We can't say enough to express our appreciation for the excellent service Glenn Coleman owner of MIDTOWN ELECTRIC provided us regarding the selection, purchase and installation of a GENERAC standby generator. It's all too rare these days to find a company that goes to such great lengths to consider our need to address power outages in our area. On his first visit Glenn assessed our needs, provided us with the different options available and the details of what the installation process would entail from start to finish. He answered all our questions and addressed our concerns during this process and provided us a detailed estimate within an hour after leaving our house. We were impressed to say the least. We accepted Glenn's proposal that included the purchase and installation of the generator. Also included along with the electrical work require were the permits, inspection fees and system testing. A separate line item in the proposal addressed the necessary gas line work that needed to be provided and installed. Great news to know that was included and PIPEWORKS PLUMBING would be handling that piece of the project along with permits and testing. Wow!! From start to finish Glenn kept us posted every step of the project. He exceeded our expectation above and beyond. We also want to thank Rodney from PIPEWORKS PLUMBING who handed the gas line installation work. Like Glenn, Rodney was considerate and kept us informed of his project as he went along. Glenn was awesome. He was easy to get in touch with, professional, on time and is very good at what he does. His rate was more than fair and he has great customer service. I had (attempted) adding dimmers on lights with multiple switches (having zero electrical experience and relying on YouTube videos ~ not recommended) and needed Glenn to basically come in and undo the mess I created and make my kitchen lights work again. This was of course a simple job for him, but I was lucky I hadn't messed things up so much that he could not fix my mess. He had it all corrected within 20 minutes and it works perfectly. I will hire him again in the future...and not try to do it myself! He put everything back the way it should be and cleaned up so there was no trace of work done. I'd give Glenn 50 stars if I could! He responded promptly and arrived on time. I had a broken ceiling fan and a couple of other things that needed fixing. However, within minutes of his arrival we both heard a loud noise. It was the upstairs toilet tank cracking wide open. Glenn immediately got water turned off, cleaned the whole mess up and stayed calm the whole time (which I didn't!). I honestly don't know what I would have done if he hadn't been there since I'm recovering from hip surgery and not moving or climbing stairs too fast. He said the fan needed replacing, went to Home Depot and bought the fan, replaced the old one, and did the other jobs (replacing the ballast in garage ceiling light and a switch). I called Glenn on a Friday for an estimate as he came highly recommended from a pro at Home Depot. I expected to not get a return call back with our recent experiences from other contractors. Much to my surprise, Glenn called back promptly Monday morning apologizing for the delay! We scheduled the estimate, he showed up on time and gave a very competitive bid. Due to how busy he was, he asked for a day to take a serious look at his schedule to see when he could realistically fit us in. The next day he advised that he could commit to being out to complete the job in less than two weeks. Glenn was on time, clean, courteous and did an excellent job. After completing the job, he knocked the original quote down due to it not being as complicated as he had anticipated. Made an appointment to see our home and was on time for that appointment. The pricing was very fair and actually extremely competitive. He addressed all our questions. We needed an electrical back up system for both myself and my wife. Glenn at Midtown Electric and his staff are absolutely wonderful. On contact, Glenn responded to my quote request, and gave me a quote for the work very quickly for what I thought I needed, 3-4 can lights and one ceiling fan. On arrival, the day he said he would be there - what a concept, I asked for his opinion on how many can lights should be installed, and why. It ended up being two which, lowered the price and had a much better result. Keep in mind, by being honest, his income was decreased, and yet he was still honest. A rare find these days. Glenn, who is very professional and personable, came to give me a bid on replacing all wiring or repairing outdated outlets (home built in 1962). He recommended that latter as replacing would be too expensive for me, which I truly appreciate his honesty. His tech, Ryan, repaired all my outlets and installed grounded outlets within a couple of days. It was perfect timing to have the outdated 2-prong outlets as one was really fried, unbeknowst to me. One thing I love about the internet is the ability to recognize an honest & hard working individual or company. We are remodeling and on top of the remodel Glenn had to figure out a complicated wiring issue.
