Horrible service, very dirty booth and utensils. We went in and I wanted to order 10 wings as an appetizer. I wanted half buffalo and half garlic parm because my wife and I like different flavors. They were $9.45 for 10 wings so it is not like they were a daily special and they place was not busy as it was the end of lunch . The server would not split the order. I asked why and she said it would back up the kitchen. How hard is it to dip 5 fried wings in 1 sauce and 5 in the other. I even offered to pay a little more if it mattered. Funny thing is the menu offered to double dip in your favorite sauce for .75 more. She said no but she would ask the manager. After about five minutes she came back and said the mgr said no. By this point we were going to leave so I asked her to go get him. He came over and smelled horribly of cigarette smoke (I later found out he was the owner.) He said that he has been open 20 years and never has allowed 2 sauces. I explained that I was not sure what made me more upset, that she had to go ask for such a simple customer request or that he said no and did not come over and explain himself. I explained that it was too bad we would never be back because the food there is ok. He said he did not care so I asked for the check for our 2 sodas and my kids lemonade and about 5 minutes later it came and we left after paying the $4.25. No one ever seemed to care that a customer was leaving. Neither he nor the server made any attempt to make us happy or show they cared about the customer. We left and went across the highway to The Sports Page and had a great lunch. Funny thing is they had wings for $3 less and said they would split up any order any way we would like. I told them what happened and that's when a former employee of Midtown told us the guy I described was the owner not just the mgr and the reason she left was because of the way he treats employees and customers. For nearly 7 months, My fiancé and I went to Midtown every Tuesday night. The main reason we were there was because of the most awesome bartender named Tiffany! When she took care of us, everything was always perfect. However, most recently the food quality deteriorated significantly coinciding with the hiring of a new manager named Matteo. The first bad experience came with our orders coming out at totally different times being incorrect and more fatty than usual. When we asked to speak to a manager, he simply said sorry about the mix up. We have a new wing distributor and that was it. At no point was an offer made to redo the order or compensate in anyway for the inconvenience. We felt as though this was an isolated incident and continued our faithful patronage on Tuesdays. Two weeks later, again with Matteo being the manager, our food was once again done incorrectly. We had ordered the midtown chips that were brought out plain (simply a basket of chips). We sent them back and instead of getting a fresh order with the cheese and bacon on them, they simply sprinkled a little big of cheese on them, microwaved them, and sent them back out. After expressing our dissatisfaction to Matteo, all he could say was we were busy. We then expressed our dissatisfaction to Ken, one of the owners, who was too busy eating his wings to listen to the issue at hand. When I explained, I didn't feel as though he appreciated our business. His response was I'm sorry you feel that way. Have a good night. We've gone here off and on over the past several years, but it's been probably a year since we last visited. We usually would go before for the wings, but decided to try something different this time. The good: The cheese pasta was really good, and the chicken sandwich. Sweet potato fries were cooked perfect. We got the spinach crab dip for an appetizer. The not so good: We could tell it wasn't real crab and the middle was very cold... just the edges were warm. Also not a fan when restaurants charge you 77 cent extra when you ask for a dip, like honey mustard or ranch. The waitress was super nice, and apologetic when the check also arrived incorrect. I have eaten at this location multiple times and enjoy the food. The problem is the service, I spent 2 1/2 hours at the restaurant today. Didn't take long to be seated and we were waited on 10 minutes after sitting down by a lady named Shannon. Shannon took our orders and walked away. A hour later the bus boy and another server bring our food out missing 2 of our party's members orders. Shannon gave the rest of our orders to the kitchen and forgot the 2 orders. The servers who delivered our food, did not tell Shannon about the missing plates either. Manager was no where to be found so we ask another server to tell Shannon we need her. 10 minutes later she shows up to help us the second time in 1 1/2hrs. To which she puts the 2 orders in and proceeds to bring us drinks with no ice. Corrected 10 minutes later with a pitcher of ice. We got ahold of the manager who listened to our situation and walked away. No compensation was done by the management for our terrible evening. We spoke with another employee about Shannon and was told she said that, "I want to shove this (ice pitcher) down their throat." This will definitely be the last time at midtown. Terrible service and being threaded by Shannon. Midtown please correct your service immediately. read more

The atmosphere is your everyday bar and grill type of atmosphere - always had good service and the bar area is nice. Overall the food is okay - IMO, the star of the menu is the she-crab soup and the chicken melt sandwich - the sandwich is excellent! Here goes - tried to post a review a few days ago - it was up one day & gone the next. Had our first visit to Midtown Sundries few months ago - had a great waitress, Kristen. She was very attentive and helpful - suggesting items on the menu - very knowledgeable - keep a check on us throughout the meal. Service was fast and food was piping hot when served - we like to eat early around 5 pm - everything was perfect. Since then we have eaten there about once a week and always ask for Kristen. My favs are the Veggie Burger (the best I have had in this area) and the Grilled Chicken Taco Salad. My husband loves the Reuben and the BBQ Pork Sandwich - both are very good. We both love Fajita Night - they are very fresh and portions are great. The decor and atmosphere is your typical Sports Bar - which is OK - we like the atmosphere - it's more casual and not so "stuffy". The nightly specials are very good as well. We will continue to patronize Midtown Sundries as long as the quality stays like it is. Kudos to Kristen - she's great!!!! read more

We went by McDonalds and picked him up some chicken nuggets and as soon as we tried to be seated the manager stopped us and refused us service. we enjoy dining at Midtown. We go here at least once a week. Sometimes the service is slow, but we've found that to be the exception rather than the rule. I love the cheese steak sandwich and when it is hot and steaming there isn't a better sandwich made. We were there this past Saturday evening however and it was cold. The fries were cold as well. The place was very busy, but that's no excuse for cold food. It won't stop me from returning as I love the sandwich and the barbelo double grilled wings too much. I only hope they can work on whatever the problem was on Saturday night. read more

Went to Midtown today with my grandson.. He ordered Chocolate milk mac and cheese and applesauce.. I ordered a hamburger fries and water.. When my grandson chocolate milk came, the PLASTIC glass was chipped majorly in three places. I asked for a new one.. I was asked"do you want us to pour this in another cup. I said no I want a new drink, in case the piece is at the bottom. Then he went to eat his mac and cheese, about halfway threw he showed me what looked like a green booger on the mac.. YUCK by then I was so sick of my hamburger because it was so dry and the French fries were not cooked. read more

I ate here on Monday with my family and will not be returning. It took us over 30 minutes to receive our food, despite the fact that it was not a peak time and the place was almost empty. The food was not terrible for the most part, but nothing to rave about either. The reason that I am giving one star and will not be returning is the fact that my brother ordered the Mahi Mahi entree, and the fish tasted old and had that "bad fish" essence. When we told the waitress, she took the plate back to the manager, and she returned and told us that all of the fish in the kitchen was "in date". The entree cost $14 (which is too expensive for what is served, even if the fish hasn't gone bad) and they only took $2 off of the bill. So, we paid $12 for a couple of bites of bad fish. Usually when we come here to eat it is great. Not tonight. We are setting at the bar. When we finally get waited on and got our drink orders my was undrinkable. My mix drink is suppose to be sweet, it was as tart as a bowl of lemons. The bartender never checked on us as I ate my food with nothing to drink. When it was time to pay the bill my husband ask for a glass of tea for me. I ask her how did she make my drink that it did not tastes right it was tart sour. She told me she had been making them for a long time and she made it right. I sorry but if a customer has a full drink in front of them at the end of a meal and the bartender will not take it off the bill, that is wrong. My be my last trip there. read more

I met family here for dinner last night and although they were very busy, we had a fantastic experience! The food was good, but the service is the reason for my review! Our waitress was Christina, she was phenomenal! She was very attentive and patient, as we had several kids in our party. The manager on duty was Krystal and y'all, she was amazing! She was all over that restaurant! She was greeting guest, cleaning tables, running food, etc... Although she was very busy, she took the time to stop by our table and talk with the kids and even wrote nice messages to each one on their drink cups! Christina and Krystal made our visit a 5 star experience! I hope that these ladies get the recognition deserved from their boss! The work culture is learned through the examples and standards set by your leaders...Krystal was definitely leading by example and I absolutely believe that's why our service and our meal was outstanding!
