The earliest installation date they had was Tuesday, June 24. So I waited four days. On that Tuesday around 3:30 PM, I got an email saying my service was activated. I got home at 4:15 PM, followed the instructions to set up the router, waited 15 minutes, nothing. Restarted it, unplugged it, tried everything. Still nothing. I called customer service, wasted 10 minutes navigating their ridiculous phone system, and finally reached technical support, only to be told by a robot that I'd have to wait 45 minutes to speak to someone. I waited 14 minutes before realizing this was total BS, grabbed my keys, went straight to Verizon, and got home internet for a better price. No upfront fees, no connection charges, just plugged the router into the wall, waited 5 minutes, and boom, 398 Mbps. That's 338 more than CenturyLink was offering me for just $10 more. Then it gets worse. I go online to cancel the CenturyLink service, which never even worked, and they have the nerve to charge me $28 to disconnect a service I never had, on top of the $50 deposit they already took from me. This company is a complete scam. A rip-off. They should be investigated by the authorities. Stay far away from CenturyLink. There are much better options out there. This one is a total disaster.

The value diminishes every month, they raise rates without appropriate notification. You may pay more than your neighbor for the exact same service and Midco Support will lie to your face about it. The staff is generally unpleasant to deal with. They sent out an interesting discount to my email but then refused to apply the discount because they claimed it'd already been applied. It had not, it was clear as day on my statement. The manager I spoke to was extremely condescending and flat out rude. When cancelling my service, I was grilled on when I was moving out and why I was choosing to call earlier (about 2 weeks in advance). None of the information demanded was necessary to close my account, they were simply nosy and had a rude tone.

Now, they are harassing me for $50 because someone came out for that. Now here is the real kicker: it is of NO FAULT of mine that outlet was tripping. Turns out the new meter the ELECTRIC COMPANY put in ran on frequency that would trip GFCI outlets in close proximity. I have explained this alliance, and they still demand $50 from me.
