I raised my glass and shouted, "Hear! Hear! To motorcycles, chicken, and beer!" I'm not at Iron Thunder often (maybe twice per month) so everyone looked over at me like I was nuts. I thought to myself: 'shit' and called the bartender over (Alexis--excellent at remembering every detail of a food order and light vibe yet professional service). She walked over. I said, "I have to tell you something and it's really important. But I can't say it too loud." Alexis: "Okay." I raised my glass and shouted, "Hear! Hear! To motorcycles, chicken, and beer!" Okay, that didn't really happen. I actually came in because my phone was dying and wanted to see if they had a charger. They did indeed have a highly effective port on that little trivia screen thing at the bar, and they have a few of them. So, this is an odd yet valuable tip. IT is right off the highway. If you're traveling on I-77 and need a charger, this is the spot! It has a lot of juice too. The chicken sandwich (enormous) also has some juice and was better than expected, and the fries are probably the best sports bar fries in the area. For atmosphere, a ton of space with a bar, couches, a pool table, video games, outdoor seating, and a fire pit. As for the Iron Thunder brand and the clientele it pulls, this one is way more chill than the others. If you ever see drama, it should be minor. For drinkers, they have deals every day, mostly on beer. The reason for the 4 opposed to the 5 is twofold. One, the urinal set up is bizarre (no barrier and you urinate on stage if someone enters bathroom.) Two, just an overall vibe that something could be done to make it a little nicer. You have to be there to understand. For the record, I mind my own business and just chill and drink my beer when here. It's just a quick spot for me to unwind if I pop in. Overall, recommended. But understand the vibe. It's a biker theme (very few bikers though). read more

Home of the Double Entendre. I'll give credit to whoever wrote the menu description and item names. They do have a pleasant sense of humor as you will see from the double entendres scattered throughout the menu. We arrived shortly after 11:00 today. Had been on my hit list for a couple of months now. Last time I was in this restaurant, it was Brazilian and not very good Brazilian at that. That was two years ago and the sign for the old restaurant is still on I-77 which makes it confusion to find this place. If you want to find it, follow the signs for the Chick-fil-A drive through and the Comfort Inn and they will get you here. Arrived a little after the opened at 11:00 am on a Sunday Morning. They were still setting up but the seated us anyway and gave us our menu's and took our drink orders and they were ready to go in a few minutes. Reason it took so long was the the big screen TV's. They used to have a system where they could turn them on all at once but changed and it was compounded that they a Pay Per View event the night before so all sets were tuned to one Pay Per View Station. They appear to have over 60 sets so I can see where it would take awhile. In any case, we were in no rush. I ordered Sweet Tea which came out a bit too sweet. My wife ordered Coffee and they don't have Coffee so she stayed with water. My wife ordered the Meatloaf Sandwich with Mac and Cheese side. She is still raving about the Mac and Cheese and wants to go back if only for the Mac and Cheese. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which bills itself as the Biggest Breast in Mooresville ( double entendre) and it was. Two hugh Chicken Breasts in Buffalo Sauce with lettuce and tomato within one bun and a side of french fries. There is no way, one person with even a very good appetite can eat one of those things in one sitting. I at at lunch and was sated, took home the rest for dinner and was stuffed. The entree covers a plate to overflowing. One thing though for lovers of heat. They have three sauces, mild, medium and hot. The hot is a mild at most place. Still a bit of heat but if you're expecting a habenero sensation, you're not going to get it even with the hot. Service again was great and the food was excellent. Would recommend to anyone in the area or passing though although even though it backs up to I-77, it not in a obvious place. read more

I was very disappointed in our night out. We wanted to try something new and it sounded fun and like the food would be good but it was meh. This is a bar in an identity crisis with stone arches, tread plate walls, race cars, motor cycles and TVs everywhere. It is definitely a bar for 40+ year men to watch the news, golf, and college wrestling. I was with my husband and were not acknowledged when we walked in and were standing a while to be seated. It was a little busy so we were fine with that. We were greeted however by a very drunk older gentleman when he nearly fell out his chair in the entry way. They are not very interested in helping female customers. Our waitress seemed like she could be nice, but didn't want to try since she couldn't get a larger tip for flirting with me as should could with an all guys table. I still left a decent tip as I have been a waitress before and it can be hard, but I would have tipped more if she gave us better service. We went on Friday night for there $5 martinis - they were warm and took a while for the waitress to bring over. Other than being warm it tasted like it should which was a plus and the beer was cold. We choose this place because I really wanted a Ruben, but this did not hit the spot. The bread was soggy from the butter in a failed attempt to toast get toasted. the "pastrami" had to have been from the Walmart deli and I don't mean the carved meat section. I'm talking the over processed, questionable juices kind of meat that is maybe .20/# and it wasn't even warm. Just taken straight from the package and slapped on there to get it out of the kitchen. My husband got the burger and it was all grease. With each bite there was a stream of grease flowing down on the table and neither of our fries (which also had to been a frozen bag from Walmart) were salted. Both our orders were bland and lacking flavor. If we had a choice to go back in time we would stay home and had leftovers. read more

Was worried after reading the initial reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Arrived around 8:00 PM on a Wednesday night. Sat at the bar and asked about local beers. Chasitie provided me all of the details and allowed me to try some tasters before I ordered my final beers. She also provided me a recommendation concerning their signature wings and I decided on the Hog Sampler. Food was delivered very quickly and tasted great. Chasitie ensured my beverage never got empty and provided me with a great dinner. She accomplished all of this while providing for at least 10 other patrons at the bar. The food here is great. The servers are very nice and friendly. And I am not just saying that because they wear hardly anything. In fact, if they didn't use the sales gimmick of half naked women serving food, this would still be the best restaurant in Mooresville NC. The reason I have to give such a low score is because of the Karaoke nights on Friday night. It's not the singing customers. It's the fact that the music is blasting so loud that it is unsafe. The place is not even that large of a building. It is louder than a KISS concert, and Guns & Roses concert I went to years ago. And that was at a large auditorium. If their DJ has some common sense, and played the music loud, but at a safe level, then they would get a really good score from me. But the level of the music exceeds loud, and goes to the level of stupid. And I used to be a DJ. There are levels that the music should never exceed based on the size of the area it is playing in. I'm not sure what this place is trying to be - a dive bar, a biker bar, a sports bar or a Hooter's clone, but whatever it is trying to be it is not a place I would visit again. It wasn't crowded (although most people were either at the inside bar or the outside bar). They had a lot of TVs, some showing the same channel to the others next to it instead of something different. The waitress (which all had other duties than waitressing) wore tight shorts with black biker chaps. They all seemed tired. The food although plenty, was mediocre at best. The second time I came will be my LAST, they have over served one of their patrons to the point that he was vomiting in his seat next to our table into his hands, all over himself and the floor.
