If a separate Nissan service department in a different state told me I need to get a part replaced why is it so hard to find a quote for the part and labor? I'm not paying twice just to hear the same thing. If you need to call your sister dealership to confirm what they told me do that but don't play me for dumb so you can get me in the door quick $200 diagnostic test. read more

I had the best experience from the receptionist (Sheri), to the parts manager (Mark), to the service advisor( Jenna). We had a flat tire in NJ and had to be flat bed towed to the nearest INFINITI dealership (which was Hertrich in Delaware) to get a new tire! They had my tire in stock! Jenna made the transaction run so smoothy with knowing her job and quickly contacting the company that had our tire warranty! We were impressed with how quickly she obtained the authorization code, and how quickly our new tire was in place, and we were back to our travels. The entire team was friendly and communicated well! BUYER BEWARE. AVOID HERTRICH NISSAN. I'd give 0 stars if possible. This place is an atrocity. Staff- starting with the GM, are rude, incompetent, and do not care. Leased my Nissan Rogue on 11/17/23. The first red flag was that I was promised $472 monthly payments for a 3 year lease, 15k miles a year. I even have this in text from the salesman, and we discussed this numerous times. Ironically on my way to the dealership to sign the lease on 11/17/23, the sales manager Vic called me and said they somehow priced me the wrong vehicle and the price would be the same for the lease, but only 10K miles a year due to THEIR mistake. I should've declined right then since they were now shorting me 15K miles (total). I sold them my old vehicle (which was already paid off) for 13K. 2k would go towards the lease as money down, and 11K would be written in a check for a pay off for me, as I requested. I was told it should take 2 weeks for the sale to finalize and I would have the check. 2 weeks later, still no check. Was told they were still finalizing paperwork with finance. On 12/18/23, now a month later, Ken from finance contacts me frantically and states he needs me to come in ASAP because it was THEIR mistake and they messed up the paperwork. I obliged and went in and signed the paperwork. On 12/28/23, incompetent Ken from finance contacts me again and asks me to come because once again, they messed up the paperwork. THEIR mistake yet again. I voiced my displeasure to Ken while I was at the dealership and asked to speak to someone higher up and demanded he put that I would receive the check in writing. Ken looked at me like I was insane, shrugged, and instead gave me a free oil change for my troubles, unbelievable. The same day, I was told the check for 11k would be ready by 01/02/24 now that the paperwork was finalized and correct after Ken messed it up numerous times. On 12/29/23, I sent a long, detailed email to the GM of Hertrich Nissan - Newark - Michael Lundin. To no surprise, I received no response. Shocker that the leadership sucks here as well. On 01/02/24, I emailed Ken from finance about the status of the check. I received no response. On 01/03/24, I spoke to the office manager - Shelly. She claimed finance mailed the check for 11k on 01/02/24 and if I did not received it by 01/08/24 to contact her personally. Keep in mind I live 15 mins away from Nissan, so it should've taken a day to receive the check. On 01/08/24, I contacted the office manager - Shelly, to make her aware that the check never arrived. Shelly was clearly annoyed that I followed up, spoke to me in a belittling and unprofessional manner, and continually cut me off when I voiced my displeasure by saying "I get it but" and the proceeded to tell me I was given wrong information about how long the check takes to receive. But the best part, she just casually told me "the check must have gotten lost in the mail" and that they would stop payment and issue a new check that "should" be ready by the end of this week. Seems to me that they never actually mailed out the check because it would have gone through certified mail. 01/10/24 - After exposing them online for who they really are, my check for 11K was magically hand delivered to me today. I received several phone calls from the GM- Michael Lundin who apologized and stated he "never saw" my email. Funny, you saw it after you were exposed. Oh, and for all of this hassle over the last 2 months, don't worry, he compensated me with a service plan that gives me oil changes and tire rotations. Wow, truly remarkable for all that inconvenience and giving me the run around for 2 months. HE EVEN ASKED ME TO TAKE MY REVIEW DOWN. Do NOT go here. Do NOT support this disgrace of a "business." Do NOT support this scam artist of a GM - Michael Lundin who will try to cure all of your problems with oil changes and tire rotations. I was looking into a 2023 Nissan Altima SL online when I found Hertrich's of Newark. From start to finish, they were FABULOUS!!! Our salesperson, one Mr. Leland "Lee" Jones was so friendly and helpful. He answered all of my questions professionally and knowledgeably. I'd give him ten stars, but alas, I'm limited to five. Financing was also a breeze with Troy (now at Hertrich's Acura group), and he managed to get us a lot of deals without raising the cost. All in all a great dealership with great people and the best cars. I love my Altima, and the next time I get a new car, I'll be heading right back to Hertrich's. Hertrich Nissan has decided it's going to gouge each and every customer for every nickel, dime and penny they can get from you. They have decided to assess a diagnostic machine service fee--$199, each time it's needed. Even if they don't do anything, you're out 199, but maybe you have a diagnosis. Other shops fold in the diagnostic cost to their service, NOT HERTRICH. Gouge! Gouge! Gouge! Let's look at their costs? $199 per vehicle on 10 vehicles a day is an additional approximately $2,000 a day to their service center's bottom line. On a 20 day month, that's an additional approx $40,000. Over a 12 month year, that's an additional $480,000 they make before they before ANY work. They also charge a 2.16% fee IF you decide to use a credit card. Let's say a low number of 50 of their daily service customers use a credit card and a low estimate of an average bill of $400 (50 times $400 = 20,000/day x 2.16% = $432/day; $8,640/mo or nearly $104,000/year. Do you feel your pocket getting picked yet? It gets worse. They suggested over $1,600 of total repairs for a fan motor replacement. That's the $199 diagnostic fee and the $539 repair charge. Do you feel your pocket getting picked yet? Now, let's talk about the work. I left the car on Monday night. Service rep Alex promised me they'd look at it on Tuesday. Since I was going to be without wheels, I asked about a loaner. He told me they have a new policy, that the unidentified service manager would have to approve it, but, they didn't have any loaners anyway. Well, apparently, they did look at it on Tuesday. Not only did they look at it, they completed the service but no one told me. When I called Wednesday, they told me it was done the day before. There are two sins in business. One is to give bad service. They get 5 stars for bad service on this one. I would seriously encourage you to consider a different service provider. I am. Enough is enough. Huge disappointment! I had made a service plan with my Service Advisor and had it in writing. Part one completed, but when I went back for part two it was a different story. My Advisor had left, and the price had more then doubled in a few months. Apparently Nissan does not check rotors for resurfacing anymore, they are just replaced? They said all rotors need to be replaced? Hmm? They saw the plan/quote in writing and would not honor it? Would not even budge...no discount, no coupon? If I am not valued, I will go elsewhere. They scheduled me for repairs for my car that was in an accident. I set the time and insurance set up a rental. When I dropped it off the guy Steve looked at it and was dismissive and rude. He said to email what was wrong cause he couldn't be bothered to look himself even though I showed him right there. Then after two days, State Farm, not the body shop, called to say my car was ready. When I went to get it, Steve informed me he couldn't do anything and even if he ordered the part I needed it would take too long and there was a huge back up of business there. If that's the case why would you schedule someone. And I had to pay for two days of a rental for them to not do anything. Now I have to find another body shop and do the whole process again. I got a car from this dealership in July of 2024 since I have been back 6-8 different times for various issues with the car. It is now October of 2024 and these issues are non stop. If you want to get a car of quality that doesn't leak inside the car when you got to the car wash I would suggest trying a different dealership. I have already called and spoke to the manager in sales and nothing to help me is being done to help with this. The only thing they do is point me to the service center every time something happens. I have already been doing that and it's an absolute inconvenience for me to keep coming into the service center every time an issue happens. BEWARE!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL THEY TOUCH ANY OF MY CARS! Car went in for a $30 oil change. Car came out with both steering arm boots hanging loose and missing clamps to hold them in place. Cut marks on top of the boots where the clamps were cut. Was told that $2000 was needed to fix the steering system, which hadn't had any problems....until the boots were cut! Will cost several hundreds of dollars to replace the boots. I guess when cars are not selling, you have to make your money on repairs...even if you create the costly problems. The receptionist was rude but when you call for service that they're able to charge for you get connected right to a scheduler. If a dealership isn't willing to stand behind faulty engineering when it's time to be repaired than they shouldn't be allowed to sell or repair cars. He greeted us as soon as we got there and thoroughly explained all the different aspects of this all-electric vehicle. We had a good test drive and really enjoyed the car. We had a zillion questions and Marshall patiently answered all of them with great knowledge. My son-in-law has a Nissan Leaf and enjoys it so I went to Porter Nissan and asked about the Leaf. Alycia Garcia let me know that their dealership was expecting two base model Leafs and a S Plus model in early April. After further research, I decided to ask for the S Plus model because of the bigger battery and longer travel per charge. Alycia called when the car was coming in and I went to get it on April 5. I was worried about picking up the car and getting the big pressure treatment to get a lot of expensive add-ones. The only thing that was offered was a total bumper to bumper warranty for ten years for under $2000. They also used the Delaware Electric Vehicle rebate to cover the taxes and title fees. I dealt with Mr. Lee Jones. He was fantastic because I told him that I wouldn't buy a car until August. He was very understanding of my position. I wanted to see what the Midnight Pine color looks like in person. I called Mr. Jones and gave him my request. He called me back to let me know a Midnight Pine Rogue has just came in. I went up to look at it. Took it for a spin and fell in love with the car. I went home to look online at the pricing. With zero percent financing, I took the plunge. MrJones was courteous, professional, and was prompt to respond to texts. I took delivery 2 weeks after the initial test drive and couldn't be happier. Mr. Jones has followed up when I took the car in because of a paint blemish. Jan 28- Down to 3 stars. I'm still waiting on my plates. The DC DMV needed a form that I had, but no one contacted me to ask for it. My temp tag was expiring in less than a week and I had to call/email Porter to ask for another and an update on my plates. I emailed the form to Porter, so we'll see if I get my plates next month. Still a good place to buy a car IF you register it yourself. Bumped up to 4 stars for them getting me in and out in 45 minutes. Probably would gave been faster had I not been late. 3 stars until 1) I go in tomorrow and 2) my plates and registration come back. Yes, it's 2 hours from DC. I started to feel like I was getting the run around from another dealership after a few days of slow/no response about a car they supposedly had in stock. Porter was the closest dealer that had a car closest to what I was looking for. I called Jeff peturbed at 1:09 today and had a verbal proposal I could live with by 1:32. By 1:39 both my agent (fax) and I (email) had copies of the proposal. The car did not have two features that I was looking for. By 3:24 Jeff sent me the prices for both, but they were out of stock. Depending on how long they take to install I MIGHT go back for them. Just to actually meet Jeff because... Jeff (sadly) will be out of the office tomorrow when I go to pick up my new car, so he offered to start my paperwork tonight so that I wouldn't have to wait tomorrow. My agent was gone for the day. Jeff tells me he'll give my info to someone, Edwin, who will help me in the morning. What happened next? Edwin calls to introduce himself about 45 minutes later and texts me his info just in case I need it. I had a question about an Enterprise location because I'll be renting to drive up. Brought my Jeep to their service department from a referral since an authorized Jeep dealer couldn't fix the intermittent and troublesome issue(s) I had. I have other dealers in my area that I am not really impressed with so looked around for someone to recommend a place. It is hands down the nicest service department I have encountered. Service staff was professional and friendly. Clean and accommodating area. Never experienced anything like it and now a bit spoiled. Anyway, the Tech diagnosed the issue(s), laid out my options and gave me a breakdown in what it would cost and how important it may be. It wasn't a quick and easy repair because other things had to be eliminated but every step/decision was explained. Got everything repaired I needed and got my Jeep back. Best advice my mother ever gave me was to take my vehicle to the dealership for maintenance/repairs versus just choosing the cheapest option. Unfortunately I veered away from that advice and chose a reputable mechanic near me thinking the closest dealership was 30 min away. I was pleasantly surprised, if not a little frustrated at myself, to find this location only 10 min from my home. Extremely knowledgeable and accommodating staff. Dan is my service liaison and absolutely AMAZING at his job!! Front desk staff were friendly as well. Joshua is an awesome mechanic and I plan to request him any time my truck needs service. What more can I say other than Thank You. Had the best experience with Blair Osburn. Met Blair a while back when he was working at another location closer to me. I was not aware and reached out to Blair to see about a new lease to replace my Pathfinder. Porter is definitely not a dealership I would have considered due to the distance from my home however Blair asked me to give him a shot. We went over different vehicles (2021 Rogue, 2020 Rogue, 2020 Murano) and options and once we narrowed it down Blair gave me really aggressive pricing on a 2020 Murano. Blair assured me that the numbers give would not change and when my wife and I arrived at the dealership the vehicle was clean and ready. We did a test drive then went over the deal again. Everything was exactly as discussed. After a very short wait we met with the finance manager who went over our paperwork and contract. He offered some protections and very reasonable prices and we signed our documents. My wife could not be happier about her new Murano. Blair did a great job and I will definitely work with him and Porter again in the future. read more

A word to the wise, DO NOT deal with Porter Nissan service department! I had my tires replaced at 50,000 miles with the recommended upgraded tires for my car at their service center. I've actually had all work that's needed to be done to my car at their service center, never anywhere else. At my oil change at 55,000 miles they tell me my front two tires need to be replaced. After several phone calls and dealing back-and-forth with the service manager Lyle they finally agree that my tires will be covered under a continental tire warranty. Fast forward to 10,000 miles later and low and behold my front two tires need to be replaced again, this time they're completely bald. After dealing with them for almost 3 weeks we finally agree they will cover the cost of the two tires (60% covered by Continental and the other 40% by Nissan|Porter). They call me to tell me my car is done today and that now of course I owe $170. I'm called a liar and that it was never agreed that if they would cover the full cost of the replacement. I would've never taken my car in for service until it was going to be covered since I do feel like they screwed up on the alignment in the first place causing me to have all of these issues. There should be no way I am having to replace tires with 15,000 mile on them. Mind you I have purchased three cars from this dealership and have spent thousands of dollars on service throughout the years. They have now lost my business and hopefully more since they obviously do not not how to run a proper service department. read more

I took my vehicle for small dent for insurance claim, what a disaster. I was told 2-4 days for repair, they had a snow day OK. I finally got my vehicle back after 2 weeks, excuse after excuse. We purchased a used 2016 Rogue here in 2017. We were provided a Carfax report that showed no issues. Last week we traded it in on another car. We were surprised by the low trade-in value. We were shown the Carfax for the Rogue which now showed it had been in an accident. I still had the original Carfax, which I compared it to. It turns out the original one we had been provided by Porter was not for the car we purchased. I had not thought to compare the VIN numbers. Now it certainly could have been a simple mistake on their part. But it also could have been deliberate. I have no way of knowing, and am not going to complain at this point. Because my battery went dead for no reason...went to get the ECM reprogrammed for recall NTB 20-021 which is for VVT solenoid staying on with the car off and draining the battery. I replaced the battery 5 days before appt. told 2.5 hours when I made appt told "all day" when I got there. Fine. They reprogramed the ECM which is the only thing I asked for which is a free recall fix....then I get charged $120 for diagnosis. What? Oh "they checked the battery and it was good"...gee thanks for checking my 5 day old battery when I didn't ask for that....when I explained the recall was for the solenoid draining the battery I was told "no the recall has nothing to do with the battery". Huh? How is the battery not involved with the recall when the entire recall revolves around drawing power from the battery when the vehicle was off! Absolutely Clueless! In the end I got ripped of $120 because that's what they do! Beware! I have never left a Yelp review and would never do or recommend doing business with them ever! Totally ignorant and clueless about technology and have no problem ripping you off. read more

Great used car buying experience! I drove to Porter Nissan from Virginia, because they were the only dealer within 100 mile radius that had the exact car I wanted at a price that was lower than I expected. The biggest difference between Porter Nissan and VA dealers was that you actually end up paying the exact amount that you see on the web site. There are no hidden fees, processing fees or some other crappy fees. In VA they add up to $800 in "vehicle reconditioning" fees on top of the advertised price. At Porter the price was already lower than all similar vehicles I saw in VA and no extra fees where added during the purchase. Sales staff is friendly and the overall experience was much better than many of my past ones. While I was waiting for my paperwork, a salesperson answered a phone call and whoever called apparently attempted to bargain on the price of some car. The sales person was trying to explain that the prices they offer are already so low, there is really no reason or room to bargain. The price you see - is the price you pay. It was apparently hard for the caller to comprehend, but this is indeed the case. You would be hard pressed trying to find a better price on a similar vehicle as you would find at Porter. read more
