The wait time was pretty long, over 2 hours. I drove my car for about 2 weeks and it's been pulling to the right all the time. I made an apt and went early so they could finish early, that didn't happen. Once my appointment time came, my car was done within 25 min. Service is ok. Wait time is a little too long for my liking. As a single woman, I used to worry about being tricked by auto mechanics, but these guys have always been very honest...my best friends hubby is an auto mechanic and when I've told him what I'm being charged for work on my car he has always told me I was getting a great deal! These guys are great! I started with an oil change with them, and they did good. Then they helped me with some struts/shocks and I was happy with their work. Well, last week I felt something wrong with my suspension, so I took it in to them. They got back to me, said all I had a nail in one of my tires, so they patched the leak (they could have taken complete advantage of me, but they didn't). When I went to pick up the car, asked how the patch cost, they said it was free, on the house, for me being a loyal customer! I really really appreciate that respect and recognition from a business. I came in today for the 17-point oil change. I had a coupon I found online but when I went in Tim had a way better coupon for me to use. They were all very nice and knowledgeable. I knew my car had a few other issues so I expected them to try to push me to pay for more parts and labor than what I was comfortable with at the time but he was very understanding, told me I could wait but shouldn't wait too long. I have been coming to this location for years and never had a problem with anything until today. I called ahead asked for an oil change and tire rotation. I got there and there seemed to be no one really working. There were about 5 of us customers and 3 techs and a manager. My car was by the window so I was able to see what was done. The tech working on my car would do one thing then go and socialize with the other techs. This went on for the entire hr+ I was there. I noticed my tires were not rotated, no fluids were refilled, nor checked. The tech insisted the kid they had walking around checked it(btw..this kid had a tshirt on and not official midas attire) When I asked if my washer fluid was refilled he then said we can check it. Come to find out it wasn't filled. Why offer a full service when all they do is change the oil. They didn't check my air filter or cabin filter. So disappointed these lazy techs ruined a trusting relationship. read more

After having a nightmare service situation with Toyota Kearney Mesa, I called this Midas and for the exact same service and part replacement, they charged us three times less than Toyota. They were efficient, told us what we were going to pay upfront, and replaced the part in half hour instead of the hour they predicted. I was vacation in Arizona when my brakes went bad and had a local brake dealer fix them. After $700.00 worth of work and couple of weeks after I got back to San Diego the brakes starting making a clicking noise. Since I could not go back to Arizona to have the brakes fixed I dreaded trying to find a brake shop that would help me out. Well I found the best place ever. I came on yelp read reviews of a couple of places and this was the one with the most stars. So I thought I would give it a try. I SCORED. They were very sympathetic charged nothing to look at and when I got a call back he said your car is ready. I was stunned because I had to not received a call for the quote. He said don't worry about it, it was an easy fix and the next time I have a problem to come back and see them. What more could I ask for. I referred my mother in-law right away. If only all mechanics would be so honest people would not mind spending the money just as long as they knew they were not getting ripped off. Can every mechanic take a lesson from these guys? read more

The mechanics seem to be really good here. I bring the family's vehicles because it is close to the house and the prices are usually as good as anywhere else. Have always had excellent service and hot coffee. Sometimes I go to the Midas on Poway road near my work. Great service there as well. read more

Don't go here in a hurry! I brought my car in for an oil change and waited almost two hours while other customers went in and out with their cars. I'm not sure what gave them the impression I wanted to hang out and read magazines all day, but I won't be returning to this location to find out. The shop was clean. The clerk in the front gave me an approximation of an hour and a half wait time. I waited 2 hrs and was told that I needed to wait an extra hour because their mechanic had fallen behind. How is this for honest? Yesterday, my wife (and two kids) got a set of four tires from Tire & Wheel Outlet in the same strip mall. While doing so, T&WO mentioned that she needed an alignment and recommened Midas to her. While waiting for the tires to get installed she and the kids walked over to Midas to make an appointment to get an alignment done. Fast forward to today, I get a call on MY cell phone from Tony over at Midas asking for my wife. I return the call and ask if there is anything I could help with. Tony explains that my youngest (6yo) left his tablet at Midas and that we can go pick it up. I thanked him and relayed the message over to my wife. I wasn't there so I wasn't exactly sure what happened but was left thinking "Good to know that there are still honest people in the world". Later in the evening when my wife and I both get home from work she tells me that Tony (or someone at Midas) actually reviewed their security footage to see who left the tablet. Then once they figured out it was my wife, Midas realized they did not take any contact info for my wife (only the appointment). The did remember however, that she came from Tire & Wheel Outlet. Midas called over to T&WO and somehow were able to come to the conclusion that it was my wife's tablet. I usually take the cars in so it is my contact info in the T&WO system, which is why Tony called me. Now I am left thinking "Good to know that there are still honest people who are willing to go above and beyond to do the right thing in the world." I never met Tony or have even step foot in the place. When I bring back the car next week it will be my first time there. I hope I get to meet Tony face-to-face. This place has my business for life. PS - Tire & Wheel Outlet is just as great a business as this place. At the very least, bounce T&WO's price against Costco, Big O, Discount, etc. and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

Went for brake service & got the job done for $100 LESS than I was quoted elsewhere!! At one point, it seemed as if the technician was just hanging out & then he approached me to let me know he was waiting on parts. I really really appreciated that. Tony is doing something right at this location. My car needs a lot of work but now that I've met these guys, I'm not as worried as I once was. & Jerry is super patient & knowledgeable. & Armando was a great technician. the service I received from Midas was extremely poor. I do not want to even give the one star. I went in for my breaks and was quoted an outrages price. I went in on my lunch break and I waited 45 minutes before I had to ask if they would just call me because I needed to get back to work. after an hour and a half I called them and they said they would call me back in ten minutes. 30 minutes later I called them back only to have them tell me they would call me back in another ten minutes. I found another place to take my car and when I called Midas back to tell them I would not have them do the work on my car they were very rude. when I went to pick up the keys they told me it was going to be 30 minutes before my car would be ready to take off the lift (I just watched them put the tires back on the car). They however proceeded to back the car out five minutes later. All in all the service there was extremely poor and I would caution any one from even thinking about taking their car to Midas. The place I took my car to was $300 less and they were very prompt and efficient with getting my quote to me and fixing my car. This place deserves MINUS 5 stars. Had the hydraulic rack and pinion replaced for over 1000.00 dollars. First time I took the car it turned out the unit they got was VISIBLY defective. That should have been a red flag. Had to wait a week for a replacement unit. Took the car back and they did the work. In a couple of months, the unit started leaking fluid. Took it back and they said a fitting had worked lose. A few months later, same story. And so it happened several times until I seriously complained. They said they would check the unit and, lo and behold, they said the unit needed to be replaced!!!!!! So I pulled out the work order and receipt for the parts and labor they charged $1000.00+ for and they said it was no longer covered by the warranty. They refused to fix their very crappy work. I am considering suing them. GREATEST RIP-OFF EVER!!!!!!!! read more

I went to have my car brakes inspected on 9/18/12. They suggested replacing the front and back brakes. They also added more work to be done such as replacing the battery which they claim was weak,replacing the air filter, brake fluid, shocks, struts and allignment. They presented a bill for $1,709. I went for a second opinion down the street and found that most of the recommendations were not needed. The battery was not weak and I only needed the front brakes replaced since the back brakes is still up to 40%. I recommend not going to this place since they are not honest and just want to make more money. read more

The dipshit "servicing" my vehicle decided to omit the tire servicing and vaccuuming. After asking the front desk guy about the rest of the service, the lazy technician pulled the car back in and finished the rest of the service. Beware of the deceitful and lazy practices of this place when deciding where to service your car. read more

They are always so polite and professional and do a great job. Plus you're usually in and out in less than an hour. I've been going here for six years. The products they use is of good quality(they use Pennzoil and Napa oil filters) and the service is legitimate(depending who is working there) which is why I would give this place a five star rating however each time I come here, they do a complimentary inspection which is good in some ways but also terrible. But the reason why I am giving Midas one star because each time I take my truck in for an oil change, like I mentioned before, they perform a complimentary inspection without the owner's consent, that's the downfall of the service. On my recent oil change after they did their "inspection", I found out the bracket that helps my glovebox open and close broke so now the door drops open instead of gently coming down. I asked them how did the bracket break and they tell me they had to check the cabin air filter. I told the manager "since its your guys fault you have to pay for the repair because that's my property you damaged and it was a service I didn't ask for." He later tells me the way to fix the problem is to buy a new dashboard from Toyota, since the bracket is a one piece with the dashboard. I tell him I'm not paying for it, you guys are. He later had the nerve to tell me that its up to Toyota. Since when does Toyota become involved with Midas' customer service!? I was extremely disappointed with the negligence of the mechanic and unprofessionalism of the manager during this visit. In addition to this, I had some of the management come up and tell me that my truck needs a coolant flush, new shocks and struts, new rotors, new cabin air filter and other unnecessary garbage. I may have had my truck for six years now but it only has 53k miles on it so why would I need a coolant flush or new shocks if the truck hasn't even reached 100k. They like to B.S. their customers and make them think they need an expensive "suggested" service just so you can give them more of your money. The suggestions they offer you may seem legitimate but they're really overpriced. They wanted me to spend $50 to change the cabin air filter when I can do it myself for only $15. Simply put, avoid the complimentary inspection, do not fall for their suggested maintenance games, just get what came for only and get out of there. read more

I've been coming to Midas on convoy for at least 2 years now. They are excellent on price and quality of service. I've had mechanics quote me $100+ for jobs that Midas easily did for less. And the work has always been fantastic. It's better to make an appointment and expect to wait 30-45 min for an oil change+ tire rotation. But the wait is worth it! I've been to other oil change locations and my car would smell like burning oil or they would forget to screw back down my engine cover. Never happens with Midas. The guys who work here are trustworthy and know what they're doing. I moved an hour away and will still bring my car to them when I make a commute to San Diego. 5/5 for these great workers! read more

Awesome customer service! Came in without an appointment at 5pm (they close at 6) for a break inspection and they let me know that the reason they have been squeaking for months is because the a** who replaced them took advantage of the fact that I was a young girl and put used breaks which weren't even the right type for my car. They replaced my breaks and serviced my rotors AND let me know I was overdue for a oil change and did that also all just before they closed. And for a VERY reasonable price. I don't live or work in the area I was referred by a friend but I will definitely not hesitate to come here for all my car services.
