I have never had a bad experience and i am always recommending them to my friends! Nikki and Tony are seriously so nice an never disappoint. So is Trish! I forget some other names but every person does a super good job on nails and pedicures! The weekends do get a little busy but you can always make an appointment or come when they open. If you don't like disappointment please avoid this place. I scheduled an appointment for a full set and pedi. I had even arrived 15 min prior to my scheduled appointment and wasn't helped until 40 min later. Then I sat in the pedi chair for another 30-40 min just to get started on the pedi. The whole pedi felt so rushed and the hot towels they used weren't even hot, they felt lukewarm and humid. The shape and size of the nails from both hands were way off. If you look at my pics below you'll see how they aren't symmetric and very thick. I had picked out a muted light pink color for my full set and pedi and they couldn't even get the colors right. After I compared the nail color from my hands to my feet I showed them to the tech they offered to change the color which I appreciated but the tech was being rude any snappy afterward. That was the last time I am spending my money there. My honest opinion: take your business to Anna's nails on camelback and 10th st. Anna's nails are much friendlier and you'll actually get what you ask for unlike this place. read more

To update, I love this salon! There are times where there are off days but today the ladies went above and beyond giving me the most perfect pink full set! As well as soaking off my previous gel manicure instead of ripping it off like on staff member did previously... I was being taken care of my one of the older ladies off to the left of the store and they made sure I had everything I needed from design to color. I came in with a set of crutches as I just recently had surgery and they made sure my crutches were in a safe place the entire time and that I had to move as little as possible. My only critique is that the past few times when I had an appointment with my MIL, we've been seated separately. It kind of sucks since we've usually been sat on opposite sides not even a few seats apart. But if there was a way to keep us together so we could chat that would be 10/10 but I do understand that everyone has their station and it'd be hard to move! I'm so glad I came to Midtown Nails! This is my second time getting my nails done since March when lockdown began, and I wish I'd gone to Midtown the first time. Unlike the first place I went, Midtown was obviously taking precautions for corona virus. There are plastic dividers separating the nail techs and the customers and all touch surfaces were wiped down in between clients. The only thing I didn't love was how close I was seated next to other customers. I haven't sat that close to a stranger in a long time! Thankfully, everyone was wearing a mask correctly so I felt much safer. This salon is incredibly clean and bright, with very comfortable chairs. I had SNS on my hands when I came in and my technician took the time to take them off correctly and did not damage my nails. My nail tech was very kind and detail-oriented, I love how the shape of my nails turned out! I highly recommend this place, great staff, welcoming environment, and very well priced. Got a groupon here. Manager Jimmy is great, but it stops there unfortunately. He worked hard to get my mom and I in this morning and was really nice. My tech for SNS did well, but was rushed as her 11am client came in, so I was left with powder all over my hands and under my nails, no lotion or cuticle oil. I then asked for a basic pedicure. Yen asked initially if o wanted the "midtown" which is upgraded. I said "no basic", he asked again, I said "no, just a cleanup. The basic." Then he applied the sugar scrub anyways and charged me $34 for the upgraded pedicure. Jimmy didn't make me pay for this but it was annoying to say the least. Finally, my mom mentioned to her tech that she had an ingrown toenail, so she wanted it to be left alone. The tech used cuticle nippers to cut the skin on the toe without warning and caused my moms toe to bleed. Overall, Jimmy has the right attitude, they have great products (OPI, Dazzle Dry, PCA skin), but the technicians have no idea what they're doing, I didn't see anyone using their barbicide for tools either. I like supporting businesses with great management, but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon unfortunately. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 5:45, but was seated at the station and waiting for over 15 minutes. When I asked to look at colors, a woman who worked there rudely said "NoNo, sit down and you wait 5 minutes." Then, when the technician finally started, he would have to stop every 10 minutes to check other customers out. The entire process to do a removal and full set of SNS nails took almost 2 hours! I asked for coffin shaped nails and he cut one thumb shorter than the other and they were uneven. When I asked to even them out, he had to shorten one to make them even. Now they both are shorter than the rest of my nails. The technician also didn't shape the nail into a coffin shape until the dipping of the powder was done. This took the color away from the sides of the nail. Lastly, I asked for a matte coat and he did a very poor job on that. One nail was beginning to peel as I walked out and when I mentioned it he said "that's just the cuticle oil I put on. It'll be fine once you wash your hands." Needless to say, it wasn't fine and now I have numerous nails that the matte coat is peeling off of. And the sad part about it all is this cost me $50 PLUS tip! While I was getting my nails done, a woman came in to have her nails redone from a poor job that she had earlier that day, as well. Another red flag.I would definitely not recommend this place. I wanted to love this salon since I live close by but the last 2 visits SUCKED! When I came to get a fill, the nail tech man did not make my nails the same size he just changed the color and left my nails as is! Today I had an appointment for a pedicure but they didn't even have me down!!! After waiting for 15min they sit me with 3 other people and just left me sitting for 30min before anyone filled my tub w water or even talked to me or ask me what I wanted! Terrible service! This salon is right around the corner from my house & I booked a pedicure for the first time. The positives: 1. new and sparkling clean location 2. as a new biz, they can continue to improve 3. they give a 15% discount to new customers The negatives: 1. pedicure stations have nowhere to hang your purse or put your things 2. they use organic products but the cream they used on my feet was drying/not emollient 2. my nail tech did not paint toenails to very inner edges where skin is, so when nails grew, the nail showed quickly I will go back & give them a second go-round, as they are still probably getting in the groove. read more

Adrian is amazing. I came in and got a dip manicure and regular pedicure. I wanted a design, but wasn't sure what. He suggested sweater nails and literally killed it. He is a bit of a perfectionist so he took his time, but I appreciated the care he put into doing my nails. This nail salon was the worst experience I have ever had. I asked for a nail removal and then a full set because my nails were old. The technician kept asking if I wanted a fill after I had told her three times to remove them. Then as she was removing them she began to rip them off using a fake nail. After getting 8 of the 10 nails off she decided she could put a fake nail on top of the acrylic nail that was still left in two of my fingers. Then I told her no, she said no it's okay, and then I had to tell her no again and to remove the left over. At this point she began to show poor customer service. She files my nails, but as she was filing she filed one paper thin. Then the manager has the nerve to tell me that filing paper thin is normal. Not only are my nails ruined but now I can't even have my natural nails because they need to be protected since they've been filed to oblivion. After I told her just to do removal since she ruined my nails they continued to offer other services. But then the manager told the technician to trim and buff. As she was buffing my nails she decided to have attitude and scrape my hand with the buffer, not once but twice. This is not okay. I will never go here again. This salon is an embarrassment to other nail salons. I recommend luxe nail bar if you're looking for good service and beautiful nails. read more

I like this location because it's close but every time I come I find out about up charges after. I got sns today and it looks awful. There is residual color all over my nails because they didn't do any cuticle. I'm told after that it is an up charge. This should have been offered since I clearly needed this service. They didn't clean nails before and nothing with cuticles. I've told a bunch of friends what happened and all were shocked. I'm going to be spending $100 to get out of here only to have sloppy looking nails. Such a bummer. Update: 1st: when I mentioned how sloppy the area around my nails were it was blamed on me for having short nails. This makes little to no sense. The problematic area was at the cuticle. 2nd: when I asked about cuticles and why the nail wasn't cleaned etc I was asked if I've never had sns. Not only is this a ridiculous statement but I've had it done at this location and by the owner who said it to me. 3rd: the man who did my nails mangled my fat toe. It's so swollen and painful. I started going to this location because they could work on my ingrown toenail. This person could not and chose not to ask for help. He just ripped at skin rather than the actual ingrown nail. It's red, puffy, and so angry. I don't treat myself often and this was a pretty bad experience. read more

I have been here probably 5 or 6 times now. I would have left it at a solid 4 stars but for the recent visit... Made an appointment for a gel acrylic set and pedicure. Waited 15 minutes before they had time. They had the space in the pedicure area, just understaffed. Manicure area was slammed. I hoped it would thin. Pedicure was good - they always are here. I always pay for the upgraded euro pedi. I had been waiting quite awhile for and this was my first one given Covid. So far so good, clean, all new equipment out of the package, station cleaned, woman doing the pedicure was very good, etc. I was hoping they would start the manicure the way they have in the past while I was getting a pedicure but no one checked in with me at all. When I was done, they thought I was completely done and did not even seem to remember that I was getting my nails done. Then they sat me in a chair and seem to have no one ready to work on my nails. The nail area was a totally different story from the pedicure area in the back. I sat there for about an hour and a half so I would know, and not once did I see anyone clean or wipe anything down. They did have the plexiglass shields up between you and the nail technicians, but that does not make up for not cleaning the areas. The areas on the nail tech side and the client side were not cleaned at all. The chairs were dirty, they were nail clippings around. By the time they finally move me to a different chair it was about another 10 minutes... almost left at this point but really wanted to get my nails done because I had done a long time and at this point I just need to get it over with. The nail tech was rushed. I have had acrylics MANY times over the years because I'm a nail biter so it's my only real option... she didn't do half of what needs to be done. She didn't even bother to clean the glue out of the back of them at the end or give a quick hand massage with the lotion sitting there or wipe off the oil. She did ask how the looked and I said "fine." They looked fine, but she did a poor job with cuticles, etc. The tools were also not clean/out of the package the way the pedicure tools were so at this point I did not want to ask her to dig deep into my nails or do anything the way that other technicians always have I just wanted it over with and she clearly didn't care. I had to figure I will eventually be having to get a fill on these elsewhere soon. Perhaps the most extremely troubling thing was that they have signs on the door saying no additional people/guests will be allowed in the waiting room giving concerns over social distancing and Covid. They are clearly not following it. The entire place was packed. Tons of people hanging out waiting for other people. But the truly troubling thing is that they could care less about social distancing. Other places have been adhering to the every other chair method and spacing people out. Here, I was closer to other people than I have been probably since March. I texted my husband at one point that I was extremely uncomfortable and considered leaving. I was almost shoulder to shoulder with the people next to me. They clearly care more about getting people in and out of the chairs and making a profit than they do about being safe, cleaning the nail technician spaces, and socially distancing people. If they really cared, they would do every other chair, they would be wiping down the counter space, they would be using new tools, they would be following protocols that they should be following. I'm giving two stars because the pedicure was good and I felt like it follow those protocols. But the manicure situation was ridiculous, they clearly showed their true colors and don't care at all about anything other than profit. Oh, we had asked for my husband to get a men's manicure while he was there. They did it completely half assed job. I could have done better myself at home. So I'm not really sure why we paid for it. They literally did almost nothing. Sadly, I won't be going back to Midtown. It pains me to say this since this place is close to my house in Phoenix, it is pretty new, I like the set up, and I had some good experiences here in the past. But this situation is too far and too much for me to look past. Especially when it comes to safety of clientele and the client service perspective. They clearly could have cared less about us in terms of how they treated us while we were there. I'm looking at the nails later, it is as expected, a poor job. I hope they are paying these people who are working there at least something decent for risking their safety. It's not worth it for clients to continue going there and risking theirs. read more

When I come here I usually make an appointment with Donna who is amazing btw however she wasn't there that day but I needed my nails done really bad. I thought I could trust going to someone else lol WRONG! Worst experience I ever had at a nail. The nail tech rushed the whole time, as you can see these nails were so thick and even worse the paint was layered and uneven making it look clumpy. The man who worked at the front had the audacity to charge me $60!! I showed him my nails and I said if you were a customer would you pay $60 for these!? He just kept saying we can fix it I told him at this point I don't trust these can be fixed and I've already been there over and hour just getting a full set and he wanted me to wait another 30-45 minutes for someone to fix it. I told him I'll give him $20 and he kept arguing with me wanting me to pay full price. He said if I don't want to wait then they will take them off so they just them all off and I left. I am so disappointed and upset I come to this place faithfully every 2 weeks and spend over $100 each time and to be treated like this I will NEVER COME BACK! If the owner Kayla or Donna was there Im sure this wouldn't have happened or been rectified immediately this was just a really bad experience all this place seems to care about is money they want every dime even when clearly the work doesn't meet the price they do not put the customer first and thats why you lost a loyal customer forever read more

I have been here several times, recommended by a close friend. I am writing this review because after my recent pedicure, the nail on my big toe has split. The woman who did my toes grinded off way too much when removing the old gel polish. My nails are paper thin now. Not only that, but she filed super far from the nail edge and weakened the whole nail. As a result, the gel and my nails, have chipped and broken shortly after my visit. I had to clip my own nails after my visit to make them somewhat presentable. I have received good work here before but the quality has gone down severely. On top of having my nails damaged, I have made multiple appointments through Nikki and was told they didn't exist when I arrived. I forgave that but destroying my nails is too much. I just got the WORST manicure of my life. As my nail tech was using the drill to take off my gel polish, she filed my actual nail surface all the way down!! She drilled a HOLE in my pinky nail bed, right above the cuticle, completely through to the skin behind it. This hole HURTS and BURNS. I now have to deal with the concern of getting an infection while this wound grows out over the next few months. 3 of my other nails are now the thickness of tissue paper because she drilled them down SO thin. When I told her that she drilled completely through my nail to the root behind and that I was in pain, all I got was an "oh, sorry." Do NOT get a gel manicure removed here. The actual polish job is bad and uneven and certainly not worth $26. read more
