Midos is probably my favorite halal cart in the city, I mean look at that combo over rice. Everything was insanely flavorful, the white sauce is to drool over and it's quick, and I take it to the park to enjoy in all its glory.

got a combo plate (lamb & chicken) over rice for $10. portion was generous. it came w fries, some lettuce & tomato, a slice of pickle, a small falafel, & red & white sauces. marinade was flavorful (i'd say it tasted like al pastor, but it's rly the other way around). lamb wasn't lamb-y at all. falafel was good too, you could taste the herbs. (i didn't care for the rice so i'll get a salad plate next time, but that's just me.) went 10:15am on a weekday, no line at all

Heard so much about this halal spot so was excited to check it out! I ordered takeout so can only comment on the food itself - I got the combo over rice. Really enjoyed the lamb, fries and sauces were both great, and I appreciated how they included more fresh ingredients than other carts I've been to (lettuce, tomato, pickles, jalapeño). Might not be my favourite halal spot in the city, but very, very solid and I'll definitely be ordering from here again.

DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS ONE. Tons of food for $9. Thoughtfully prepared, nice service, SO FREAKIN' good! The combo plate comes with a little bit of everything - salad, pickles, jalapeños, fries, meat of choice, rice, white sauce, optional hot sauce... so flavorful and delicious! Two chicken and lamb combo plates and two waters was $20! Can't beat that! There's a bench kitty corner that you can sit and eat at!

How can you complain about a $9 plate?! Comes with a lot of food for being nearby the tourist area. Make sure you pay cash. Man was generous and fed you like your own. Treat a bruttha with respect he will deliver food with respect. Food was flavorful even when I took it home an hour later. There was sooooo much food, the lid could not close! Talk about cheap Chinese takeout levels. We love that. And if you're in 6th ave, def stop by here!

Convenient location, a very generous serving of food. Not much to complain about, and a lot to rave about. Probably one of the few places on this side of town that you can get lamb/chicken and delicious rice for under $10.

Mixed over rice. FIRE. Chicken is so well cooked flavor are awesome. White+red sauce must. Fries are a nice surprise. Salad also works with everything. Awesome. Wish this could be what Halal guys is

I have to say, lived up to the hype. Easily matches up well with the famous Adele's Halal cart by Radio City. Easily the best halal cart in the neighborhood. I have no complaints or no notes. May very well be my new regular spot. One of the few places that still does spicy rice and has actual shawarma. There was no line and I got my food pretty quick. He cooked the meat on the grill and asked me which veggies I wanted in my salad. The latter being a nice touch. I look forward to coming back here.

Great food - no wait. Found this cart from TheHalalGuysGuy on Instagram, and we had this ranked as his top halal cart in the city. Even higher than Adel's! I've really only had halal food from Adel's that's been memorable (not from NYC so not many chances to eat this) I pulled up and there had to have been maybe one person in front of me. Maybe a 10 minute wait since they whipped up a batch of lamb on the grill. However, food was amazing. They have a really nice salad with pickles, jalapeño, and raw onions that I personally think went well with the food. It also comes with a few fries which I thought was a plus don't recall Adel's doing that. The portion was great for $9. The rice was NOT AS SALTY as Adel's which was my biggest complaint. Had flavor for sure with the spices and sauce on it. The lamb though man. Star of the show - so tender and seasoned. Every bite juicy and tasty and those juices would mix with the rice and the sauce sheesh. The red sauce is pretty spicy I don't think it's as spicy as Adel's but it's got a lot of kick still. Love this cart and got 2 plates again to take home on the flight back! No need to wait and this is fresh. The greens are FRESH all green no white lettuce in there or limp lettuce. The meat tender flavorful. This is my cart of choice

Our local friends, who used to be regulars at this halal cart when they lived nearby, introduced us to this spot. After a late night out at bars, the food was exactly what we needed, and it was so good that we returned a few evenings later for dinner following a Broadway show. The combo plates over rice were incredibly delicious. We opted for a less spicy version, but even that was quite spicy for our taste. Nonetheless, the flavors were fantastic, making it a great choice for a satisfying meal.

Possibly the best Cart in NY! Fresh, and delicious is the name of the game here. Top notch,QUALITY food. With the amount of Halal carts from which I have consumed food, I can comfortably say that I'm an expert in this category. From the hype days of 53rd and sixth, to Sammy's, and now Adel's. BUT in my humble opinion, Mido's tops them all. The food is QUALITY! Deliciously spiced chicken and Gyro. Done to perfection. The veggies, fresh and crisp, and the rice! Wow! The most delicious yellow rice I've ever had. EVER! The spicy rice isn't spicy per say, but more of a "spiced" rice. It has just a hint of sweetness to it as well. Cinnamon maybe? It's DELICIOUS! The lamb is softer than the big chewy pieces from the other carts. It melts in your mouth, and the chucken is perftly juicy and delicious. The white sauce is awesome, and the hot sauce, HOT! The fries are the battered kind, perfectly crisp. This cart is So slept on. When I went, there was no line. I ordered and waited about 10 minutes for them to make the food. Loved knowing it was put on the grill fresh. The guys working were so nice, and kind! The service for me, goes a long way. Especially since we drive over an hour from Flushing. Passing many other places just for Mido's food. It's SO worth it in my opinion. The combo over rice is $9, and the pita sandwich is $8. The sandwich was fighting for its life to close lol. We ate the sandwich before we had a chance to take a pic lol. This is the place that deserves the hype of the other carts. Will I be sad waiting in line? Sure. But with what this cart has, I will be back and wait. SO worth the drive for this gem! Keep up the good work guys. PS. PLEASE open up a cart in Queens. Sunnyside, Woodside, Flushing

Solid halal cart! I came on a Wednesday evening after work, and the service was pretty quick - maybe an 8 minute wait to get my food (fast especially when compared to the very famous Adel's). I got the lamb and chicken rice combo for $9, and enjoyed the french fries that were included. I enjoyed the meat and thought everything was very flavorful. Their red sauce is magnitudes LESS spicy than Adel's. I got a normal amount and definitely wish I asked for extra. Given the reduced wait time (especially compared to Adel's) I'd definitely come back again!

The whole fish has a distinctive strong taste that took some getting used to...perhaps a lot of paprika and red pepper, but I'm not really sure...certainly a nice portion size. Staff is very friendly and hospitable. Highly recommended.

The cheese is on the lighter side and the textural combination is nice, sort of like a baklava cheesecake but crispier and lighter. I like heavier cheesecakes though. Drinks: golden negroni was spot on, but didn't like the sangria. They had a medjool cocktail that went off the menu to my disappointment. Appetizers: the octopus carpaccio was the best and I'd order again. The tuna tartare was a little too heavy on the sauce flavor, and the golden beets were unmemorable. The yellowtail was good I think, but didn't stand out either. Mains: the duck borek has more of a sausage like meat texture. I thought it was decent but the meat being duck didn't do much and I've had better boreks in Astoria. It comes with a vegetable side that is a nice offset. I tried a friend's lamb chops and this was really good with the cooked cherries.

Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg.
