UPDATE: after one year of (excellent) service my rate changed from $90 to $136. I found another area business offering the same size and amenities for $71. I called Midgard to ask them to match the rate. The clerk never got back to me and when I called to make a payment and ask about it she replied,"I'm waiting on corporate." I will now have to waste a whole afternoon moving the units contents to another facility. read more

Do not use this storage unit as they are shitty! mom storage unit was broken into. Items were stolen other items were damaged. My mother had insurance on the storage unit through midgard. Midgard refuses to respond to my mother's calls and request. Three police reports has been sent to midgard per their request. Please reports were also notarized. Nothing has been done. My mother is 80 years old and she is being jerked around by this company. I will be obtaining an attorney. If you have questions or comments my number is 6786005911. Worst customer service I've ever experienced! Had my unit locked-up for a late payment on an insurance charge which I had already documented. Could not get a return call for 8 days so went in person to clear up. Was told I needed to pay $9.50 for their insurance plus a $36.00 late fee. I paid both charges reluctantly. Three weeks later I was notified that my access to my unit was blocked again for an outstanding balance. When I finally got to talk to an agent I was informed I should have paid $9.70 for the insurance instead of $9.50 (which I was previously told) therefore I still owed 20 cents plus another $36.00 late fee! My blood boils again just writing this review. I don't know how these crooks stay in business. read more

Been fighting with this company for five months. Cancelled a unit and provided them notice to move out in January. They said I had to pay rent until the end of February because I have to provide 30 days notice prior to the start of the next month. So essentially they got 50 days notice (i think the worse policy in the business). However, I had the account set up for auto pay and they kept charging my account even after February. Called them twice, emailed and visited the location (nobody works in the office anymore, you speak to some guy on a big digital screen remotely). Still no refund and they are still trying to charge my account (which i stopped). AWEFULL CUSTOMER SERVICES AND NO RESPONSIVENESS. Next stop is an unfair and deceptive trade practice claim against them. read more

Sunshine Boat and RV Storage After storing my RV and truck for years with another storage facility I decided to look for something closer to my home. I ran across Sunshine Boat and RV located just three miles from my house. The facility was in it final stages of being constructed, so I went on their user friendly website and reserved a beautiful state of the art pull through site. I wanted to be able to leave my truck and RV attached not requiring me to hook and unhook on each use. Shortly after making reservations I received a phone call from the owner ( Janine ), she was so polite and understanding, she understood what it means for a customer to want a clean, safe and ergonomically designed facility. Their spots are all designed for easy access, which also includes WiFi, full electrical up, security cameras and most of all they are spacious. In addition the facility has a wash station, air, vacuum and a dump station. All of this is included in their monthly rates. What else could a customer ask for, a well kept state of the art storage facility with a owner that is highly experienced in customer service! My son and I went over this week and washed my RV and truck, we also started to prepare the RV for a trip next month. It was the difference between night and day compared to my old storage facility. Speaking of night and day, they have so many lights mounted, that the facility looks like daytime during the night hours. I couldn't be more satisfied with my decision to store my investment at my new space. Congratulations to the owners for thinking of every little detail to ensure the ease of use and peace of mind for their customers. read more

When they were Lanier storage it was fine. When Midguard bought it out it was awful. My 12 year old son and I had to move quickly and put everything we owned in this place. We were given the first 3 months 1/2 off. It was sold before our first month was up and I got an email saying I owed the full amount. I explained my situation(my son and I were homeless and carless and living in a tent) and asked why I was being charged in full. All they said was " we have chosen not to honor that contract". The had our unit locked down right away. I begged them to allow me to pay the 1/2 for 3 months as planned and got nothing. Then when I tried to pay the 1/2 rent because it was all I had they said they could not take a partial payment and started charging us late fees. We were not even allowed to go in and get out jackets and blankets when it was 20 degrees out. Last week they auctioned everything we had for $160. They are the worst of the worst. Run, run away from this company!!! They took over an existing storage location that I have been renting from for years. I have always paid by credit card autopay and have never had a late payment. I had no idea that ownership was changing until I got a late notice. Evidently they did not transfer autopay info from the old owner. Since I received the late notice I have made many attempts to contact them to give them my cc info and clear my balance. I always got sent to voicemail and did not get a prompt return call. They would call several days later and leave a message but when I attempted to return their call it would again go to voicemail. I finally received documents via text message to e-sign but the fields to input cc info would not accept any input. Made another attempt to phone and went once again to voicemail! When I returned to town from traveling and physically went to the facility the on-site manager was unable to remove unfair late fees. He escalated to his manager who I spoke to at length on speaker phone while in the facility (along with another customer who walked in and was having similar problems) I was assured multiple times that although she did not have the authority to remove the late fees that she would be meeting with her supervisor that day and would bring my account to their attention. That was Thursday, it is now the following Wednesday and I have made multiple attempts to resolve. Multiple times I have been told she had some future meeting with "supervisors" even getting a text once that "I am meeting now" yet still no resolution has been communicated to me. They have locked my unit and are threatening to auction my belongings. Seems like they would rather confiscate belongings from the former businesses long time customers than resolve issues the arose from a poorly executed transfer of ownership! read more

Tried to charge $50 cancellation fee for reservation when they did not have the truck that was confirmed available for rental. Manager is belligerent by nature. Needs training in compassion, understanding, empathy for others. Will interrupt every attempt you make to communicate with her and has the gall to ask you to speak more loudly and then interrupt you again. Would have been absurdly comical to witness had I not been the person needing a moving truck and stressed out by the lack of professionalism and courtesy of someone in a customer service position while having to pay out of pocket for movers' extra time due to business unpreparedness. A disorganized business: customers were left outside waiting in the rain during business hours for at least 15 minutes waiting for employee who claimed she "didn't know anyone was going to be here" even though a confirmation call was answered the night before. Manager claimed she left business for "a moment"--3 separate customers were left outside in a storm waiting during business hours and with reservation for her "moment" while door sign said "open". Claimed calls were made same morning of reservation but received a "busy signal" - in 2015 when do cell phones give busy signals? - This business is dishonest. This business is uncooperative. When knowledge of truck not being available was made, the overwhelmed employee attempted to find a workaround but was met with staunch refusal by her puppeteering manager. Manager refused all requests at troubleshooting matter in courteous fashion and called it "giving her a hard time". Hung up on me when I attempted to inquire about $50 charge on credit card when there was no actual cancellation (they did not have the truck available). I am still confused as to why this manager is so vexed by me, as if my very existence is enough to garner her furor. But judging by other reviews, this seems to be a general experience. My only hope is that her employee has enough resolution to leave that toxic environment and knows there are still good examples of leadership elsewhere in the world. read more

HORRIBLE experience. I booked a truck with 48 hours notice, confirming on the Budget website that they had the exact truck I needed (the reason I picked this location in the first place). The morning of the reservation, I called to let them know I would be coming in a little later to pick up my truck -- they did not answer (this is not unusual, you have to call roughly 20 times to get someone to answer), so I left a voicemail. An hour and a half later, I received a phone call from the woman working who told me that they did not have my truck available. She said they rented that one out on Friday, which made NO sense, because I had reserved mine on the website that confirmed they had it on Saturday. And they were just now calling me - an hour and a half after my reservation time to tell me this. I went immediately to their office, where we were told they only had a 16 ft truck available & it would also cost $30 for insurance. My mom and I were the only ones there & neither of us felt comfortable driving a 16ft truck nor did we feel it was fair to have these extra fees. The lady assured us my card would not be charged if we walked away, due to the circumstances (we had movers coming to help us in less than an hour). Two days later, I receive a $50 charge to my card. I call Budget to get this mistake removed, explaining the situation, and the customer service rep tells me I was charged a $50 cancellation fee, because they offered me a truck and there was nothing he could do about it. I did not understand, and pressed for more information asking him to help me understand this, as we were assured our card would not be charged. He then proceeded to hang up on me. The employees at United Space Storage were also no help at all. When I called to ask about this, the woman on the phone told me that the $50 cancellation fee was there policy and she was sure that no one told me my card would not be charged, because they always follow procedure. DO NOT rent a truck in advance from Budget. I thought their prices were better than U-Haul, so I booked with them, but instead I ended up paying $50 for a whole lot of hassle and frustration and no truck, and another $40 for the U-Haul truck that actually did its job. I do not appreciate the lack of professionalism found both in Budget's customer service line and their retail locations. I will be sure to never use them again. read more

I used Budget Rental truck, and it was for the most part a good experience til the end! Once we returned the truck we discussed the gas, they said to pump til pump shuts off, but did not say that the needle had to be OVER THE "F" MARK, so they then charge $30 to drive across the road to put gas in to push the needle over the F mark. Totally ridiculous! I tried to reason with the woman, but to no avail, I will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN, had they offered to work with me on this I would be much happier! NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL! Wish there was a negative star I could choose. We returned a truck on the weekend when they were closed and left the key in the lockbox. They charged us a $26.75 'cleaning fee' for the interior when we had thoroughly cleaned the inside of the truck ourselves and had only moved a few pieces of furniture in it anyway. We don't live in Gainesville and so didn't have any recourse to dispute the charge. Apparently, we aren't the only ones who have been treated badly by these people. read more

By far the worst customer service I have ever received. The lady that runs the place treated me horribly, lied to me, and is utterly miserable every time I need to rent a truck. She saw me pull in to get a receipt and locked the door and threw up the "gone to lunch sign," so I came back and she locked the door again and wrote a sign that said "management out." I was just trying to pick up my receipt. She refused to let me know who owns the place or have any contact with management. It seriously blew my mind the level of disrespect she has for customers. Retired from the military and needed my house hold goods stored. They helped me out a lot and got what I needed under old management. Under the new management was even a better experienced. Needed a bigger storage which was not available at the time, but they quickly called me when one opened up during my crunch time line for when the movers arrived. They were very nice, helpful, and willing to work with me through the whole process. Also they were the cheapest price for the large units in the area that were decent shape. I would recommend to anyone. read more
