I had a great experience today at this store. I stopped by last week to check on the tire on my rental car being low. Andrew was so kind and helpful. I made a mental note that if I needed any work done, I would go there. I made an appointment with Brittany who was also very nice and good at her job. They held true to my appointment time at 8 am and I also added an oil change to tire installation and was all done at 9:15, which is pretty amazing compared to a lot of my previous appointments with auto repair shops!! Tell Steve to get a personality. He is not a good representative of Midas. He's drab, dull and not a people person. When I mentioned a horrible experience I had with a competitor, he had no interest who it was. I went for an oil change, ended up paying 570.00. I needed a wheel bearing. When I asked Steve for a rough estimate, he got very upset and wouldn't give an estimate. I persisted, he gave me a price range of $300 - $500. I was there for 31/2 hours. When finished, didn't even get a thank you from Steve. The car runs great, but I'll never go back to that Midas ever again because of Steve. Where the hell is customer service? A thank you would be nice! I spent $550 more than I wanted too. Couple other things, my check engine light is on, car sat for more than an hour, they couldn't check check engine light? I need lights, so why not have them all replaced? Steve gave me estimate for one light ($84.00). No, all of them, how much? Well Steve was just too busy clicking the mouse and never gave me an estimate. Steve, get people oriented or find another job, you made my experience at Midas miserable and thanks to you, I'll never go back there again. read more

UPDATE. After we posted this review, they finally returned the call and promised to issue a $99 refund of the engine diagnosis since they had failed to identify what was wrong with the car. (I still had to spend that $99 getting a proper diagnosis at the second shop) They asked me to delete the review, but at the end of the day, we're still out $1,500 that I would not have spent if they had properly diagnosed the problem in the first place. My experience with this shop may be an exception, but I expect more. read more

BEWARE. John said needed new temperature gauge sensor for $900. Check light was on. Declined when I saw part online for $30. He became annoyed and curt with me. Took to another mechanic. I have gone to this Midas for oil changes several times. They often suggest minor maintenance on my car (air filters, battery change), but nothing major. HOWEVER, last week I went in for a routine oil change. After waiting almost 2 hours (at the beginning of the day, and with an appointment), the mechanic informed me that I needed new control arms and new struts, totaling around $2000. This surprised me, since my car is low mileage and in pretty good shape. I asked the guy how urgent it was, since I don't have the money to pay for it. He told me that the repairs should be done ASAP and that it was risky to be driving the car, and offered to put me on a payment plan. I took the car to the dealership for an inspection and second opinion. They had two mechanics look at the car, including paying special attention to the parts Midas recommended replacing, and found NOTHING wrong with my car at all. Midas COMPLETELY fabricated the problems and tried to prey on my fears. I am livid-- this seems like a clear case of taking advantage of a young woman alone. I will never return to this company or this location, and urge others to avoid them as well. I consider them to be complete swindlers. Very disappointed. read more

Received a coupon from Midas through email for this location on a $9.99 Oil change, filter and tire rotation. Showed them the coupon and they would not honor it ( coupon was not expired ). They quoted $29.99 and that was giving me a break from the standard $39.99 oil change. Talk about bait and switch advertising! Isn't there laws against this type of false advertising!!! read more

I needed a new tire, front rotors and brake pads, and a tune up. They charged me $1400 for this little amount of work. This place is a rip off and the mechanics are scam artists. They even flat out lied to me saying my spark plugs were original when I changed them a year or so ago myself. read more

They have been great to go to for my car needs! I've gone there for oil changes, new tires, etc., and they've always been super nice, helpful, and looking out for their customers, unlike other places that like to gouge people for unnecessary things. I highly recommend this shop. Went here for a muffler replacement on my old minivan. When I went in I was greeted in less than a minute by Steven the assistant manager. The shop was full and busy but had an open bay. My car was driven right in and put up on the lift. Within 10 minutes I had a quote and results of their inspection. The quote was higher than I wanted to pay so Steven called around and came up with an economy replacement (vs OEM spec) that met my budget. They inspected brakes, ball joints, tie rods and seals. The only item that needed attention was a seal on the rear axle. He brought it to my attention and said that they wouldn't be able to fix it today but I could schedule an appointment or if I chose to could take it someplace else. No pressure, just good advice. I decided to have the muffler replaced and while sitting in the waiting area observed several customers come in, most of which were not at all savvy with regard to automobile service. Steven waited on each and I watched as he provided clear and competent answers regarding each recommendation that was made. He treated everyone with respect. At no time did he BS anyone nor did he push them to buy anything. One older man came in for an oil change and they noticed a nail in one tire and brakes that needed to be replaced on the passenger front side. They took care of the tire repair no charge and provided the man with a very reasonable price on the brake pads and rotors. Within 20 mins the parts were delivered during which time the oil change was completed. When the parts arrived the tech went right to work on the brakes. Shops like this are hard to find. Honest service at quite reasonable cost. I would be comfortable with my wife, daughter or aging mother going to this shop without concern for them being taken advantage of. read more

They take the time to explain to you what is wrong, and even lifted up the car to show me my sway bar link was broken. Do not trust this management or the mechanics. I went for an oil change and tire rotation. They changed my oil and I was watching to see if they were doing the tire rotation. I asked if they needed a key to access the tires. The mechanic told me two different things. One, he said I didn't need tire rotation and then he tells me i did it. Usually, when we drop off the car or are not watching what they are doing, be careful because they could be doing something to your vehicle. The tire rotation was free in the coupon deal. To save time, he lied to me that he had done the tire rotation. When I caught him in a lie, he said he would do it. That is when he asked me for the key to the tires and show them remove the tires. I wonder how many people have they been cheating like this. I am not going back to them. I am sure some people are loyal customer, but I even ask them to be careful because once you have trust them then they will keep taking advantage of you because you will never question. I came away from Midas today (4/13/18) with a strong suspicion they were trying to rip me off! Previously, I was at two auto repair shops and was told by both, I need front brakes, nothing more. However, Steve at Midas said I needed front brakes, rear brakes and front and back rotors costing $748.00. I told Steve about the two encounters with other repair shops, his reply, "That's what I was told". I asked about a $100 rebate I could get for brake service from a Midas promotion. Steve stated that rotors had to be included in the brake service to get the rebate. I read the back of the rebate form and nowhere does it state rotors, only brake service is needed. I mention these to another sales associate and all he could do was grunt. I no longer trust these people, not even to change my oil. They'll never see my shadow again. read more

I went in on 9-14-20 because my check engine light was on. I've been there a couple times before and Dominic was always great and explained everything to me...this time was not the same. Dominic was nice, not rude or anything, just didn't explain the charges before they were done. He just showed me the results of the code for the OBDII. He said the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) was bad and the CPS wire harness was fraying and suggested it be replaced. He then went about his work and I sat down to wait. I heard him on the phone ordering parts and made a comment out loud to himself.. (Wow..the Harness is more than the Sensor) I said to myself, great, this shouldn't be too expensive. I was never told of the price and never had the chance to decide if I want the work done. I went next door to Doug's Detailing to get a quote on some service, which I told Dominic since he recommended Doug. I got back in about 10 minutes and the parts guy delivered the parts for my car and began working on it. I went back over to Doug's to make an appointment with them. I went back to Midas and waited. When it was done I was hit with a $520 charge and that's with a $30 coupon discount. $191 for a wire harness and $84 for the sensor. I should have been told this amount BEFORE the work was performed. I figured this was the Industry standard price. I got home and checked prices. Labor was pretty close at 8 other shops I checked, but that's where it ends. The most expensive was $400 and the lowest was $340...TOTAL! I then checked about 7 parts stores and the wire harness ranged from $40-$55 (and that's for the 14" they had a 7" that was cheaper) and the Sensor was $35-$40. Even if you marked up the highest prices I found for the parts at 100%, they charged more than that, and a 100% markup is not industry standard. I fact it's way above it! RockAuto even had them cheaper. O'Reilly's was the only one with a price of $99 for the harness, but there are no O'Reilly's in Delaware. I called them, went online and filled out their complaint form, called a second time. All with the promise they'd look into it and call me back. The online form also had a contact me request, but as of today..NOTHING! I should receive no less than $125 credit back to my Card. I got ripped off, plus wasn't told of these high charges before the work was done. I feel I've went far above what I should to get them to contact me and talk to me. This is the last of my direct effort. If I do not get contacted with positive results I'm going to contact the AG for an investigation for fraud and deceptive practices! read more

Was getting my oil changed for couple years now for the low. Go in their today and Shaun the manager tells me $78 for my suv. I have never paid that much for an oil change and had my suv for 5 years, so I called my dealership and will get it for $55 today. I am so upset with Shaun and his attitude that it is not funny. They have lost a customer as long as Shawn is their. My dealership Nucar did the oil change same day for $42. I don't know what is wrong with midas but consumers don't believe that an oil change is going to be $78, do ur due diligence, worked for me! read more

I know nothing about cars and I'm always concerned that will end up costing me extra for things I don't even need. I've been to this Midas location twice and feel extremely comfortable that they won't take advantage of my lack of knowledge. The guy at the desk is very nice and explains everything...even though I forget it all 5 mins later. He offers services but doesn't try to push anything that's not necessary. They just checked my brakes, and more, for free, and even topped off my oil because I mentioned noticing it was low. Great service! I definitely recommend them! read more
