Great service to begin with until I got in my car the next day and realized 2 items are missing. First item $13.00 flashlight and a $5.00 bottle of window caulking. I sent an email reporting the items and still no reply. I contacted the Superior named Tony and he assured me that none of his employees are theifs. Wow..... that's amazing, they must have the most honest employees in the world. Tony reassured me he'd go over the security cameras, but the cameras don't show what's going on in my truck. Similar to other past reviews- my experience today wasn't great to say the least. Having requested an online estimate, and then following up by phone to verify the estimate before scheduling, it was shocking to get a new estimate on the day of service of over 100.00 more. These businesses need to realize that people's lives are busy and when they take time out to take their vehicles somewhere, they don't want to find that the estimates are dishonest or incomplete. Just be honest, upfront, and complete in the information provided- otherwise it just comes off as really shady business practice. Their sign lured me in. $19.99 oil change. They were busy the day I stopped by, but they took care of me. 35 to 40 minutes to get an oil change. They checked a lot of other things for me which I appreciate. They pointed out that I will need new tires and gave me an estimate for tires and labor cost. Since then, I've been shopping around and have found out that they are cheaper by about $6 to $10 or so. I may come back here to get my tires serviced. I was appreciative that they let me know what needs to be done for maintenance. I'm not much of a "shop talk" girl so it was appreciated. read more

After I got my tires replaced at San Diego Wheel & Tire (located next door), the guys recommended that I go to Midas to check out my brake situation. Turns out I had a major brake issue that needed to be fixed immediately. With that being said, both shops would not let me leave the lot per liability and safety reasons. Totally understandable and I was not upset. I was appreciative of their concern for my safety, as well as the safety of others. Long story short, Tony (manager) contacted me after taking a look at my brakes and clearly explained to me what needed to be done. Pretty much my brakes were dead. He addressed what was wrong, what needed to be fixed, and provided me with a price. They did not begin work until they received confirmation from me. The shop did a complete brake replacement for (what I think) a reasonable price! I am very pleased with my experience at Midas and I want to thank the staff for being so accommodating with my situation. I went there for a simple oil change on my lunch break. when i made the apt i asked how long it would take - they said at most 30 minutes. an hour and a half later they pulled out two air filters told me my transmission fluid was full of metal and that my transmission was about to break if not already. i took it to my real mechanic which i should have done in the beginning and they changed out my fluid and said there was no metal in my fluid and that its just fine and that Midas is full of crap. I really don't appreciate service like this and would not recommend them to anyone. i hate pieces of crap places like this that just try to get more money - specially outta girls.... all i wanted was a dang oil change!!!! read more

After getting my tires replaced next door to Midas at San Diego Tire and Wheel Outlet (also a great place by the way), I went to Midas to get my tires aligned as I had replaced all 4 tires. I spoke to Tony and he was really professional and nice about my options. I ended up taking him up on his deal for the lifetime alignment package as that is an amazing deal and it's always a good idea to keep your car aligned at all times to extend the life of your tires..especially my tires, as they are not cheap. I was very pleased with the experience and I'm happy they were so close by. Their prices are fair and their work is guaranteed, which I really like. On a side note, I must admit I'm very weary of "repair shops" and I don't trust mechanics easily. However, I must say, Tony and his guys were awesome to deal with and I got a sense of honesty and sincerity when I spoke to them and they happily answered all my questions. I spoke to a couple of their techs (I apologize, but his name escapes me at the moment, I think he's from Hawaii) and asked how the alignment machine worked. He was more than happy to explain it to me. I thought that was pretty cool since most techs don't want to be bothered by that stuff. Overall, I think they are very professional, friendly and trustworthy, and coming from me, that says a lot. Keep up the good work fellas, and thank you for all your help! You should reconsider taking your car to this place. In the end they basically charged me for wasting my time and money. They lied to me from the start telling me that the diagnostic would be deducted from the cost of the repair. A few days later I was presented with an estimate that included the diagnostic because "it was a different type of diagnostic". They had me order a $120 non refundable part specific to my car that I DID NOT NEED because it wasn't what was causing the problem. They followed this up by recommending a $150 part... but waited until the parts department was closed for the weekend before letting me know. They may not ever have let me know, had I not called the shop myself. After dealing with Esteban's poor/non existent communication skills for an entire week, (YES MY CAR SAT THERE FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK!!) I finally just had my car towed to a shop with more competent employees. Of course they charged me to be able to take my car and left the steering wheel in PIECES because they had no idea how to put it back together again!!! Now the horn is inoperable and the airbag dash light is on thanks to the morons at Midas. read more

Let me just say that I came in this afternoon with no appointment and I was able to get my brakes and my rotors done by Tony! If your going to get anything done on your car at this location...TONY IS YOUR MAN! They accessed the problem and found that my rotors needed to be done on my front drivers side. Gave me a decent price and had me out of the shop within 2 hours! Ya can't beat that! I went in to get my brakes serviced, as it was "about time" mileage-wise, and my dealer had mentioned that I only had 23% left on my brakes, and that was a year ago (oops). I showed up to my appointment and was cheerfully greeted by Tim, who quickly took my car in to take a look. Well, after a 15 minutes, Tim came back and asked if I had used my brakes at all - they were apparently not even 1/2 way through the pad and all they needed was a quick cleaning and they'd be good for another year or two (makes me wonder what the dealer was doing, hmmm). When I didn't believe him, he brought me out to the bay and showed me my brakes, even showing me a new one for comparison. He could have easily just changed the brakes, resurfaced the rotors, and charged me a few hundred dollars, but instead was extremely honest and I left with a $25 charge for cleaning and brakes that felt good as new. I came here for an oil change since I heard an ad that they were doing oil changes for $19.99. Alright! Perfect timing! The guy at the front was very prompt and helpful. Well, I mean I only came in for an oil change but as I heard other customers come in and out, he was very helpful in asking them specific questions about their problems and willing to check their car out. Er...yeah I guess I was eavesdropping but I mean come on what else was I supposed to do for like half and hour just sitting inside? They were done really quickly though. I don't even know if they did all the things that were on their online coupon thing, but hey, $20 bucks for an oil change and tire rotation, pretty good deal! Once again our local Midas took care of us. This time the day after one of the worst days of my life, after leaving my grandpa's funeral my transmission check light came on and on my old car I was fairly certain it meant my transmission was done. Armando was so calming, funny and reassuring it helped me right off the bat walking in to the shop. He did the diagnostic, walked me through the potential meaning of the results. Then he asked Adam the manager if they could squeeze us in same day to verify either issue. Adam made it happen and even allowed us to use the fluid we had already bought in case we couldn't swing the fluid change cost. Their price was so fair and they explained everything in terms we could understand. When we picked our car up Anthony explained that there was a leak, showed up pics and explained it was just a gasket going, thank Jeebus! He also explained in a really easy way to understand and helped check us out quick. Andrew worked up the quote to replace the gasket and it was so reasonable. I made an appointment for a oil change with free tire rotation and on that day, two hours before my appointment, I received a phone call that the shop was so busy to honor my one hour turn around so we rescheduled later that day to honor my appointment. Since I had little ones with me that it made it an easy 30 minute oil change and I was able to take home a detailed inspection to the hubby to possibly later bring back. We called the shop later that night and made a priority list. We've been waiting for a place like this that allows education to be the motivating factor of investing in our vehicles. My ex had always taken care of my car maintenance and after my divorce, I brought it where he did, unfortunately, after a routine oil change they called me 2 weeks later to notify me that I also needed to get my sparkplugs changed and a lot of other things done; when I questioned why they hadn't brought that up when I had brought it in they didn't have an answer. I decided to bring my vehicle into Midas at that point because that's where I had gone before I got married and God I am so happy I did! Ruben let me know exactly what I needed to get done (which was a lot) - guess my ex wasn't maintaining my car as well as he should have been, but Ruben did help me to where it wasn't so overwhelming and we got what was necessary done first, then we got what needed to be done later. Over the next couple of months I've had to be towed over, barely made it over, and had a few other incidents but Ruben and his team have taken care of me every time; always treating me like family and making it as stress-free as possible. read more

I first went to Midas because someone recommended them for brake repair. I was happy with the work. Then I had another problem. There was a clicking/rubbing sound in the steering column when I turned the wheel. It was a scary kind of sound and I wanted it seen by a mechanic. I had been impressed by the knowledge of the Midas manager when I had the brake work done, so I called and they said to bring it in. Sadly there was a new manager, but he seemed competent. They charged me lot but said my car was fixed. Then it started making clunking sounds. This time the cost was only half as much. Then it started making thuds when I turn the wheel. I have absolutely no faith or trust in Midas at this point. I talked to the manager, telling him I want a refund so I can actually get my car fixed. He begged me to give them another chance. My first thought was "how much would it cost this time?" !!! I think they've done enough experimenting and more than enough charging. I called the Midas corporate phone number and was told they would record what I had to say and send it to the owner of this store. I finally heard from the district manager who offered to look at the car again. I think that having it twice was plenty of time. I've been scared to drive it. At this point I think I deserve a full refund and my car fixed free - by someone who knows what they're doing. I'm in my 70s and the widow of a Navy Veteran. Frequently during the 20 years he served, we heard horror stories about other Navy families being cheated and lied to by local businesses but we never had that problem. Now I do. I used to take my car to Express tire to get my oil changed and any other miscellaneous repairs needed. About 6 years ago, I just did a tune up on my car (spark plugs, spark plug wires, pcv valve, air filter). I took my car to Express tire to get my oil changed and the tech showed me an old worn air filter. He than proceeded to tell me that I needed a full tune up and asked the last time I had a tune up!? I said "uhhhhh, 20 minutes ago!" He said "well have you driven to the desert?" Yeah, in 20 minutes I managed to drive to the desert and back to come get an oil change. That is when I found Midas, which is right down the street. I've been coming to this Midas on convoy to see the Manager Tony, who always is straight forward with me, for about 6 years now. I've gotten 2 oil changes from this Midas and they're always quick, very professional, inexpensive, and let you know what's going on with your car without the up-sale. It's that time again so I was planning on stopping by and getting the usual oil change when I noticed my truck's brake light kept turning on and off while I was driving and I had no idea why. I stopped by without an appointment and they were slammed and with the wait being about 90 minutes I couldn't commit to waiting on my lunch break, but Sean was nice enough to do a quick visual look under the hood just to confirm I had brake fluid. He then scheduled an appointment for me to come back for the oil change and do a full inspection of the brakes. Went in today at Noon~ish and even though I was 10 minutes late for my appointment Sean had someone lifting the truck by the time my coffee was ready. (They have one of those K Cup cute coffee machines) Turns out I needed new pads on both my front tires and that horrible scraping feeling should probably have been dealt with sooner on my end. Again he was super pro about it. He took me out to show me what to look for and what exactly they would be doing without any judgment or condescending attitude or anything. (Autos have never been my forte and some shops are not the nicest to females that know squat about cars) While I was waiting, the Big Boss, Victor came out and chatted for a bit and gave me control of the TV. He's super positive, nice, and helpful. I live within walking distance of so many oil change, brake, tire places in PB, but it's worth the drive to go to these guys. I called ahead of time and asked if I needed an appointment and he said they were booked. But then he said I could bring it in it would just be an hour wait. I told him I didn't mind waiting. I parked in the speedy oil change spot. Gave Tony my keys and my coupon. 21.99. Pretty good deal. They check everything. And top off your fluids. He said if an appointment doesn't show I would be bumped up. I went across the street to have a bite to eat while I waited. When I returned my car was done. He gave me my paperwork and a five dollar coupon for next time. I paid and that was it. He told me everything looked good. I will always come here for my oil changes.
