Midway Auto Group does not stand behind their vehicles. Not long ago I purchased a Ford 350. I was told it was a solid truck, and even though the ABS warning light was on, there was nothing wrong with the brakes. A few days after I picked it up I took it to Princeton Diesel (best guys around for Ford PSDs) for an oil change and some basic diagnostics. I was shocked to learn the oil cooler was bad, the head gaskets were failing, and of course the ABS system was shorted out and not functioning. The total repair cost was over 5k. I contacted Midway and told them about the problems, sent them the repair invoice, and asked if they would be willing to cover 1/3 of the repair costs (an offer I considered to be more than fair). I got no help from them whatsoever. The only "advice" I got from them was that I should have demanded a pre-buy inspection on a vehicle they told me was solid. Well, here's my advice to everyone else. Don't buy from a company that sells diesels (or any other vehicles), that tells you they are good running autos, and then turns around and blames the customer when problems are discovered. read more

Within the first week the EGR Valve went out among other issues that cost me $1800 worth of repairs. A Ford mechanic stated that if the truck had truly been checked out by a reputable mechanic, the issue would have been caught. Purchased an F250 in Feb 2016. By August 2016 all 4 of their new tires failed in under 9000 miles. When I called, I found I was talking to the owner, and I asked him where I could get them warrantied at, I was told no where. They buy them "wholesale". They wouldn't tell me where they got them from. I tried to search the web, and the closest place I could find that sold that brand (Americus) was NTB. They wouldn't do anything with them since I wasn't the original purchaser. I've had to spend over $2000 already on new ball joints and tires on a vehicle that had an alleged "clean" history and was checked out to be mechanically sound. When it was in the air getting worked on, I saw a couple places that had body filler from sheet metal damage. This vehicle was obviously in a wreck, but I wasn't told about it. I'm waiting to see what else fails on this truck that I was assured was a "solid" vehicle. Judging by the other comments of others being mislead, I can only assume our salesman grew a conscious and quit shortly after our purchase since he wasn't there to help with my issues. read more

Midway Auto Group rates zero stars!!! I purchased a 2009 Ford F-350 pickup truck from Midway Auto Group, 15300 Midway Road, Addison, Texas ,24 October 2017. Sean Amir and Mark Whitaker are the named Midway Auto Group officers with whom I conducted business during this purchase. The basis for my dispute with Midway Auto Group rests solely on the sale of subject vehicle to me without a Federally mandated catalytic converter/emission control system. Missing was the catalytic converter, particulate filter, muffler/tail pipe assembly and associated connectors and sensors. No notification of this condition was listed in the USAA Used Truck Buyers Service listing which you advertised the vehicle nor was I notified either verbally or writing by Midway Auto Group of this situation. Removal of this system is a violation of Federal law/EPA Clean Air Act and can carry a fine in excess of $25,000. The remedy sought is for Midway Auto Group to finance in full, the complete local (Southern Maryland e.g., Leonardtown Ford dealership or the one located in Waldorf, Maryland) re-installation of this system to include re-coding the ECM/PCM as appropriate and deletion of any aftermarket software to meet the original OEM specifications, enabling me to successfully pass Maryland State Inspection. This Leonardtown Ford dealership (Leonardtown, MD) is estimated at $7200. This remedy will also entail Midway Auto Group to reimburse me $129 for the initial Maryland State Inspection which I failed due to this missing system. I will initiate arbitration on 30 November per the signed Agreement to Arbitrate signed 24 October with Midway Auto Group,I have filed a formal complaint against Midway Auto Group with the Dallas branch of the Better Business Bureau and lodged a formal complaint with USAA Used Truck Buying Service both siting the above basis for this dispute. My remedy for the complaint lodged with the Better Business Bureau will be the complete re-installation of the missing emission control system and successful testing at Midway Auto Group expense. In the case of USAA, my remedy will be the black listing of the Midway Auto Group from the USAA Used Car Buying Services. Additionally, I contacted the Texas Attorney General and the EPA on this matter, lodging formal complaints with each. I have a good diesel mechanic looking at the vehicle now, and he thinks he can prove the codes have been adjusted. This is a good thing because I am an attorney and even though they include an arbitration contract in all their sales, that contract can be defeated when they intentionally alter vehicles. I can't say for sure if these guys are shady but it sure feels like it. Went in to purchase a car. Whole processed felt a bit rushed. I was taken out to the car, wasn't given any info about it, just kind of left to figure it out on my own. I now know why, but I'll get to that in a moment. Anyway, the whole negotiation process was smooth. My wife and I did our application and got a call the next day saying we had been approved for the price we wanted at a great interest rate. Apparently the sales person did us a favor and pulled some strings but it seemed too good to be true. Went back to sign everything and decided to take a second look at the car and test drive it. When I drove it, there was a strong smell of mold or mildew- Red flag #1. I waved it off, not really expecting a new car smell. When I got back to the dealer, upon further inspection, literally every metal part inside the vehicle was covered completely in RUST! Red flag #2. Not only that, the carpet was wet and smelled of strong mildew. I went and asked my sales person straight up had this car ever been flooded. He tells me no and points out the vehicle history report that states that it had never been in an accident and had a clean title. However, that could not be considered a strong confidence booster because the car had clearly been in an accident because there was sketchy body work on the front bumper. Nonetheless, we go outside with the manager to inspect the car. And after about five minutes of them trying to give me an excuse for every reason this car had clear signs of flood damage (the worst was they claimed the wet carpet was from having it cleaned however, having sat in it the day before, it clearly had not been cleaned and the wet substance smelled not like cleaning products but of mildew) the salesman finally says to all of these claims - "well I'll take $500 off the price". ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? $500 in exchange for hoping that I'll take your flood damaged car and be on my way? I think not. At that point I left promising to return with my mechanic but before I could get him there, he confirmed over the phone that a 3 year old car should not have that much rust on the interior if there was not water inside. I took my business elsewhere. However, whether these guys knew the real story behind what happened to this vehicle or not, I'm not sure. Whether they tried to cover up the flood damager or the previous owner, I have no clue and I won't accuse them of doing so. All I know is that when I brought up these facts, things got shady real fast. Based off of this experience and other reviews of them selling cars only to have damage later on, if you are in the market for a used car, don't take the cheap route out like I did by trying to go through one of these smaller dealers. Find a big named, family owned dealership. As much as I hate some of the sales tactics and no doubt sometimes they are just as shady, the chances of a situation like this occurring are much less. I visited Midway Auto Group showroom in Addison. I was excited because they had couple specific models that I was interested in. From the very moment I stepped into the showroom, I got the cold treatment. The sales person never bothered to introduce himself. I informed him that I would like to see specific cars, he did show me few cars. When I did find something I was interested in, I asked to test drive it. I could immediately sense he did not want me to test drive the vehicle "until I agreed on the price". I was so shocked that I did not bother to deal with them and left the showroom. The sales person contention was that they offer cars at wholesale prices. However, the cars I saw were NOT in pristine condition. Most had bumps, bruises, scratches and broken vents etc and would not be rated in the excellent condition category. I was lucky to find same model certified vehicle in excellent condition at factory dealer later in the week. I bought a better car (certified) at same price. It's amazing there are so many used car dealers around, why would someone in their right mind deal with an unfriendly and rude dealer like Midway Auto Group??? read more

I was having a Ok experience, but now its turned bad. First off, only one key was given with the truck they wouldn't budge on the price of my Tacoma, since I had my own financing, but it was still a good price. However after I picked up the truck I took it to get an oil change and inspection (since its used) to the Toyota dealership and was advised it can't pass inspection because the headlights are too dark and tinted and not bright enough. Then I went ahead and tried to take it to other shops Jiffy Lube, Thunder Tint, and Firestone and all of the state inspectors advised me the truck automatically fails due to the headlights. So at that point I contact Midway Auto regarding the headlight issue. I spoke with the salesman Ryan and initially was willing to help because we thought we just needed to remove some tint. But when I brought the truck in we discovered the headlights are not tinted, rather the lenses themselves are blacked out. He said he would have to speak with the owner Aamir. Owner never called me so I called him, and was a rude A**hole he just had an bad tone and argued with me. He thinks all the inspectors I went to are just trying to sell me things. He claims his inspector did pass inspection and he already did title work. I advised him his inspector probably either overlooked or just bypassed the fail because I've taken the truck to four different inspectors and they all failed it. I tried to be reasonable and offered to purchase the headlights myself and just asked him to help me at least install the good ones. Again he told me to just bring the truck to his guy and he'll get it to pass the inspection, but I told him I need the truck to pass at ANY inspection site. So he became frustrated and basically told me to eff off, tough luck, said the conversation was over, wished me luck, and to enjoy the truck. I asked him to at least send me his report so if I get pulled over I can at least show that to the officer and said he would email, but no one ever did. Be careful with this supposed "licensed" dealership. I understand mistakes happen, but when a dealership is unwilling to fix the wrong it becomes deliberate shaddy crap so I would recommend everyone to stay FAR away or use EXTREME caution. read more

Buyers beware!!! I purchased a Ford Escape from these guys back in 2015. The first negative is that they claimed that they couldn't allow me to use my capital one financing. They said the financing had to be through them. They wouldn't really negotiate with me, they barely took maybe $100 off the asking price. They didn't ask me if I wanted GAP, they just included it without telling me. The moment we finished the transaction the guy who sold me the car asked me if I could give them a good review on google right then and there on the company computer. I refused. But that's not even the worst part. So it is now 2018 and I'm trying to buy a new car at a different dealership. When I offer up the Escape as trade, I got a really nasty surprise. It turns out that the carfax shows that the Escape had "structural damage" from an accident that happened 02/2015. I bought the Escape from Midway on 10/15. They showed me a clean carfax. Midway mentioned nothing about this damage to me. If they had, I would never have purchased the car. I don't know if they tampered with the carfax or if they forged one. Either way, they never mentioned the damages. And yes I clearly asked if the car had ever sustained collision damage. So I am now basically screwed. I still owe on the Escape and the dealerships cannot offer me even close to what I owe. This is bad business and I am consulting with my attorney about recourse. Stay far away from this dealership. When purchasing a car, get your own carfax. Do not trust these guys to be truthful. I advise consumers to read the google reviews, you will see they have done this several times to other people. After receiving it, I found It needed a few repairs and Sean Amir (the owner) stated he would pay a very small amount to make up for a few items that the salesman originally stated it didn't need. I scheduled a test drive and asked if they would provide a car fax report and they didn't answer so I got one my self only to find out the car had been totaled only 4 months prior and it had serious structural damage when I told him I was no longer interested in that car I never heard back he didn't even try to sell me another car it's like he didn't care.. until 4 days later when he texted me again asking if I was still interested in the car.. like he had forgotten.. again I told him I wasn't interested and he still didn't try to sell me another car.. all in all it was hard to get a hold of them, they were not going to run a car fax report because they knew it would pull up the bad history, and don't care to sell other vehicles read more
