush in order to do the complete brake job. So now, a $500 job turned into a $1000+ job.. I had them do the service anyway because I thought they were trust worthy. Subsequently, after doing research, I came to the conclusion that my car was never experiencing any symptoms that indicates that I needed a rear brake caliper. Instead, Midas lied and upsold me. There is a post from 10 years ago on, Reddit, about how Midas lies to their customers on them needing a brake caliper and brake flush in order to warranty their brakes.. if only I saw that post before stepping into Midas. But here's the kicker and most important detail that Midas are scammers: Every recommended service that Midas said I needed, was debunked and cleared by not only one mechanic shop but two (full report pdf as proof), one of them being the dealership's service department. So that means, if Midas lied and said I needed services that totaled to nearly $5,000 (control arm, catalytic converter, engine mounts, fuel services) it's safe to say that I never needed a brake flush nor a rear brake caliper in the first place. My check engine light has never ever came on in my car since purchase, but Midas has the nerve to tell me I need a new catalytic converter which is about $1600-$2500, lol. I made a complaint to Midas and the Regional Manager, Mona Patel, reached out to me. I told her about the incident and that I have proof and she never responded which is expected from a business that scams the people out of their money. Please Stay Away from Midas and save your money. These people are dishonest and untrustworthy all in the name of profit. I go to this place for all of my car needs. Mr. John and Mr. Ralph always take care of me and I greatly appreciate them. They have taken care of my tires, oil, windshield wipers, and a minor glitch in my car. They will always have my service as long as these two are around. Good value. The only reason this business is getting one star is because of how nice they are when they try to rip you off. I went there for a brake inspection. They were very thorough and explained everything. I received an estimate of $780 for front brake pads, rotor replacement and a brake fluid exchange. REALLY? $780??? On top of that, the male employees were looking for any reason to come into the lobby to stare at me like they've never seen a woman before. I took my car to Pep Boys who gave me an estimate of $412, plus a 15% off coupon which brought it to $350...nearly half of what Midas would have charged me. I serviced my Toyota at Midas for brakes and had to go to the dealership to eventually have the job done right. One of the calipers was stripped and had to be replaced and all rotors were wrapped after less than 10K miles, even with little use of the brakes. The service technician at the dealership had to make adjustments because of a job poorly done initially at Midas. read more

Every time I come here, I am greeted by John and Ralph. They have awesome customer service and are very professional. The mechanic, Anthony was very thorough and did the repairs in a timely manner. I know some places will try to rip you off, but NOT here. They are honest in what needs to be done on the car. I have never had an issue and I will continue to bring my Rav4 here. I was just here on Saturday and I always leave satisfied. I would definitely recommend this location for your repairs. I won't even trust the dealership with my brakes but I will trust Midas especially since they offer the lifetime guarantee. read more

Wouldn't advise anyone to go there. I went there once for a wheel balance and I was told I needed wiper blades. Went there a few days later for tire rotation they said they can't do it because my wheel bearings is bad. If you're a female that don't know much about cars you'll get ripped off. I'm lucky I know some things about cars. They even told me driving would cause my wheel to come flying off. I drove over 2000 miles that summer and I was just fine. How slow these guys work you would think they were charging by the minute. Took over an hour to do a simple oil change and tire rotation. Previous place I went to (in Queens) did the exact same thing and I received a free car wash and it took that place about 20 minutes give or so. Never again. Oh and the guy who did the oil change left oil residue all over my steering wheel and on my inside car door. They had the nerve to put a floor mat in there to keep his dirty feet off. RALPH the worker at the location REFUSED to complete a standard [NON-SYNTHETIC} oil change on a 15 year old car with 150,000, which has never had synthetic in it before.  Additionally, even though the oil cap states 5-20 as recommended, the manual also affords 5-30 as an option.  RALPH also refused this 5-30 options stating, with loud rude voice and finger pointing at me, while another customer watched, "we do not do what you want, we do what we are allowed. We do what is on the cap"* He never explained who sets the rules about what is/not allowed. A very poor communicator.  *BTW I'd like to add, the oil cap does not state the word 'synthetic' anywhere on it. Also the manual does not state 'synthetic' required NOR suggested. However manual does state that synthetic can be used if owner so chooses. I do not so choose! But again... "we do not do what you (the customer) want...." I have logged a complaint with Midas. They will tell the franchise owner to call me within 48 hours. His name is Herbert. This place is a COMPLETE RIP OFF...go elsewhere, they will charge you an arm && a leg for simple shit, && they are very rude && dishonest...I took my car here once for an oil change && after they were finished, they told me, "your engine is making a noise" so I'm like well what noise are you talking about??? Anyway, I ended up taking it to my mechanic && he told me after checking everything, ntn was wrong with my engine...It wasnt my engine making noise, it was something else...These guys will tell you anything just to get you to spend money with them...&& did I mention how OVERPRICED they are?!?!
