I have been going to Pallens…read moreAutomotive for probably 25 years or more, I ran an automotive parts store and serviced the Pallens shop and even his one son Michael worked for me. I have two vehicles, my 2012 Chevy Silverado 4x4 and my wife's 2013 Ford escape AWD. My wife's car had a check engine light and a low tire pressure light come on the dash. I've told Tom, Steven, Victor and all of the other mechanics to never put cheap or one year warranty parts on any of my vehicles and from day one I've never complained about a repair bill. Now after calling and telling Steven that the code was 051, a crank case pressure sensor. Steven called and told me to bring the car into the shop Friday at 9:30am and he'll check it out. Now every time I deal with Steven he tells me that he'll check it out and call me but that never happens and we're without a car for two to three days and when I call he tells me oh I gotta check this or I gotta check that when in reality he's blowing smoke up my butt. Well the truth came out that Friday. When my wife dropped off her car she asked when can I pick up my car, now remember Steven told me 9:30am, well it was 8:30am. My wife was to told she could pick up her car at 4:00pm. I picked up my wife at her job in Elyria at 3:55pm and drove straight to Pallens and I'm sitting in the parking lot waiting. Finally she comes out and I asked what's going on and she tells me that the young mechanic just ran out to the parking lot and pulled her car into the garage and changed the sensor. She paid the bill and we leave, driving home on broadway my wife calls me and and says that the check engine light and tire pressure light is still on. I told her to turn around and go back. She's told that Steven will get the sensor from the Ford dealership and she asked about the tire pressure sensor and was told she has to make an appointment even though they stock those sensors. This proved to me that Steven was peeing on my foot and trying to tell me that it's raining. You cannot believe anything Steven tells you. When a man's words ring empty (Stay away) I've had repair bills of $2000 sometimes more and I never complained about any one of them but when you show me that patronizing, your business means nothing that I take my money and spend it elsewhere. Thank you Stephen you save me some money you can blow smoke up somebody else else's you'll never do it to me again.

They mucked it up 6 ways to Sunday blaming it on everything from phones to computers. When finally told what was supposed to be done, the jackass never put it up on a rack to see if it was the problem. Another bunch of excuses on that. I suggest going anywhere but there. They'll gladly take your money but won't stand by their work.

When I took the car for another e-check, they failed my car, even though I had spent over $400.00. I went back to Michael's to complain. He got in the car with me and we went to the e-check site. He complained to the manager to no avail. I dropped him off at the shop, he said he was going to call the EPA. He called and talked to "Dave" at Ohio E-check. He overrode the decision to fail my car. I went back and my repairs were accepted and my car passed. Great job for Michael's!! I will definitely will be going back for any other repairs that I need.

I came back up there a couple of months later after going through chemo/ Radiation because the balls joints quite literally were ready to fall off and I was told he knock off $50 because of the earlier incident where they charged me $100 for the misdygnosis for the wheel bearings. My girlfriend went inside after I came out and tried to come to my defense and he stood by his decision that he made the right call to overtighten the wheel bearings instead of replacing the lower and upper ball joints and now he refuses to make the situation right!! I though you had to have integrity, honestly to be successful business owner in Lorain , Ohio? This Shop is located off of 254 in Lorain as well. I will be promptly contacting the better business bureau in Lorain to see what recourse I have available to me as well.

I have sent several friends to White's Auto and they have always been satisfied. He has worked on my older vehicles as well as my newer vehicles. There was horrible communication between Mopar and the dealership and with them giving us any information needed--we still haven't even gotten our issue resolved. It seems those two organizations don't communicate. It was also interesting because the dealership claimed that we had rust and corrosion (why they claim the warranty wasn't valid) but when we looked under our vehicle (only 3 years old) when we received it back, there was no rust or corrosion of the sort there. Just really an overall HORRIBLE experience. Would not recommend one bit.

They first told me to pay 290 but I got it down to 260 once I asked why it's that expensive (especially for that close of a distance). The car was only there for a couple hours, I don't understand the insane pricing and how they wanted me to pay almost 300 dollars at first. Also did not give me my parking ticket I had to pay and texted me on Facebook messenger 2 days later about how they had my parking ticket; the police said it should have been in my car. Very inconvenient and not the most organized.
