I snapped a picture of the guys opening the hood for the review-- largely because this place had no pictures and had not been reviewed. The manager came running to the window "ma'am. What did you just do. Did you take pictures of my techs??!!! You can't take pictures of my techs. They dont like that!!!!!!!!" I offered to block their faces out, but she wouldn't relent. Fine. There is no expectation of privacy here. This place was a nightmare and it's pretty much because of the manager. 0/10 spend your money elsewhere After a bit of being howled at about how I was going to have to erase the pictures, I asked "are you a person?" She thought for a second and said "no! I'm an alien!!!" "Ah, now it all makes sense." I replied. "You can just get out of my store and keep going!" Happily.

It wasn't tightened during the initial oil change and was never checked when brought back for the follow-up inspection. The seal wasn't leaking then, and the seal isn't leaking now, there is no seal leak. I tightened the drain plug, that was the issue, problem solved. -You are correct, a staff member did check the oil level and it was still at an acceptable level just minus what had leaked out. -You are correct, I was allowed downstairs to view what was thought to be a leaking seal and I appreciate that. -Yes, the drain plug is in good condition now that I've tightened it, it is holding oil as intended. At no point did I claim that any of your staff created a "seal leak" as the result of an oil change. The plug was loose and got overlooked twice, that's it. My intention was never to get anything out of this, its informational only and a reflection of this specific visit. Thank you.

I cannot speak badly of the speed of this operation, the convenience aspect of this facility is unmatched by any other local service option. That said, you're paying a hefty price for that convenience and the balance finally tipped for me when a routine oil change/filter crept above $75. The staff is friendly, particularly the new manager. Based on the high staffing turnover at this location I've watched over the years, I wouldn't expect that to remain the case. One thing that could be improved is the computer tracking system. There were multiple times I received notices in the mail referencing my need for an oil change at XXX miles, when in fact my vehicle was three oil changes beyond that mileage number, and all the service was done by them. I also had issue with them showing me a nearly pure white air filter with two Japanese beetles in it and suggesting it was time to replace it. I'd ask when the last time it was replaced, and they had no idea. Again, this service was completed by them previously, and that information should have been at their fingertips. This has happened multiple times, it's not a one-off error. Other reviewers have suggested they don't try and up sell you on things, I don't think that is entirely true in my experience. They aren't rude, but the cash cow air filter / wiper blade sales is obviously something they're happy to make big margins on. I'm sure it's part of the employees mandate. Sell as much of these items as possible, because our profit margins are exceptional, and the physical swap out takes a matter of seconds. It's easy money. Go to one of the four or five auto parts stores within a mile of this location and get the same item for a fraction of the cost. A $20 wiper blade? No thanks. Long story short, their prices are not competitive with other local options and the convenience of the 10-minute oil change is no longer worth the extra $ to me. I'll wait 45 minutes down the road, and get a free tire rotation while I'm at it.

(Holy cow, I just realized that I've had a draft of this review sitting unfinished for over 2.5…read moreyears. I'm a terrible Yelper. Anyway, better late than never...) So after an unfortunate meeting with a large piece of metal on a rural road, I rolled my poor Nissan Sentra over to the only auto repair place in Freeport that I knew about (thanks to its distinction as the "best repair shop in town," according to a local newspaper survey). Even though I hobbled in just minutes before closing time, they took their time to check out the damage and then gave me a quick assessment of the situation (which ended up with a gathering of employees staring at the underside of my car in amazement that something could have done so much destruction without resulting in a complete breakdown (or an explosion (seriously))). Ultimately, my auto was toast, and it couldn't be put back on the road without significant work. Dave, the owner, stuck around to help me figure out a rental car, and then actually offered to drop me off on his way home! I don't want to make it sound like this should be expected as standard practice, but this level of customer service -- even in a rare exceptional situation -- is pretty much unheard of. All in all, the work that they did was perfect, they went the extra mile personally and professionally, and I'm still happily chugging along 60,000-or-so miles later. I'm going to need some more work done again soon, and it's too bad that I wasn't able to take the Auto Repair Specialists with me when I moved back to the Chicago burbs.

They replaced my tires and battery in just over an hour and did an excellent job. Pricing, service, and the overall experience was fantastic. These people are great. My vehicle hadn't even been serviced yet. We have done business for years with this group. Recently we looked the other way when they performed an oil change on one of our trucks to only drive it 30 miles and the oil light when on. They failed to place the required amount of oil into the engine. They have performed many farm calls for us. But I think it's time to find someone else.
