The site to write complaints is inadequate and infuriating. Tried to send my complaint by email but it was undeliverable. Anytime my car is operating top notch before inspection and it fails with no apparent symptoms, I get suspicious. My car failed due to a broken right sway bar link, so I had it replaced at what I thought was a high price for the part. I asked the manager if this was for one side or both and he said just for the right side since they were left/right specific. This didn't make sense to me since I repair items that are paired like pads and rotors at the same time, Nevertheless, I consented. While I waited, I observed the manager and the serviceman with their torches near the left sway bar link.?? Didn't think nothing about it at the time, nevertheless driving home I heard noise from the rear that wasn't there before. The next day I looked under the vehicle and saw the left sway bar link disconnected at the top. I bought the part for 18.99 + tax and installed it myself afterward. According to the DEX FS maintenance package, I'm not sure the tires were ever rotated, and washer fluid was listed as added and charged when I had filled it myself the night before. The way I am, I don't bother reconciling grievances, I just don't return. I am inclined to say that my store experience has left me not so much as accusatory as I am suspicious with a lost sense of confidence in Midas. I went there to get an inspection they failed my inspection 40 minutes later they took my car off the rack and told me I failed for back brakes I watch people stand around the back of the car looking at the snowfall then they came and told me I failed my inspection I paid for the inspection then they charged me another $11 for a reinspection I which they never took my tires off to see if the brakes were really done . This is the Auburn store . My car is set in the parking lot for 25 minutes waiting to get my keys back after they put the sticker on it and it was only because I complained to them about their service . This will be turned in to the BBB and the Attorney General's office this place is nothing but a scam . I have done business with these people for many years and will never go back again they will never make another dollar from me just to keep you others aware watch how long you sit and wait and they scam you .... read more

So my friend went to midas and he paid for several new parts because all the old parts were bad rusted and he had a kinda of bad experience because someone at midas switched the old rusty parts w more old rusty parts that broke and had to be fixed a second time w his Warrenty. Why would old rusty bolts be installed if he paid for things to be changed shouldn't he have seen new silver parts underneath replacing the old parts? Yes the warranty covered the repair and it hopefully is fixed correctly the second time. But I just don't understand why the job was done the way it was the first time after my friend paid the amount requested to fix his vehicle properly so it was safe to drive. I'm just updating the review that I left 4 months ago. At that time, I was concerned that the truck pulled to the right shortly after Midas repaired my brakes. Midas disagreed. Last month, I drove the truck to Florida. The brakes still seemed to pull. Yesterday, I noticed that the new brakes were making noise, so I checked them, myself, and noticed that the new brake caliper was never properly attached to the new brake line. The left hand brakes were leaking brake fluid all along, to the point where the master cylinder was nearly void of brake fluid, and it peeled most of the paint away from the new caliper. I fixed the problem myself, and now, 4 months later, the brakes are finally working like they did, just before Midas "worked" on them, in September. I've posted a photo of Midas's work, 4 months later, IE: the new caliper with most of the paint peeled away, by leaking brake fluid, with a new brake line to the lower right. This caused the brakes to pull, and a brake fluid leak, that could have eventually resulted in complete brake failure. 4 months ago, I sent the original complaint to Midas, as per their request. Nothing happened. I'm thankful that their "work" didn't kill us. read more

Disappointed. I went there for an inspection. When they called me back they informed me that I needed a new driver side wiper in order to pass inspection. I did not notice any issues with my wipers prior to this (feel like I can tell when they aren't quite working right). Anyway, I agreed to 2 new wipers so that I could be done. When I discussed it with my husband later he reminded me that he had just replaced them in October with a very nice expensive pair. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I wished I had kept my old wipers to determine if they truly needed replacing. The workers were nice although the front attendants mask was not worn correctly. I'm assuming because he thinks the virus is a hoax by the statement he made to me. Won't be going back! read more

The guys here do a very good job with oil changes. They are friendly and professional and inform you with any issues before working on vehicles but it doesn't feel like they are trying to upsell you on services that aren't required. I haven't really had to use them for anything other than inspections and oil changes but so far I've been happy. read more

If your customers have an appointment scheduled and u wait to tell them when they get there that you are an hour behind schedule, that's just rude and unprofessional. This did not happen just once but twice. Needless to say we will not be returning. Get your sh*t together. read more

This is your standard Midas. It does have experienced technicians though with few is any rookies. My oil change, tire rotation took about 70 minutes. I was offered a tire balance and air filter as an up-sale, but not pressured. In my old city I had a tech show me the filter once and then blast it with the air gun to clean it off and said, "most places try to sell you one for $25 bucks, you can do it yourself for $10 or blow it off. LOL I was a loyal customer after that. Midas is no better or worse. Be your own car care advocate, double check or get a second estimate if something seems off. Waiting area is clean and comfortable. Courtesy coffee was actually really good. Easy parking, easy to get to. read more

Had to gave an emergency tow to here this week. They fit me in for the day despite being pretty booked up. Total was $680 and they didn't even charge me to install my new wipers! They clarified when I asked for the new ones that mine would get me through, but I still wanted the new ones (bad clips are annoying!). They got my things done as soon as possible and I can't help being thankful. read more

At first it sounded like a Harley was left in the trunk. I took it back in and they tightened some things so now it only sounds like a dirt bike back there. Midas in camillus damaged my vehicle while performing an oil change. I had yellow paint and huge sratches on my car... when I brought the store manager Dennis's attention he made jokes and belittled to the situation talking about yellow balloons are the only thing in his shop ... I pointed out that they have yellow lifts in their shop and the yellow balloons are not the only thing yellow and they're shop ..I got customer service involved and was put in contact with the district general manager rich who had me talk to the assistant store manager Josh. after showing my vehicle to Josh he agreed that he would fix it and would talk to Rich in regards to getting my car repaired at a shop they use and having Midas take care of the invoice 100%. for two weeks they stated they were going to pay for my vehicle per Josh who I was told the district manager and Josh were communicating the whole entire time. once Midas got the invoice the story changed and they would not take any ownership of the damages. my damages were $800 (per their repair shop who was also told when the appointment was made by midas they were covering the invoice at 100 percent) and midas stated they would not cover any of the damages. I expressed to the general manager rich that Josh informed me that Midas would cover the bill. Rich informed me that is not what he was being told by Josh. I was told by Rich that he would cover 50% of the bill and I need to be grateful for that and they're only giving me 50% because I am a loyal customer for over 10 years. I have no proof that this happened at their shop because I do not have footage of the incident that happened. the district general manager was arrogant and rude.. the store manager Dennis I feel treated me differently because I'm a woman talking about balloons and the assistant store manager Josh lied to my face for two weeks and called me during those two weeks telling me that midas would pick up the bill and had me do all this running around making phone calls when realistically they were NOT going to cover it at all. People should be aware of what this Midas shop is doing and if they damage your vehicle they should own up to it. my car had no damage coming into the shop. My car was band NEW!. I asked if they can check their cameras a when my vehicle went into their shop the answer that I got was completely different then what they told corporate. they did the damage while the car was in their possession.. do not take your car here because if they damage your car in any way and they will not take any ownership of it!! read more

I have a fleet vehicle and took it in for its scheduled maintenance. They were very busy but fit me in and worked on my car. The staff was seriously wonderful. Dennis, the manager, was incredibly nice and funny. I had a surprisingly nice time conversing with the others in the waiting room and I could tell this was a "everybody knows everybody" kind of place. The kitschy phrase "Customers come first at Midas" is the truth at this shop. Have been going here for over five years with two cars and have put down a pretty penny during that time. Never have I felt as if the repairs were unwarranted or over the top. Just recently I had a power issue with my 10yr old Elantra and ended up getting the clutch replaced - that didn't fix my problem... (I had been teaching my 16yr old daughter to drive a stick shift - so the repair was needed) I took it back to the shop and the shop manager listened intently when I told him "well I looked on google..." No rolling of the eyes, no brush off... They went ahead and followed my suggestion and cleaned off the throttle body and that did the trick. Yeah I laid out a grand for a transmission repair that didn't fix what I thought was wrong, it was needed regardless. The fact that they listened to me and offered me shop credit if the second fix didn't work... (I didn't complain or ask for it) That's customer service. When you go there ask for Dennis (the shop manager) or John (asst manager/chief mechanic) they won't steer you wrong. On a side note, I have yet to leave the shop and have something else break down a few days later... You all know what I mean. read more

Stop in and asked if I could get a NYS inspection on 10/31 @ 12:52pm. There was four ppl working and nobody in the waiting area. An older gentlemen (found out later he is the manager) came in from outside and greeted me. I was greeted with an attitude when I said I didn't have an appointment for an inspection. Asked to take down my name and that he can get me in for an appointment at 3pm. ***Spent the last 12yrs in Virginia and you can't make an appointment for car inspection. Bought a new SUV when I moved to NY and this is first time getting an inspection in NYS*** I thought ok they are taking their lunch and I can run over to the bank and Target. I come back at 2:45pm and was greeted by the same older gentleman. He takes down the rest of my information, grabs my keys and says we will get you in shortly. I take a walk over to Autozone to kill some more time. Come back at 3:10 and SUV hasn't moved. I ask for my keys back as I don't have any more time. The older gentlemen asks me why I want my keys. I say I don't have any more time to wait and that my appointment was for 3pm. He tells me that is has only been 10 minutes and that I should be thankful. He says this is like a doctors office. My response is this isn't a doctors office and that he could have told me 2 hours ago if they couldn't get my car in. He was the one that gave me the 3pm appointment. He continued to be rude before he gave me my keys and lecture me about my patience. At this point I ask him to stop being a "Richard". This sent him over the edge and he told me he hoped I didn't have any children. You typically go to place like Midas (National Chain) because they have the kinks worked out and are held to a higher standard of professionalism.
