I usually have a good experience here. But today, not so much. They told me that my skid plate…read morewasn't usable -- as they wrote on my receipt the "skid plate bolts were missing on arrival," and the "skid plate being held up by zip ties." They told me that they would have to take off the screws and then couldn't put it back. They showed me one of the screws that they say were stripped. Since I've only come here for oil changes (and once at the College Hill Valvoline), and I don't change my own oil, it had to be Valvoline themselves in the past who stripped the bolts and put on the zip ties, without telling me there was a problem. And their only solution was to chop off the bolts? They don't have any replacement bolts they could use? They did ask if I wanted the oil changed, before they took off the skid plate. I did agree, because I needed an oil change and, yes, they did the work. They said that the car probably would be okay without a skid plate. When I asked if the problem was that they don't have the bolts or if the problem is a bad skid plate, they replied that it's "either" that they don't have the plates or the skid plate is bad. Huh? In other words, they don't really know which is wrong, and didn't care to go the extra mile & try to find out and try to replace my skid plate. They really weren't that concerned that I was losing a car part here and a protection for the underside of my car, nor did they really take responsibility for the problem. And it wasn't an easy communication: the person handling the case spoke very quickly, with poor enunciation in between his words, so I needed to keep telling him to slow down & speak clearer. He hadn't really learned how to use a "customer voice." For the price, not sure I got good value here. I lost a skid plate, & will need to go back to my dealer to get a new one put on. (Correction: after calling the dealer, I went back and got the skid plate, which Valvoline had already thrown in the dumpster, and the dealer is going to see if they can put it back on, using Honda's bolts). As I said, I usually get good service here, but am totally unimpressed by the current crew they have working there.

So I'm happy I've found Christian brothers. They have been very transparent, have great service and fair pricing. The staff is constantly pleasant and responsive. We've taken several cars there and each time have received good service. Today was an oil change. I appreciate the free inspection to know what needs to be considered for future work. They also give photos of the items in question. The waiting area is always clean and comfortable. When I picked up the car there was a handwritten note thanking me for the business. In this day - any thank you note is an above and beyond gesture, but to have it hand written was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely continue to do business with them.

Today, my car has a mechanism that slows my car down when it's time for an oil change. So I decided to visit that same location on Kemper rd near the former Tri-County Mall in Springdale, OH on my lunch break. I first stopped by a store down the street to get some water for my medicine, as they had a line. When I arrived and got in the second line, there was a vehicle that had to have been in that first lane for at least ten minutes before I returned. I noticed it was now almost twenty minutes and no one walked up to my car to let me know how long the wait would be, There was at least ten staff members and most of them were walking past my car staring at me and turning away. I caught one staff person staring at me with a smirk on his face as if I have some nerve being there. I ignored him , but then I began to feel somewhat unsettled about the exchange. I was worried that my car may go into another sleep mode until I get an oil change so I felt frustrated and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt I looked up thinking the vehicle in front of me was going to pull away as the staff that completed the oil change appeared along with others standing there with him laughing as if they had nothing left to do for the day. I then looked at my phone and I had five minutes to get back to work (and I was only five minutes away). I can provide proof if Valvoline would like proof. (As I will be contacting corporate.) I don't know if this is a new crew or I just came on a day the old crew was off but they were all new faces and they did not exude any customer service to me. The only acknowledgment I received was from that same smirking gentleman putting air in the tires of the vehicle in front of me. He was constantly looking up at me, then turning to see if others noticed that he was in fact ignoring me. So at this point, I drove back to work. The car that was there before me in the first almost hit me after they saw me pulling out, as they decided to leave as well.

Brought a vehicle in for overheating on Jan 25th, it took them three days to replace a fan clutch…read moreand a thermostat firstly (claimed their tech would be out for a day and that there was NO ONE to work on it). I went back when I was told it was done on the 28th and there "was an issue with the water pump and that it was visibly leaking". The visible leak was nowhere near the water pump, and was from the thermostat housing they installed. I incurred transportation costs and lost time at work because of their delays. A salesperson even agreed with me that it was the thermostat. They didn't call me back until the 3rd, although they claimed to attempt to reach me the day before (I'll take their word on it). They said they put a new thermostat on it. Now, I called corporate on Jan 30th because of the delay, and then added on all the problems about them misdiagnosing my vehicle and trying to make me spend an extra $400 for an unnecessary timing chain service to reach the water pump. They called back on the 2nd asking for more information, which I provided. I simply wanted a partial refund for all the hassle this shop has put me through to offset the costs of an unacceptably long delay. (A DIYer can do the thermostat and fan clutch on this vehicle in an afternoon). Corporate proceeded to call me back on February 9th, defend the actions of the mechanic (even the salesperson had a few choice words for the decision making of this mechanic on-site), say the water pump was necessary because "manufacturer recommends it to be serviced by then" (diagnostics did not even bring up the water pump until the leak happened), and that they would not be helping me with this. The representative had a very condescending tone and seemed to only be defending the company instead of making things right with a customer they wronged. In a separate incident in their Anderson location, my father had to physically go into the shop and spin the wheel of his truck for the tech to hear the wheel bearing because they didn't believe the wheel bearing was the problem - because the computer said it wasn't! Tire Discounters has, on multiple occasions, locations and against multiple people, repeatedly shown to have terrible customer service, techs that should not be working on vehicles and so-called 'professionals' with worse turnaround times than someone untrained could do with a youtube video and with higher standards. I will never go to Tire Discounters again and I will actively encourage anyone that I know of to not go there.
