Since I am now getting ready to go back, I asked my local garage to check it out. Although I have been satisfied with their work in the past, I was not satisfied with their saying that is was not a wheel bearing and not to worry. So I took it to Marty based on the couple of 5-star ratings he got elsewhere. He took it for a test drive with me riding along, and after some swerves at speed said he thought it was the left front bearing ... but that he would swap the front tires and test again. I have never had that level of analysis before, and it was free. He confirmed then replaced it plus swapped the front and rear tires to balance wear - all for about $300 on a 15 year old vehicle that has not been made since 2010. His mechanic said he had been in the Miami area for decades but moved north last June. Lucky us he picked Lake Park.

Their diagnosis did not sit right with me so I contacted my brother and he referred me to his personal mechanic. Well it turns out there was a hole in my exhaust pipe !!! I will insert a picture. This place is a scam. My $607 bill for my brakes and rotors to be replaced turned into $971 bill…read moredue to 3 lug studs and 4 lug nuts being broken/ damage. While 1 lug stud was in fact old and already broken clearly 2 had been broken while in the shop at Allstar. Yet, they charged me almost $300 which was dropped by ~$150 bc they "took 30 mins to do the repairs rather than an hour". When I arrived to view the damage I was told that the studs broke due to erosion. As you can see by the pictures below the brake is clean and shiny, no erosion. Its not old. Its not "easy to break" and these things dont "break all the time" as I was told by Wade, THE OWNER. Nor is it threded and thats why its stuck. Clearly, the mechanic working on my car, Danny, put too much tension on the stud when taking it off and it broke. This place takes advantage of those who dont fully understand car maintenance and try to gas light you into thinking their upcharges are valid and necessary. Scare you into thinking if you wait or dont get the repairs you will damage ur vehicle more. The department of agriculture will be in contact.

We considered the dealership but the car is 10 years old. Aside from being out of warranty, we figured the dealership would try to sell us a new car, which isn't happening. We bought the car new. It only has 50,000 miles on it, and this is the first major issue in 10 years. I asked someone in the auto body business, whom I've known for about 15 years, and he recommended All Star. The repair/replacement was more complicated than anticipated, going from having to remove the dashboard to replace the evaporator coil, to additional parts and labor. So, it took longer, and was more expensive than originally quoted. We also had to share the use of the other car, as we could not afford a rental, and public transportation was not an option either. However, All Star worked with us. They were always courteous and respectful. So far, the AC works fine, and Wade followed up to ask us how things went.

Within days, all four tires began losing air, and one tire went completely flat after the vehicle sat for only three days. The alignment they performed the same day is also off, making the ride unstable and unsafe. I have reported this issue to Pep Boys online multiple times. Every reply is a generic "we will forward your concern to field leadership," yet no one has contacted me or offered a solution for over a month. I'm now forced to reinflate the tires before driving, which is extremely dangerous and unacceptable for "new" tires. The lack of accountability, response or concern for customer safety has caused unnecessary stress and financial strain. Customers deserve safe products and real support... not automated replies. This issue is ongoing as I am still waiting resolution. This has been the most disappointing service experience I've had with any automotive shop.
