Went to Midas Kauai last Friday to fix check engine light. Diagnosed by Adam ( great Midas associate) as a faulty fuel filter. Dealt with Chad ( the manager ) the next day. The check engine light didn't go away after the installation and the bill was paid. When I approached Chad, he stated the fuel filter repair had nothing to do with the check engine light? Really? He also wanted $185 to inspect the engine again? Really? He also refused to say the problem was resolved on the bill which was desperately needed....my car is for sale. Bottom line, my issue is similar to other customers listed below, including the troubling fact Chad's young daughter was sitting in the customer lounge the entire day. Highly unprofessional and potentially a Child Protective Services issue? Customers noticed and everyone felt sorry for the child. Chad's response to my concerns was a do nothing say nothing phone call today which prompted this review. I was forced to take the car to another vendor and paid an additional $199 to reset the check engine light. Run away from this Midas until its run properly. The only good review on line is the one written by Chad himself? A very weird experience. read more

A real professional operation. I needed some minor service and got an appointment the next day. They did the work neatly and got me out of there right on time. SO much better of an experience than at the dealer, and for a significantly lower price. Best of all, Chad did not try to upsell me on unneeded services - I hate that. I would not hesitate to use Lihue Midas again or to recommend them to my friends and ohana. read more

Had to get a safety check and these guys were awesome. They welcomed me in, polite, got me in and out fairly quickly. I arrived at opening so it was somewhat quiet. read more

Plenty friendly and helpful but very costly. Labor is higher than others and they charged a lot for a remanufactured part and didn't tell me they were not using a new part (for the quote they gave). Try to shop around if you can because you'll pay a lot here. I do appreciate they got me back on the road same day. read more

Fixed my leaky tire. Took about 20 min at 8am on a Saturday. Wish they would have checked the tire pressure and filled all the tires as a courtesy. All good though. And painless. read more

I emailed the shop on a Saturday and was able to schedule a safety check appointment for the following Monday. The service provided by the gentleman at the service counter was excellent. He provded me with frequent updates regarding the safety inspection for my vehicle while I waited. The wait is minor considering the fact that the safety check will be good for another year! read more

This last time, especially, was very pleasant as the new Manager, Rowdy, was super friendly and helpful. The Midas guys are great! Had a flat tire and took it to Midas and they were able to fix it and even installed it back on my car for me. What seemed like a dreadful emergency turned into a very pleasant experience! this location and manager suck. i have a hard time believing the other reviews as I have been to this kauai locaton three times and have been dissapointed every time. this last visit for a oil change and tire rotation was the last straw. this manager chad after I had asked for a quote had told me 109.00 estimate for oil change over the phone as I learned from my last visit to get a estimate. when i left midas kauai chad charged me 123 dollars and got oil on my carpets and did not put down a paper on the floor and did not rotate tires as i requested. this unusually impolite manager chad informed me, when I called with my dissapointment that tires were not rotated, as I requested,that I paid for a oil change and they recommend that tires not be rotated for safety reasons and he refuses to honor my wishes in rotating tires.I will never visit another midas and would reccomend any where else for auto services unless you like the feeling of being ripped off by big corporations and ignored about complaints and then bullied by midas management and still not getting what you paid for. horrible experience, never again, use local shops. They will give you a lowball estimate/quote, and when the time comes to pay your bill, it's tripled. They give every excuse possible as to why it cost more than originally agreed upon.
