Another mid-tier "tavern" experience. Food is generally warm and flavorless. The "zesty ranch" wings were a lukewarm abomination. Celery we were given with them was old, like severely pliable old. Ravioli was good (side note why tf is everyone adding asparagus where it doesnt belong?) Burger was the same flavor as the bun. Unseasoned, wet, and just not enjoyable. Onion rings were beef-jerky tough and the fries were burnt in old oil. Waitress was cold, only seemed to address my partner for whatever reason (maybe it was because I'm a guy but who the hell knows). The waitrress was friendly and patient with my table of four. It had been years since I had been here. I really do enjoy the earthy and dark ambience. It seems to be a place geared toward the college crowd. We didn't have to wait long to be seated. Our waitress did a decent job of meeting our needs. Her approach wasn't quite polished though so I think she was just fairly new to the task. Just the little things like not introducing herself and having to be asked for To Go boxes and water refills could be improved upon. My daughter and I went here to celebrate Father's Day. We started with a spinach and artichoke dip appetizer which was delicious and had big chunks of artichoke. Then we both ordered pizzas which were really good. We could only eat a few slices and had to have boxes for the rest. I recommend this place though. It's a nice casual spot with a good beer selection and great pizza. read more

Brickhouse Tavern has been one of my regular spots for the last three years. It's less than a mile from my house, and I probably eat here at least once a week. That kind of frequency tells you everything you need to know. They updated the menu a few months ago, and somehow the food got even better. The burgers are outstanding and easily one of the top three burgers in Davidson. I've worked my way through a good portion of the menu over the years, and I still haven't found anything that I wouldn't order again. The food is consistently solid, the staff does a great job, and it's hands down the best bar in Davidson. Whether you're stopping in for a burger, dinner, or just a drink, Brickhouse Tavern is tough to beat. read more

This space is really large so it's usually good for a crowd, and little wait time. I love bringing family here because a lot of them are picky and the menu is diverse bar food. My go to is the quesadilla made with their pizza dough. It's stretched thin so it isn't like a calzone, and I ask them to toss the chicken in buffalo sauce. It's delicious! They serve coke products which is my preferred soda, and the beer list is great. Our server this time around took care of our large 8 person party with ease. Shoutout Brickhouse for accommodating 25 people on a 15 minute notice and only splitting us three ways. We came here on a Saturday afternoon mid afternoon. Service was really efficient and quick. We really liked this place and thought it would become our new spot but unfortunately I think they have a cockroach problem and I'm kinda grossed out now after 2 came across our table. We then tried to come back a second time, thinking it's fine - it's NC - nbd - but we legit had like 20 cockroaches welcome us at the steps and that was enough for me to turn back to the car. We were there on a weeknight after 6pm. No waiting. Not crowded and it never got too busy the hour or so we were there. Service was outstanding. Our server was professional, and knew the menu well. She checked on us regularly and let us know she was available but was never intrusive. Food was overall very good. The fried flounder came with fries but you can also sub another side if you want. The bowl of chili (appetizer) was a big enough portion to act as an entree. It didn't taste like chili that I make at home but it was still very good with just the right amount of spice. I'd definitely order that again. And the chips and dip appetizer was a big enough portion to share - although I didn't! The chips looked and tasted like they were just fried. Came with some guacamole and pico de gallo (which could've been just a little bit spicier). The meatloaf and smashed potatoes entree was also delicious. All portions were generous and some of the meatloaf entree made it home for leftovers. My husband really loved that they have Guinness on tap. That alone is worth 5* to him as he's had a hard time finding good Guinness on tap and this place is just 10 mins down the road from us. We were told that this location used to be an old cotton mill. It's in a nice location just a few steps away from the busy Main Street in Davidson. Parking lot is large but it does fill up on the busy weekends. I love the modern tavern vibe on the inside. Menu prices are pretty typical for the area. We'll definitely return. read more

Had lunch at Brickhouse Tavern today. I would have to say the service and food was excellent. My only comment is about the price of a glass of unsweetened tea. I always order a glass and having been in the business I know the product cost is only a couple cents. At $4 I was convinced it was time to order water. Funny so did everyone at my table. Tania was amazing! She went above and beyond. We ordered two different pizzas, the blackened chicken, a philly and fries and mashed potatoes. The pizza crust was good, the sauce left something to be desired, it was too plain. The philly was really good and the fries were fantastic, crispy with a light dusting of seasoning. The blackened chicken had a little kick to it and was not too dry. The mashed potatoes....I'm not sure what was going on with those but we were NOT a fan. None of us ate them. We dined tonight for the first time in years. Someone on Facebook mentioned they had the best macaroni and cheese, so I wanted to try that. We were greeted kindly by the hostesses and seated promptly. Our waitress was kind and efficient, and the service was fantastic throughout the night. I thought the prices were very reasonable, as well. We started with the fried pickles, which were fried perfectly crispy, but lightly. They weren't too greasy at all. They were served with this jalapeno ranch dressing that was good, but we preferred the plain ranch dressing. I had a salad with blackened salmon. The dressing was a tasty ginger vinaigrette, but the whole dish needed seasoning. I would get it again, however. The macaroni and cheese was the biggest disappointment of the night for me. The noodles were very overcooked and the sauce was gluey. I ate a few bites but that's all I could stand. I wouldn't get that again. My son had the Sirloin Dip and had no complaints. Based on the lackluster food we had, I was ready to give this restaurant a 3 to 3.5, but the service and the prices made me realize that a 4.0 was earned. We will return. read more

Every time we come to Brickhouse it is great and food is awesome! I have no complaints, but they have changed their menu and added new things in. PLEASE bring back the buffalo shrimp appetizer!! They have also changed their way of cooking the spaghetti and meatballs, super dry meatballs and super thick noodles, will not order again. I'm not sure what's going on with the menu, but please bring back the original food menu! read more

We have visited this restaurant weekly for the past few months and have never been disappointed by the food, drinks, or service. Brickhouse Tavern is a comfortable casual restaurant with two options in seating areas, the bar and dining room. Both are great, but we always choose a booth on the bar side. We have tried a lot of different items on the menu. Would recommend their brick oven pizza which I think is the best in Davidson. (That crust!!). Some of our other favorite menu items are the spicy shrimp tacos, salmon, chicken wings, cobb salad, and caesar salad. The service is always friendly and efficient. We seem to get Murph as our server most times by the luck-of-the-draw and she is awesome! read more

I randomly decided to stop by this place since i was on this side of town for a yelp event and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and was sat immediately. It took a little while for our server to come but it looked like they just finished with a fairly large party. So other staff took our drinks and made sure we were ok. Our actual waiter was very nice and knowledgable. We got the buffalo shrimp and it was very good! And i absolutly loved my wings. I also tried their beer it was a red ale and it was good i wasnt expecting to be that good since it was only 2$ lol. So i was pleasantly surprised. Used to be great. New management and new menu. Not so great anymore. Service is slow, orders come out wrong, dishes that used to be customizable are no longer. Apple Pay is no longer accepted. Items on the old menu that made it to the new menu have been defiled entirely. Very sad in the broader context of Davidson's gradual degradation. :( read more

Man, I use to love the Brickhouse. The salmon is so good and the chicken parmesan. Just learned when we were there that they don't do the rolls anymore, the waiter said since everyone was going gluten free they quit doing bread. The main icky thing was the tables - they were SO sticky. I asked if it was cleaned and the waiter was saying the varnish is worn off and they are always sticky. That was the real turn off. read more

I've had brickhouse numerous times in last 9 years I've lived in Cornelius, and this pie is just outrageous. 12 pepperonis on the whole pie. 12 quarter sized pieces of meat. 1 slice was over lapping another, so the slice that was being covered had no toppings and was soggy. Overlapping white onion. All the green peppers are on 2-3 slices. Is there no quality check? How was this approved? Have we hired so many dumb teenagers that it doesn't matter? Such a joke. Pictured is the brickhouse special I received this evening, and the last picture is the SAME pizza I had 8 months ago (over 15 pepperonis on half the pizza). Looks at the amount of unused real estate, so much crust. How the mighty have fallen. Shame. Great ranch tho. There's been so many times in the decade that I've lived here that made me want to create an account, but this takes the cake. So disappointed. read more

I used to work a couple of blocks away and frequented this restaurant when I had a taste for a chicken Parmesan sandwich. It's one of the best I've had, and it keeps me coming back, even now. I've dined in a few times, with coworkers and with family and those experiences were great as well. Pizza is made fresh and I'll have to give it a try one day. I usually order takeout, and if you do that, you can head right to the bar to pay and pick up. Try the sandwich if you go, you will NOT be disappointed! read more

I got a burger that would have been great but the fries were cold and the brioche bun was a day old. I can't believe I haven't written a review sooner with how often I find myself dining in, taking out, or popping in for a quick beer. Love the environment and incredibly consistent great service. I have ordered probably 60% of the items on the menu. That's a tough job when you love each thing you've ordered and would order it again. Some of my favs - chicken quesadilla, meatloaf, and of course the pizza...amazing. Still working my way through trying more of the menu too. The service here has gone down significantly. We have been here in the past and have a not had an issue like this before. We waited almost an hour for a table, which was not an issue really. However we then was seated in a very hot, uncomfortable back room where the thermostat read 84*. We asked to be moved outside and still again waited another 10 minutes at least. My husband decided to approach a manager and basically he said there was nothing he could do, just a busy Friday night. Well sir, that is unacceptable. Another manager came by and apologized to us, and comped us an appetizer. That was nice, but considering the bad service from the other manager, more could have been done. The wait staff is lovely and none of it is their fault. The waitress we had was very apologetic and kind. This is strictly a manager issue. To treat customers this way is horrendous, and to boot, snickers at us when leaving. We will never come back. read more
