I can't recommend this Midas location enough. I came in hoping to finally find a trustworthy go-to spot for car care in LA, and I'm happy to say I've found it. My AC had been cutting out for a while, so I brought my car in for an inspection. After a thorough check, they found the issue was a faulty AC compressor and replaced it the same day. The AC is now working perfectly, and I wish I'd come here sooner instead of putting it off for years. Cesar and Fernando are the kind of people who make you feel like family the moment you walk in. They take the time to explain everything, answer questions, and work with you to figure out what's most important for your car's needs. I was LONG overdue for an oil change, and I found a coupon online for a discount to Midas, so I tried it out. Service was prompt and the workers were very kind! I appreciate them honoring the discount I found on the internet. That was clutch. I did have to return because the numbers they put on my sticker were incorrect. I ended up getting in an accident and the body shop says that I don't have any oil in my engine, or enough to register on their pipe. So it appears maybe the oil change wasn't as thorough as it could've been, but I should've still had oil for another 2,000 miles. That's the only reason I'm taking away a star. They were super nice, and who knows, there could be another issue for why my oil is low so early. But the worker was able to point out that my water reservoir was leaking, and that's why the windshield spray never deployed. I arrived when they first opened, they didn't officially open up until 10am. They're EVERY UNPROFESSIONAL! RUDE! CANT SPEAK ENGLISH. They need to CLOSE DOWN this location ASAP. The phone rang for the duration I was there waiting to be greet in the front. THERE WAS ONLY 1 MECHANIC ON SITE. Someone finally came from the back room and answered the phone and hung it right up. I went in for a battery and charging system checkup, and possible repairs if needed, due to some issues I was experiencing. I spoke with Cesar, and he gave me a quote of $1,450 for replacing the battery, alternator, brake pads, and rotors. I agreed to proceed based on that quote. However, when the repair was completed and I went back to pick up my car, he told me the total was almost $1,800. I ended up paying $1,600, which was significantly more than the original quote. No one called me to confirm the price increase or to ask if I still wanted to proceed with the repairs. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of transparency and Cesar's dishonesty. read more

I dropped off my 2009 Nissan Versa on 7-17 for an ignition coil replacement, and they said it would take a few days. On 7-25, they called me to tell me they started working on the car (finally). Fernando told me they changed 3 ignition coils, and the bill was $700. When they gave me the car back, I drove about 5 miles before the radiator gave in, the engine died on me, and the key was left stuck in the ignition. I called the shop back, and they offered to take a look at it. On 7-29, Caesar called me to inform me that a New Radiator Fan Motor was needed; they wanted $1500 to fix it, but they would do it for $1000. When I asked about the key being stuck, if maybe a mechanic forced it, the Manager said they don't have any explanation to give me. I would not recommend this place to anybody; they are price-gauging big time, and you might leave with more problems on your car than you started with. Their timing is off, too. If they say 3 days, that means one week. Save yourself time, money, and headaches, and run as far as possible from this ''mechanic''. read more

I was on my way somewhere when I noticed an extremely flat tire. Thought it just needed some air, so I drove the car to a nearby gas station just to see an enormous nail in the hind tire. I proceeded to call Midas since it was an auto shop closest to me, courtesy of Yelp. I spoke with Eric on the phone and he said to bring it in to take a look. Upon arrival, we inspect the car together and Eric agreed that tire is patchable since the nail is lodged in the steel belt. He got the job started and assured that it'll be done on a timely manner so I can attend my niece's soccer game. Amazing service by Eric from start to finish! Had to call 2 days later to confirm, that should have been a red flag right there. Showed up for the appt as scheduled, the service manager said he was in the middle of something and would be right with me. After sitting directly in front of him waiting for more than a half hour, with one person arriving after me getting serviced immediately, I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. Service manager got belligerent when I mentioned he had ignored me for a full half hour. It looks like this place is very hit or miss, for me it was a big miss. Wow! I wondered why they had the trunk gate open on my car when all they were working on is the alignment. It turns out they are thieves!!! I didn't realize I had to remove everything that wasn't bolted down before letting them touch it. The technicians at this location have sticky fingers. I had an appointment set for 5:30, but they called asking if I could come earlier. I said I could, as long as I still had my 30-minute grace period since LA traffic can be unpredictable. Fernando on the phone agreed. I showed up at 5:18, but he refused to honor the agreement and said I was more than 15 minutes late. This Midas location has a dishonest employee name Alexis Meza. I took my Ford Fusion Titanium in to be serviced because it was leaking anti freeze. Alexis Meza inspected my vehicle & returned to tell me I needed a water pump, radiator & a few other parts. Something inside me told me he was lying. So I declined his service. Alexis Meza told me I can't drive my car, that it would blow up my engine & I must get it done now. I told Alexis Meza I would have Triple A tow my vehicle. He quickly asked was I taking it to another mechanic & if so he could work with me on the price. He kept insisting I keep my car there which made me grow more suspicious. Triple A towed my Ford to my trusted mechanic in OC. He fixed my car & all I needed was a radiator & I saved nearly $1,000 that Alexis Meza was trying to scam me out of. Went in to ask for an oil filter to be tightened as I was unable to do it myself at that moment. A worker comes out of the office grinding his teeth as if he were on drugs just repeating "I can't do it right now" over and over, until I stated that I was willing to wait he finally said that the shop was closing in 45 minutes they had too many vehicles to service- all but one of the bays were empty. Only good thing he did was direct me to a nearby pep boys. I told pep boys what my issue was and they moved me up to the front of the line and took care of me in 10 minutes and didn't even charge me for it even when I was willing to pay. I came in for help where a man named Fernando came in to help me and advised me there was only appointments only which I was fine with and was willing to work with that and agreed to 2pm . As I went into the car to go back and get my coupon and receipt to confirm appointment which I was willing to pay for regardless I came back to find out he gave my appointment I already agreed on for 2 to someone else and began to get very rude and not help me out at all After I already droved 40 minutes to get here and was gonna wait another 3 hours for my appointment. So he placed me on hold for (5:31) seconds before a different gentlemen, who had no idea of my situation picks up and asks, "How can I help you?" So I say, uhm... I've been on hold for 5mins waiting for an appointment confirmation? Without saying anything about my hold time he just says, "Oh if we didn't call you that means it's not confirmed and somone else booked that time." Stay Away, unless you want to throw away your money and get scammed!! I went in to get my check engine light checked. As soon as I walked in, they advised me it would take over an hour or two just to find out what would be the diagnostic. LITERALLY all they did was lifted my car, checked the tire pressure, brought it down, checked under the hood for half a second and walked away for nearly 45 minutes. Just so they can tell me they found a laundry list full of issues that would cost me over $2k to fix. I ended up going to the dealership right after and turns out only ONE issue needed to be fixed for only $190. I honestly recommend going literally any where else!! read more

Have been taking cars here for years. They use to do a good job and the costumer service was great. However, lately they've been slacking. I took my car for a simple oil change in the morning and did not get it back until 3pm. I understand it may get busy but a courtesy call would have been nice. I had to call to get an update on my car. To make things worse when I picked up my car a low oil light was on. As if they did nothing. When confronted they told me it would go away soon. I waited and ended up taking it back because this time the battery light came on. Midas checked it again...
