I've been going to Valvoline for about twenty years since switching from Jiffy Lube as Valvoline was closer when I relocated, but I felt good about bringing my car back to them as I was always acknowledged and greeted by the staff, and they would let me know approximately how long it will take while waiting in que. Today, my car has a mechanism that slows my car down when it's time for an oil change. So I decided to visit that same location on Kemper rd near the former Tri-County Mall in Springdale, OH on my lunch break. I first stopped by a store down the street to get some water for my medicine, as they had a line. When I arrived and got in the second line, there was a vehicle that had to have been in that first lane for at least ten minutes before I returned. I noticed it was now almost twenty minutes and no one walked up to my car to let me know how long the wait would be, There was at least ten staff members and most of them were walking past my car staring at me and turning away. I caught one staff person staring at me with a smirk on his face as if I have some nerve being there. I ignored him , but then I began to feel somewhat unsettled about the exchange. I was worried that my car may go into another sleep mode until I get an oil change so I felt frustrated and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt I looked up thinking the vehicle in front of me was going to pull away as the staff that completed the oil change appeared along with others standing there with him laughing as if they had nothing left to do for the day. I then looked at my phone and I had five minutes to get back to work (and I was only five minutes away). I can provide proof if Valvoline would like proof. (As I will be contacting corporate.) I don't know if this is a new crew or I just came on a day the old crew was off but they were all new faces and they did not exude any customer service to me. The only acknowledgment I received was from that same smirking gentleman putting air in the tires of the vehicle in front of me. He was constantly looking up at me, then turning to see if others noticed that he was in fact ignoring me. So at this point, I drove back to work. Now I know why I dont use these places. When I went in to ask for a tire rotation, of course, the machine was broke. I couldnt get a receipt becuase the printer was broke! I called because I need the receipt because I am selling my car. They told me 24-48 hours to get a receipt! What? I also had a $25 coupon and it still cost me $107 for the oil change and air filter! Unskilled workers!!!! The crew that was there before this current crew are more skilled. I had a headlight that went out so I requested them to fix it. Since they replaced it a couple of times before. This staff person said I needed to go to the dealership which was false. He didn't know how to repair the light like his coworkers before him. I don't usually review anything but restaurants, but I've had such great service at Valvoline, I felt the need to break out a bit. Have been to Valvoline twice and found the staff 100% professional and helpful. No pressure to buy or fix unnecessary things. Quick in and out too. My friend took her car to Valvoline in order to get a quick top off. The manager, Orlando, noticed the last time that she got an oil change and that she was way overdo for the service. He offered her $30 off in order to get the full oil change instead of a top off because that was better for her car. Everyone was so professional and efficient including Douglas, Michael, and Khalil. They changed the oil and filters, checked tire pressure and filled the tires with air. Along with the service, they check the brake fluid level, power steering fluid level, coolant reservoir level, transmission fluid level, and everything else . They also reset the oil service indicator light before we left . The whole staff was so professional and very speedy with their service. Mike and I stopped in after work, right before the business closed. The staff were courteous, professional and knowledgeable. They changed the oil and provided half a dozen other services. I normally prefer going to valvoline when I can't change my own oil. And most of the time I have decent service, enough to keep me coming back. But this location was top notch. OK, question for self: Why review an oil-change place? Not my usual strategy on Yelp. But every once in a while, service at an establishment makes me wanna Yelp. And this is such a place. After having put off my oil change and coolant change for so long, I decided on a whim to pull in here during a Costco run. Glad I did. Very warm and welcoming, informative staff without high-pressure sales tactics. Just "OK, you want this? fine. Here's the price" and a smile. And of course: "We suggest this and this." But a "no" was a fine answer, and more information was contextualized with real information, not fake scare tactics about cars. Service provided within timeframe given. Very nice folks. I've abandoned many an oil change place I suspected of hiring practicing addicts and sleezebags. That feeling here? Not at all. I will be back. read more

I really hope I selected the right location for this review, because my experience there was fantastic. I want to shout out Rain, specifically, for his fabulous service. The whole team seemed very nice and efficient, but he personally oversaw my service and was lovely from start to finish. As someone who is always lacking on spare time, it is so nice to have a place within a few miles of my home that I know I can pull up, get my work done and be out of there in a timely manner. Don't bother with this place! I went in for a simple oil change and they suggested my windshield wipers and air filter be changed as well. After some hesitation I agreed to have them all done. After leaving the lot I drove about 20 seconds before my car lost power. Someone met me to see if he could fix the issue. He obviously had no idea what he was doing and only wasted time. After getting it towed to the Nissan dealer we discovered my MAS needed to be replaced. And, naturally the part was on back order. My car stayed in the shop for about three weeks. Corey, who I assume is the store manager or lack there of wanted to make it a cheap and easy fix. Suggesting I go to one of his buddies to fix my car, completely forgetting they are the reason my car is in the shop to begin with. My initial oil change was absolutely free due to a prior issue with Valvoline. After this was all said and done Corey offered to give me a refund for the oil change or a free oil change voucher. This to me is mind blowing! I know you probably only have a middle school education, but do you really think I will be returning to your establishment. To make matters worse my tow truck driver told me this happens often with this Valvoline. If you want an oil change just go to your car dealer. No need to deal with uneducated, ignorant, small minded, pathetic and delusional people. If I had to guess I would say that all of these guys are middle/ high school drop outs who can't write in cursive and don't know what a 401K is. read more

A business does it right when you drive away anticipating the Yelp review. I've never been a fan of instant oil change businesses- until I used this one. There are many options closer to home, but I will drive to this one for all of my oil/maintenance needs from now on, and I will be recommending them. The service is great, and they are very informative without being pushy. Of course they will recommend a few additional products or packages, but that is their business- and they do it well. The prices are great considering the customer service you receive here. read more
