I have been coming here for ten years!!! Right now, I bring my 2000 Montana Van, but before this, I used to bring my Volvo, and my van before that. My entire family comes here! These guys are amazing! The manager is a super hero, and the owners are some of the sweetest people I've ever met! I called in one day after I got out of work early and asked if I could get an oil change and have someone take a look at some problems with my car. I was told that it was a slow day -- by the MANAGER ERIC -- so I could bring my car right in without having to wait. I brought my car in and they immediately took my car in. In 10 minutes -- the manager ERIC -- immediately came out and introduced himself and told me exactly what was going on with my car. He even explained some things I had questions about. Plus, he gave me detailed estimates and what repairs were a priority and what weren't. He was really honest with me about the repairs. As someone who has had bad experiences with previous mechanics I really appreciated this gesture. I was in and out of there with my oil change in less than half an hour. This shop is amazing, the guys there are honest and reliable. I really liked that they have superb attention to detail, hospitality, and diagnostic skills... Everybody is so nice and helpful. They offer the best customer service. They are reasonable and flexible. Also very cheap, I usually get the jaw dropping reaction when I see my bill! They just want to help you out and not make money out of you. Costs are very good, in comparison to many others. Looking beyond that, you would much rather have someone who will give you an honest opinion and willing to work with you as this place has. The integrity in their work has exceeded any place I have been to. I've come back for my oil changes and a few times they've fixed little things with my car that needed tending to without an extra fee. It's nice to know that there are still good mechanics out there. I am once again thoroughly happy with the quality of work and the durability of the aftermarket part they use in repairing the cars brought here. I highly recommend this shop for your automotive repair needs. No matter which mechanic I've used here, the quality has been high. They treat my van like royalty! I started using his shop about ten years ago when I was living in Escondido. I had asked my closest friend for an auto repair shop recommendation, and they told me that they had been using his shop for decades starting when they lived in San Diego. I have even driven/towed all the way from Descanso to get astounding mechanics at Midas Poway! Recently, Eric diagnosed five things on my van: he wrote me an extensive explanation and took more than 15 minutes to explain everything to me! Eric the manager -- and MIDAS -- make car repair and maintenance convenient, affordable, and transparent. Eric is awesome! No-nonsense, straight-forward, and total honesty. He tells you exactly what you need, and gives you suggestions on things that you would need for the future, without demanding that you to do it that day. I am restoring an old Toyota Land Cruiser (Lexus LX450) and Drew and Aaron at Midas in Poway thoroughly inspected the vehicle before I purchased it and gave me a full list of everything that needed to be repaired. I am turning it into an Overland adventure vehicle, but first I need it to be mechanically sound, so a good mechanic is key. -Drew and his team are honest, efficient and the prices are reasonable. -They stand behind their work -Midas offers a lifetime guarantee on mufflers and brake pads - how awesome is that? -They just installed new a/c, alternator and drive belts, hood struts and they changed the fluids in my front & rear diff and transfer case on my Land Cruiser. -You can bring in your own parts and they will install them. However, I recommend asking Drew and his team to double check any parts that you provide, though, to make sure you have the correct ones. -Love this place - would give them 7 stars if I could. read more

Went in for regular oil change and saw no familiar faces....again.... The guy in the office was on the phone when I got there and everyone in the bays were busy but someone came out soon and asked if i needed help and started my service he introduced himself as Carlo. While he was finding me in the computer the guy on the phone hung up abruptly and kinda stormed out into the bay area. By the time he came back, Carlo had taken my key to get mileage but ended up putting my car in the bay, and Jeffrey came back & started finishing the write up. Carlo came back right when Jeffrey asked if I wanted to upgrade my oil. I already get the synthetic so I was confused. I asked whats an upgrade from synthetic? Jeffrey got a blank look and Carlo jumped in to try and save him saying it doesn't matter as my car can only take 1 kind. Anyway Carlo was the only one there when I picked up my car and he is good. I made an appointment online specifically for an oil change and tire rotation because I found a coupon online. Victor responded to me quickly and setup the appointment. Once I got there, they let me know that they didn't have the jack for the tire rotation, but they wanted to charge me the full amount of the coupon that was specifically for a tire rotation and oil change. Once the oil change was done, I was told that Id need 4 new tires and that they wouldn't have been able to do a tire rotation anyways. It seemed like a usual thing that this place would charge for services not completed. Eventually after explaining for quite a while, the service man offered $5 off. He seemed like it was such an unreasonable request to not be charged for the service not offered. Not too impressed with the entire visit. read more

I've had bad experiences with other car shops around but Poway Midas is not one of them. I've been coming here for over two years and their services are great. From oil changes, new tires, batteries, alignments, headlights, and a soon to be tensioner replacement, their services are top notch. All the people I've interacted with have been polite and professional. I have never felt up sold on any car parts. The last couple of times being here, including today, Drew has helped me out. He has taken care of my car troubles with utmost efficiency. He doesn't make you feel dumb when asking questions and is just an overall nice person. I will be coming here as long as I drive a car. Great experience! I'm from out of town and had to take my car in for a break check (knew something was wrong) but was dreading it since usually getting your car serviced is a financial/time eating nightmare. I can honestly say at this Midas location the workers went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service and professional, reasonably priced repairs. Before work was done, I was educated about the issues with my breaks and then given multiple repair options to choose from. The mechanics were scheduled to leave at 6pm but stayed to finish my car so I wouldn't be stranded. While waiting, I overheard the workers dealing with other customers and they were just as courteous. Huge 'thank you' and a well deserved 5 stars! read more

Midas/Speedee on 12672 Poway Road in Poway is a place I received excellent help with my car. They were closed already. The manager Blaine still helped me by looking into the engine and cleaning out some senser. He showed me how to drive that car safely home. He told me to drive the car back first thing in the morning. Josh was on the next day. He made me feel comfortable by letting me know what they had to do to fix it. They fixed it. The car was ready and fixed when I came back from work. They were helpful and professional. I even get a senior AARP discount. I shall always have them fix my car if it needs it. I have taken my 2011 Impala here twice now and both times the service from Drew (the manager) and his mechanics (especially Blain), has been outstanding. They even told me NOT to get some work done because it wasn't needed. What mechanic is that honest? They fixed things that no one else could fix properly. This was my first visit to this Midas location and I am certain to continue going to them for all my car maintenance. The customer service was great and work was done in a timely manner, excellent prices, and they did quality work with my vehicle. I needed an oil change, tire rotation, and fluid refilling. After I left my car drove so much smoother because prior to that it had been hesitating while I would accelerate and they took care of that problem. I went to the this place for the first time on my friend's suggestion for the Transmission fluid exchange. My skepticism was blasted by the excellent service provided by these guys. They are super charged (even in the evening), Patient enough to answer all your questions(even the Dumb ones) and very knowledgeable. Cannot get a better service than this else where.
