We went for the Bottle Toss game on a very busy night (60+ players!). It was by far the most fun I've ever had at a dive bar. The game itself is hilarious and so much fun, but the people in the bar were so wonderful. Everyone was cheering on everybody else, making for a lively and convivial night. Also, the hamburgers are out of this world awesome! And HUGE! There's no better way to spend a Thursday night than playing Bottle Toss with a burger in hand at Midtown! this place is a little rock food worker industry bar. it stays open hella late. it has been the dive bar that every one goes to after work. if you have never had a midtown burger you are missing out. the burger is bomb!!! the draft pitchers are cheap. the tables are fast an old but every one loves it. read more

Even though I feel like I should go get a tetanus shot after going to Mid-Town, I do like the place. Live Music is generally very good. Burgers are hot and great. Drinks are typically Dive Priced. The crowd here is really hard to describe. There will be some Junkies, Bikers, Cowboys, Bankers....you never really know., but there will definitely be some junkies. I think everyone should go here every once in a while just because. If you're looking for a place that stays open until the sun comes up, well your options are Mid-Town, the Cowboy, and Salut. I can't really tell you which one is the best, because I rate them all 5 Stars on the fact that they stay open til 5 a.m., but Mid-Town would definitely be pretty far south of "classy." read more

This bar was by far the highlight of my trip to little rock. I went on Thursday night for bottle toss and oh my god, I had such a great time. The game is described below so I won't explain it, but if you like breaking stuff, you'll love this. The burger was AMAZING. Maybe the best I've ever had. I met some great people - bottle toss makes it so everyone knows your name by the end, and you just don't get that much in New York. And holy cheep beer. When the bartender heard that I was from NY he gave me a sharpie and told me to tag the bar. I loved that. Heads up - you can smoke in here. I liked that though - as a former smoker, I like the smell and think it makes a bar better, but that's just me. People comment on the place being dirty but I've been to way dirtier, the bathroom was pretty clean. If you're going to little rock and happen to be there on a Thursday, you must go here. read more

Eloquent dive bar with a delicious burger and staff! This hole in the wall has offered me many of good nights! When you walk in a sign reads, "Beware of loose women". The smell of stale cigarettes lingers around you, enticing you to the stage where bands play every weekend. This is not your new, hip, or swanky bar. This is where the locals come to play! if you have ever been a dirty little punk rocker, you must go to midtown. not only should you tell nola, the bouncer, that i said hello... but you must also eat a cheeseburger. this dive bar has the best burgers in the state, no joke. plenty of pool tables, full bar, and you will definitely meet somebody worth knowing at this bar. but please beware, nola does not play. she has physically thrown me over her shoulder and carried me out before. and i'm not a small girl. please be respectful, or you will get kicked out. also, they always have great bands, as in gringo starr, playing in the back, and make sure you bring a sharpie to finalize your visit to midtown in the bathroom stall. you will be sure to get some words of wisdom, or even learn that the girl you've been talking to all night has herpes. have fun! read more

Truly, truly, exceptionally dirty. Cover is about $5. Pool tables, late night bands, open til 5-ish. BEST burger. Have often gone as a last stop just for the burger. There's also Spam, Ham & cheese, & egg sandwiches served from the grill. Thursdays are bottle toss. You lose, you're the last one to miss throwing your empty bottle in a trash can 20 ft away after several turns, you buy all players a happy hour beer. Immediately following the game, they place the best ipod mix of all ipod mixes (it includes Sweet Caroline & Delta Dawn). Watch your purse. Watch your back. It's pretty safe, but I wouldn't someone looking for a fight. Characters here can be shady late night. Bring your own toilet paper as required. Also, HAND SANITIZER. If a dive bar is what you are looking for you can stop and go to heaven (or hell more precisely) upon going to midtown. This place is the dirtiest, grimiest, cheapest, sleaziest place I have ever had the fortune of stepping foot in. Decadence and depravity all round. It opens before noon and is open til 5am! What the hell. They have super cheap drinks, with a long island only ringing in at $7.00. All in all some of my most notorious moments have been spent at Midtown. I love this place. read more

Dirty and disgusting...not just the place, many of the people, too. Mark H. is right, the smell lingers for days. When you do laundry days after going to Midtown you will smell it. BUT it is open until 5, so what are you gonna do? It doesn't really get busy until 1 or 2 am when the other bars are starting to close. At that point it fills up with the drunkest of the drunk and the people that didn't already pick someone up at the river market. Then, there are the regulars. The burgers are good. They use Cavender's seasoning and that is what makes them so yummy. If you order a burger at a busy time of night, be sure to look at it closely. They often undercook their meat when they have high volume because their grill is so small (it is also not ventilated well and is responsible for the 'midtown stank' mentioned earlier). Most people there are too drunk to care I guess. Midtown is up there on my list of places to go at 2 am when everything else closes. Face it, Discovery is fine on the weekends, but other than that what else is there? Counterpoint, Elevations, Cowboy, and some other places I'm sure I'm forgetting...I'll take Midtown over those places. read more

Midtown is the end-all catch all of the Little Rock bar scene. The ole saying is everyone ends up at Midtown!! It is a hole-in-the-wall dive bar with tons of character and interesting people in and out all night. If you are looking for the place where the locals go this is it! Most of the bartenders and waitstaff from the other bars in town hit Midtown after they get off work to get their afterhour fix of shots and beer. Sure it smells of a dive bar, but if you are too good to let a little Midtown stank bother you, then don't bother going 'cuz that probably won't be the only thing that gets to you. The burgers are incredible (drunk or sober) and weekends always provide good bands to check out. read more
