I would strongly recommend avoiding this location. This shop incorrectly repaired my brakes, resulting in thousands of wasted dollars. They refuse to take any responsibility. I have contacted Midas corporate and the Better Business Bureau and the business does not respond. They have an F rating with the BBB because they do not respond to complaints. So - my car overheated on a Friday afternoon, and my regular mechanic couldn't take me until at least the next week. Midas took the car and had me back on the road the next morning - I was thrilled! It was a bit more expensive than I would have anticipated, but I didn't mind paying given the timing and the turnaround. Now here's the questionable part: they recommended work based on mileage (I said I had just had that service done, and they said ok), but they also told me I needed to replace my stabilizers - that they had looked and it needed doing. I said I would think about it, and meanwhile took the car to my own mechanic... who said the stabilizers are fine. So - they did a good job with a known problem, but they also recommended work I didn't need. I'll go back again if I have an emergency, but I won't trust them to recommend service. read more

I took my vehicle to the Midas on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington. We had service done back on March 15th 2024 (see attached receipt). At that time we were told that the issues were the alternator and serpentine belt. Both needed to be replaced. Attached is a copy of the work that was supposed to be done. The cost was over $1,600. A few months later on approximately June 16th the car broke down as my husband was driving to church where he is the pastor. A few days later we were able to pay to have the vehicle towed to our home. However, due to this unexpected expense and not really being sure what the problem was, we were unable to get the vehicle back to Midas. So the vehicle remained in front of our home. However, during this time, my husband stated that he thinks it is the alternator and belt. I did not think this was possible since Midas told us that they did this repair a few months ago. Once we finally had the funds to get the vehicle back to Midas on July 22nd we were told by Sherman, one of the managers, that the issue was the alternator and belt. I advised him that this was the same issue they told us back in March and the repairs should have been made at that time. He located the receipt in the system and told me he would call me back. A few days later, after not hearing from anyone, I called him back. To make a long story short, Sherman told me that he was not sure what was going on because the manager, Shawn, told him that he spoke to me. This conversation never happened. To this day I have still not heard from Shawn. Anyway, Sherman then told me he would talk to Sean and Mark, another manager, and call me back. The next day he called me to come in and pick up the vehicle because it was ready. About a week after that, on July 29th, the vehicle broke down on 495-S as my husband was heading home from work. We had the vehicle towed back to our home and was told that it appears to be an engine problem. And, just like before, due to this being an unexpected expense, the vehicle is currently sitting in front of our home. I have made Midas aware of this issue by email on yesterday. The reason I did not reach out to them sooner is because, to be honest, I am very leary of taking the vehicle back to them. It seems like whenever I do the car gets worse. My family of seven has been without a vehicle since June. Because of everyone's work schedule, including my three older children, we need this vehicle to be repaired correctly. Had an appointment on 1/23/25 at noon to drop by Suburban off for rear brakes. I arrived at 11AM which was early and gave the keys. Travis/Mngr said he would call be to confirm brakes were needed which they never did. i called at 3PM and asked for update and was told pads and drums were needed, which i gave the go ahead. car was to be done by end of day. Travis called me at 5:30 to say the drums were in Maryland and would arrive Friday morning which i agreed since car was not needed that night.i still hadn't heard at 12:30PM on 1/24 and called to get update. "Parts had not arrived yet but will be here in 30 minutes". I called back at 3:30 Pm and Travis said wrong parts were sent. I told him the local NAPA store 2 miles away had them on the shelf. He said " I checked my system and they dont have them, but you can go get them if you like?" I said you have my car and could your shop do so which he said no. I got a Lyft to the shop and picked my car up without anything being done. Work on car is being completed on Monday at reliable shop and yes all the needed parts they need are in stock. Came to that location for an oil change. Before the oil change my charger car port was working. After the oil change it stopped working. When I called they informed me it had nothing to do with them. This is not Valvoline or Jiffy Lube where you stay in the car obviously somebody was in my car & did something wrong. No complaints about the oil change but definitely be careful when doing business with these people. read more

me and my gf went to midas to get an oil change , my gf had a hundred dollar bill inside the cup holder, when we came back outside the 100 dollar bill was gone so we went to the manger and told him what happened. his response was there are not cameras so there's nothing I can do about that ‍ strunging his shoulders. my gf says to the man which wouldn't give his name up white elderly guy with grey hair and glasses he was the manger . but she says I came to this businesses to get my oil changed for your employees to steal out of my car and then when I tell you, you act like there's nothing you can do and catches an attitude with me ? so unprofessional and rude I do not recommend coming here . this happened today at 11:30 2/14/25 read more

On Saturday, May 4th, 2019, I called and spoke to the manager, Charles, whom confirmed they would be capable of undertaking some exhaust work for me. Upon arriving, Charles said they were more than able to carry out what I had requested and gave me an excellent price for the work to be formed. I signed off on it and waited. During the completion and work being performed, would would have been a relatively easy installation and fabrication, turned into a nearly five hour mess and a total disaster of crooked welds, poor fitment, and the use of a tie straps just to bend everything into place due to poor fabrication, measurements, and craftsmanship. I was visibly frustrated and made it quite clear how unhappy I was with the work performed, especially since they mounted the rear muffler section back up pinching against and making direct contact with my vehicle's rear bumper and diffuser, completely crooked, and an entire side unsecure and not even installed properly to the chassis via the factory hanger and rubber mount. Rather than taking down and re-doing the sections they had fabricated with jagged welds, poor angles, and sloppy craftsmanship, they then proceeded to further butcher other sections of the axle back muffler section and tear into things further. I was told, "Oh, it's because it's aftermarket, it's hard to fit," and to just "Bring it back on Monday and we will fix it" since they took longer than expected and complained that they had already been there longer than they should be. First off, there's two sections that are aftermarket, that being a dual resonator off the main X mid pipe running from the downpipes followed by an X pipe. The poor fitment, installation, and fabrication were performed by their team and their shop, thus the poor fitment of said components are due to poor craftsmanship, not the fact that they are aftermarket components. The vehicle arrived in excellent condition with absolutely no issues to now leaving in horrible condition with damage to the rear bumper diffuser, bent and damaged bumper tabs, and a non-secured rear muffler section freely hanging and dangling on one entire side. Additionally, there are sections of the fabricated pieces and sections resting and making direct contact with the undercarriage and chassis, resulting in obnoxious vibrations and sounds throughout the cabin and exterior of the vehicle. I called on Monday, May 6th, to see when I could bring the vehicle back down to have it corrected as I was originally promised. Rather than the manager answering, another member of the team did and informed me that the only individual who was capable of welding was not even in that day, thus leaving me to further drive with a messed up exhaust continuing to inflict further damage on the rear bumper and diffuser, not even including the direct contact off pinching against the undercarriage and heat shielding or the fact it's still freely hanging on one entire side. I've reached out to corporate which then told me to file a complaint via their online form system which would be relayed to the owner of this specific location and still have received no responses. Furthermore, to further avoid any additional issues and damage, I've made the costly decision to bring the vehicle to an actually qualified welder and shop, thus rather than just fabricating and installing the minor work that I had additionally approached this Midas team for, I will now be paying out of pocket for virtually the entire exhaust to be repaired from the catastrophe generated by this Midas location. I will be taking the steps necessary to recoup costs associated with this Midas branch and the horrid results and disaster they created. Response to Business's Response: I've already filled the contact form out and still have received zero response whatsoever. The vehicle is now with an actual professional, for which I will now be needing to pay not only for the original work your team was to perform, but now to have all the damage you created repaired. The ball has been in your court and I see no attempts to even dribble it or acknowledge it being there. Update: Picked my vehicle up from the new shop. Total cost to re-fabricate and repair the work performed by Midas, along with properly install the original parts I had requested, came to $609.50. Never Go Here! Jess, Rick and the mechanics just want to get as much money from you as they can. Check engine light came on in Feb 2022...they said it was the secondary air pump -- that was $1338. Had to wait almost a week because they couldn't get the part. My Toyota Tundra is a 2006 (17 yrs old) but only has 73,500 miles on it. Check engine light came back on in November 2022 and this time I brought it to Auto Zone to do the free diagnostics test, so I had an idea of what they say was wrong. It was the air system, again and then the brakes went (I had literally no brakes). They replaced the Master Cylinder, brake booster, rear middle brake hose and fluids -- that was $1636. Again, it took almost a week to get my truck back. Dec 2022, check engine went on again - this was "warranty work" the valve cover gasket wasn't holding and leaking - only charged my $150. Jan 19, 2023, truck misfiring and knocking check engine light on again now it was back spark plugs another $1100. Jan 24, 2023 Check engine light on again, truck misfiring and knocking - we took the Truck to Kirkwood Auto and they found that the "replaced" spark plugs were not installed correctly. They completely reviewed all the work completed prior and found items not installed correctly. They gave me a list, fixed the spark plugs issue and only charged me $340. I will be going to them from now on! The check engine light hasn't been on since. read more

Do Not Go To MIDAS. They are Hustlers. I was overcharged for brakes. Told I needed front and back brakes with rotors and calipers. $1275 a piece! Since they had my car hostage I paid for the front. I went to Harvey Automotive for the back brakes. I was told the calipers were fine. Back brakes parts and labor $360 VS Midas $1275. Big difference!! read more

We scheduled an appointment for 7/7/2023 for a wheel alignment, everything else was working fine to my knowledge. That was completed and I was advised that the exhaust pipe had a hole in it. They stated it would cost $195.00 to fix it. I told them to go ahead and fix it. They called me a short time later to tell me the vehicle was ready. When I arrived, I went in to pay for the service and then left. The only problem was the Check Engine light was on. This was not the case when I dropped it off. I let the shop know and they cleared out the error. I turned the van off, then back on, and the check engine light turned on again. I needed the vehicle for vacation and couldn't leave it for further service. I was told by the manager that they would take care of it when I got back. I dropped off the van on 7/19 to have the check engine light corrected. I was told that it would cost $780.00 to replace the sensors. I advised the sensors were fine when the original service was done. They should be on the hook to correct it. They informed me that the pipe they replaced was after the sensor, so their work had nothing to do with the sensors. They said it was just a coincidence that the light came on when they completed the work. PLEASE NOTE I used this Midas for 4+ years and had no problems until the new management took over. The previous management was great. If they moved to another location I would be HAPPY to follow them just because of their ability to resolve issues and great customer service without screwing over their customers. read more

I went here to jave old change. I have been going here over 20 years. I brought two vehicles. I brought mine and my wife brought hers. I had oil changed like usual. Drove home. Following day my truck stopped working on I95. I made a video and said to myself this is first time I never checked to see of they did the oil. I had no oil in vehicle!!! They drained it and forgot to put back in. They would not take responsibility. I had it towed there nd I went back to work. The shop guys added oil to it. They did not know I made video on side of road nd showed no oil. They never fixed situation. Distributor fried and spent $500 at another shop to fix. This was a result of no oil in motor garage said. I also post my video on Facebook and had 12,000 views and shares nd had numerous people that worked for them contact me and said it happens a lot. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Nick is no longer there, and was one of the biggest reasons this Midas got so many positive reviews. He made sure every customer as taken care of, not taken advantage of which seems the case now. Needed a belt replaced on my alternator. Wanted to do it myself, but my hood was suck so I just had it towed here to do everything in one shot. Charged me $100 just to open the hood which is besides the point right now. I was just driving down 95 and my hood came flying up. They clearly did not do anything to address the problem and let a customer go out the door with this known issue. So unsafe. Called this guy Giovanni back and gave me such a hard time. Not even an apology!! Just an excuse. Absolutely horrible customer service. Long story short, my god this place has gone DOWNHILL!!!! Don't trust these people for anything beyond an oil change. They will screw you over. They broke a part off a pulley and it fell into the engine because they used an inappropriate tool. They lied to me and on the service report about how this bolt was broken off. They insisted that I pay for them to retrieve the part that fell into the engine. This rendered my car undrivable. I had it towed to a real professional and they confirmed everything they told me was a lie. read more

I went to Midas because the brake light on my car went on. They checked my car and told me that the brake on the driver front was brand new and even showed me where the product number was still imprinted on the brake! The rep then took a part from the good brake on driver front side and held it up to the passenger right side brake so I could see for myself that the passenger side was almost paper thin. He said the brake had seized and apparently had been seized for some time (he showed me how he knew that by comparing a cylinder that was rusty) and told me that I was lucky I did not have an accident. He then took me to the rear of the car and showed me the strut on the driver rear side to show me what a good strut should look like and then we went to the passenger side rear strut and he asked if I saw any difference. I asked where the rod is that was in the other strut and he said that was the problem and explained how dangerous it was to drive my car the way it was. I asked if that was the rattle that I had been hearing that I thought was in the trunk and he said it was. I clearly saw that there definitely was a big problem. The rep took me back into the store and gave me a series of prices and I know the prices he told me were correct because Nissan had suggested about 2 years ago that I have the struts replaced and the price they quoted was $1,200 to replace them. Midas told me that the price normally runs around $1,200 if you get the parts at Nissan; however, they could get the price down to $750. I really like that the mechanic takes you out to your car and physically shows you by comparing parts that are good on your car with the bad parts so you can see for yourself that the work being proposing is correct and that I am not being taken for a ride. I also like that they provided me with coupons to lower the price and they also provided deals to help me get 2 visa gift cards totaling $70. I never even asked about the gift cards. Just as I was getting ready to leave, the mechanic came to the counter and told the manager that my rear tail light was out and the manager said he would replace that for free. I have had previous issues with Pep Boys, Sears Automotive, and Meinake. If I could give Midas more than 5 stars, I would because it is nice to know that an auto repair shop is really honest and not out to get as much money as they can, including for services not even needed. For example, when I wanted them to check my brakes, they spend more than 1/2 hr and found nothing. Midas has been are go-to repair shop since moving to New Castle 18 years ago. Nick was an awesome manager, and we miss him, but the mechanics are all top notch! They do a thorough inspection of our cars, and always prioritize work when they know we have budget constraints. Today I drove in without an appt, because I discovered a slow leak in my tire. Charles, the office manager squeezed me in, and they were able to locate the pin nail and fix my tire quickly. Charles was nice enough to not even charge me for the repair, although I would have gladly paid them anyway. Mark always does an excellent job on our vehicles. Took my 2 year old with me for a 1:30 oil change appt., ... They had me in and out, did a safety check (for free, big deal to me as a mom) , they let my daughter watch Sesame Street, and made me hot. coffee!! They know the way to this moms heart! The oil change was quick and done right with my thingy reset, and they told me of minor issues and how to most efficiently and cheaply fix them. I've never had such a good experience at a car service place. My coupon was on my phone but it died and the service guy still gave me the 19.99 deal. Rotated my tires! Only the 2nd time I've been moved to Yelp! The other was a complaint. This team (I generally deal with Nick, the manager) came very highly recommended by my neighbor (a real car guy), I stopped in for little things, like headlights or oil changes before, but when my brakes started going on my Forrester this was where he said I HAD to go. The guys were great. No condescension to women, just brought out equipment to show me what a good piece looks like and what my pieces look like. Also did a check on the vehicle and saw that I needed new tires soon. Finances were a problem, so they set me up with the credit card company they use (Synchrony) which has a promotion for $200 or more worth of charges being interest free if they're paid off within six months. Kaman hoping to spend under 200, walked out spending almost 1000, BUT well worth the cost. I've had a few small problems since then, they always tell me to "just bring it on by and we'll take a look at it." I've now had them replace my taillight for free & came up with a solution to prevent that bulb from shorting again. Stopped in tonight after 6 (I thought they closed at 7) and as they were closed, and only Nick was left behind, I didn't even knock. I did however sit in my car and try and figure something out on my cell. Rather than avoiding me, or just going to his car, after locking up the shop Nick came over to the car to make sure everything was OK. When I told him it was a problem with the direction of my (recently Midas replaced) low beams he had me pop the hood and took a look at it (did I mention at only was it after hours, it's also raining?). He agreed they were definitely off & showed me where the problem was. Told me how it could be fixed and when I asked if I could just stop in the next time I was in the area, he said they should be able to take care of it as long as he had a bay he could bring the car into to measure the angles and height. Complete a$$h0les.. I call them to all for a proce to change my battery. I tell them eveything about my car, including the fact the battery was under the back seat. They tell me it'll be $150. I ask the guy, ste you sure, because once I get my car there, I won't be able to restart it. He s as id yes. I get it there and street waiting an, they tell me I need like $800 in additional work that had nothing to do with my battery. I decline all that, and he then says, because of where the battery is, it'll cost $400, and would take about 2 more hours, despite me telling them on the phone where it was and getting quoted $150. After I tell the guy what I was told on the phone, they basically put me out. I called a place in Wilmington, Baul's Auto, and not only did they change the battery for under $150, they literally did it in under 10 minutes. These clowns claimed it takes 2 hours to change, Baul's did it in under 10 minutes. Clearly they were just trying to up their price by faking like it took long to do... terrible service, and I will never go back read more

I had a 11:00 appointment and I entered the store at about 11:01. There were two other people inside waiting. After getting everything down on paper my vehicle was pulled back into the garage at 11:11. I was there for an oil change. The lobby is clean, and equipped with a small snack machine. There were 8 chairs. There is also a television that was turned to abc to help pass time. I was out a little after 11:30. They also did a tire check and made sure everything as up to date. Great customer service! I've rarely taken the time to review on Yelp, but this place deserves some great comments. I have been to this Midas location for an oil change, brake replacement and battery replacement. Each time I have received consistent, excellent service. Everyone working the front desk was very polite and efficient with my time. Though they were busy, they took the time to answer all my questions. One technician, Chris, even went out of his way to replace the bulb in my dome light after I simply asked how to do it. I also witnessed the same good service given to other customers as I waited for my car to be finished (which took far less than the estimated time). Overall, I am very impressed. read more

Wow! I went to Midas today for new tires. They were very friendly, explained everything, gave me a choice of three different tires to choose from, didn't push the most expensive ones (actually recommended the least expensive option), didn't hard sell me on other services and got the work done in less than an hour even though we had to wait abt 20 min for the tires to be delivered. The waiting area is comfortable and clean and the bathroom was very clean too. I highly recommend this shop. read more
