They have a decent variety of women's clothing, jewelry, skin care, books, home decor, essential oils, and knick knacks. The store isn't very large but the variety is good. I tried some testers of the skin care products, which were very high quality and expensive. Dreamy AF. I'd had my eye on Midland before finally checking out a couple weeks back, and I'm happy to report that it did not disappoint. They've got all of the clothes and wares and fancy body care things to make you swooooon swoon swoon. It's spendy and I couldn't shop here all the time, but it's a fabulous spot for special occasions, gifts, and ideas. Really enjoyed chatting with Helen while we were visiting! It seems like Midland has created a really cool community, starting with the folks who work there. The shop is also within walking distance of some fun stuff in Culver City, including Platform and Pasta Sisters, if you want to make a day of it. Products are cool and aesthetic is nice, but I'd rather spend my money on etsy or a similar indie e-comm site, than to come to a store that makes me feel like I shouldn't be there. Fiona has made my Crossroads experience completely amazing. I completely understand if my items are not worth selling, and all it really takes is a quick point to a little stain that might turn future sellers away. I really appreciated the attitude Fiona had when she evaluated my items and her enthusiasm as she pointed out all the awesome things there were in the store. There were some really amazing things to find at amazing prices, and everything was well organized. Agree with the other ladies who felt an unfriendly, possibly racist vibe. I too was treated coldly and suspiciously despite buying a $120 pillow in the end. I, too, hate to think it's racially motivated, but the white clientele were greeted and helped, while I was ignored or followed around like I might steal something. They should not assume that if you're in workout clothes or a person of color that you don't have money to spend on lovely curated items. I've been to this shop three times now and every single time I walk in I don't get a hello or a sign of recognition from the ladies in the store. The first time I walked in, I decided to ignore it even though I was the only person in the shop. I figured she was busy or having a bad day or what not. The second time I was not alone in the shop yet the other customer was asked if she needed any help, was given recommendations based on what she was browsing, etc. the third time, there was a sample sale and there were multiple employees all helping other guests, never once was I approached. I didn't have any questions per se but I get the distinct feeling that I'm not one of the "midland gang" because I'm not dressed the part. I was wearing workout clothes two out of three visits, whilst everyone working and shopping there is wearing nice linen dresses and cute leather purses and so forth. I actually love the style and started following this shop on Instagram for the style inspiration but I have to say the stuck up culture is not up my alley at all. I don't want to say there's any difference in treatment because of color but I do get the sense that being Asian made a difference, which is just wrong and saddening. I won't be back. read more
