He is transparent and ensures the project (whatever it is) moves steadily along. Most recently, Russ helped us swap out two extremely old, ridiculously heavy clawfoot tubs in our house. In one of the bathrooms, he installed a new built in bath and shower. He found a great option with excellent storage space. In another bathroom, he installed a newer clawfoot tub. The project might sound easy but it was not. Our house is very old and has tight spaces - he made sure everything fit exactly as it should, and worked hard to identify the right options that could work with the existing plumbing so that we didn't run above budget. As always, it was a pleasure working with Russ (in the past, he has done other projects for us - he completely redid our backyard and later helped build a separate room for our son). We bought a house that had been sitting vacant for over a year so most of the plants had died and needed to be replaced. In addition, we wanted someone creative to provide ideas to made our grounds look even more beautiful. First, Stephen was personally a joy to work with. He is friendly, punctual, stays in contact every step along the way, extremely knowledgeable and creative. He came up with so many wonderful ideas that we would never have thought of. And he was also knowledgeable enough to inform us of what was practical and not for our property with regard to which types of plants would flourish, which would not, and which would be eaten by the local wildlife! Second, the people that work for Stephen were all hard working, professional, and extremely polite. They were a joy to work with. Third, his prices were perfectly reasonable. Not the lowest (we had some bad experiences with contractors who "low balled" us), but he definitely wasn't the most expensive. His prices were fair and he itemized and documented every expense, so everything was completely transparent. Finally, the completed project is absolutely beautiful. We are enjoying the lovely, peaceful and absolutely gorgeous outdoor environment he created for us. When I'm ready for my next landscaping project I will definitely hire him again.
