Stoped here on the way back from Galveston. A coworker recommended it. BBQ was good, nothing too fancy but good. Got the two meat plate and they give you more than enough meat. Brisket was thick cut and very tender. I would have liked a little more smoke but it was good. Same with the ribs. I was not impressed with the Mac and cheese but the BBQ beans were good. The staff were friendly and helpful. Based on the food though, Midway barbecue didn't stand out. I got the brisket and rib plate, and both meats were visibly dry and not looking very fresh. The brisket especially lacked any fat, and didn't have the tender quality I've come to expect from it. Came here with my best friend to try out the Brisket Millionaire Bacon sandwich. Once we got here everything on the menu looked so good. We also ordered the brisket Mac and cheese and the bread pudding. We were not disappointed!! Everything was so delicious. So glad we tried this place out. Great local comfort BBQ. Small town welcoming feel as was full of local workers and cops. I enjoy places like this. Sampled brisket and jalapeño and cheese sausage. Brisket wasn't a stand out but was on par with some of the great area briskets. Sausage was good but personally for me I thought there was too much cheese that overshadowed the meat. Today was my first time there and it was amazing and arrived at 11:28AM. I was greeted by a young blonde girl who was very friendly. The restaurant is very clean inside and they have awesome decorations all inside. The gentlemen behind the counter did a phenomenal job and were very fast and efficient. Everyone had a very friendly and positive attitude. I ordered a half pound of pork and beef sausage with a side of pork rinds. My server was named Desiree E and she made my experience wonderful by providing excellent customer service. She was friendly and professional. I would like to thank Midway Barbeque for being able to hire such amazing staff. Make sure to ask for Desiree when you visit because she is professional, courteous and will make your visit exceptional on top of the amazing tasting food. Y'all truly have an amazing asset to the restaurant, and I know she would make a great manager if she is not already one. Hopefully you are able to share these comments with the staff who were on duty today because they rocked!!!!!! The sausage was cooked perfectly and the flavor was delicious. It wasn't that lunch meat type either, the sausage had a course texture to it. I then had the pork rinds and the flavor was out of this world and they were not greasy or over cooked. Oh and I got some dill pickles that were very tasty along with some unsweetened tea. It was refreshing and very fresh unlike some places where the tea is stale. If you are reading this message do your taste buds a favor and head to this establishment before they close. You will not be sorry as I look forward to trying other items. *Caution* First time here. Don't care too much for spicy food. Didn't know I had to ask but the pulled pork automatically comes mixed with Habenero BBQ sauce. Overall not bad for the price but as they say, I wouldn't go out of my way. Classic story: Deer processing/Meat market opens a restaurant. Voila! Lean beef does not mean dry but here it was. Ribs were scrawny and tasted so-so. The pinto beans needed salt and the BBQ sauce reminded me of ketchup. The Jalapeño Cheese Sausage was the worst. I had my hopes way too high. It was very dry, too course, and frankly bland. Sorry to say. The potato salad was creamy and the way I like it, considering there are many ways to make it. This was my first visit and ordered the brisket baked potato. It was big and had a generous amount of brisket. The problem was that it was cold. I asked it they had a microwave, they just remade it. That was great customer service but the potato was a little warmer but the cheese still didn't melt. The brisket itself was better than average. I would go back but wouldn't go out of my way for it. The sauce was a bit bland, but that is so subjective I wouldn't give that opinion much weight. The prices were reasonable. They moved from the old address (5901 Hwy 90) over 2 years ago. 6025 Hwy Blvd is the new digits. It is now a stand alone building just on the other side of a bridge, a few feet away from the old address. Still plenty of dead things mounted on the walls of the new place. The woolly mammoth head was a particular favorite of the kiddos. Excellent customer service. They earned an extra star because of that. Worker knew it was my first time visiting the establishment. Had me to try different meats, made recommendations to ensure I ordered something to my liking. Same guy even sat by my table to see how my kids liked the food. When he heard one kid say they didn't want to try mac & cheese or the dirty rice, he asked if french fries would be better. Kids gave the affirmative, he brought out fresh fries free of charge. That makes you Katy proud! On to the food. The kids said the fries had extra seasoning on them and they wanted to eat them again. The BBQ sauce has a nice tang to it and is very enjoyable. Unfortunately, being from New Orleans, Mac & cheese, along with dirty rice, is going to be a hard sell for me! Neither item was bad here, but nothing to tell anyone that I know, with an eating background like mine, to come here just to try those sides. They are definitely edible though. The chicken had a good smoke flavor, but some parts were dry. Enjoyable with the good sauce none the less. The brisket was enjoyable, but the ribs were the best meat eaten today. Did not have to fight to get the meat off the bone, plus they had good size to them with plenty of meat. They do carry New Orleans own potato chips, Zapp's, in a variety of flavors. All in all, and enjoyable dining experience. I am interested in tasting the fried food items there. They have plenty of bbq sauce bottles around for you to add your perfect amount of sauce to your items. The first time we dinned in & had a good experience. We ordered a loaded baked potato with chopped beef & a sausage plate with beans/dirty rice. Everything was great! There was plenty of meat on the potato & just enough butter/sour cream & cheese the way I like it. The dirty rice was moist & good, but VERY spicy! So the second visit we walked in to do takeout & the person behind the counter was rubbing & scratching his face which is unacceptable! So we decided to order anyway & I wish we would have just left when we saw that. We ordered the same meaI as before but decided to get brisket on the plate instead of sausage. The baked potato was very dry with hardly any butter/sour cream/ cheese or meat in sight! The brisket was not trimmed well on the plate order & had a lot of fat on the meat...yuk! The dirty rice was very dry & even more spicy than the last time, so it had to be thrown out. I was so disappointed & couldn't believe the drastic change in the quantity/quality of the food in just two weeks. Also the sides that are put in the kid's containers, is not right. Y'all need to get out more and experience real bbq. Over smoked brisket with an unnatural (ham-like) flavor and sliced paper thin - this is an old trick to make tough meat edible. The sausage was so dry It is 5 minutes from being dried sausage jerky. Terrible service starting with Madison while ordering. Obviously not happy to be there, rushing the order and eye rolling. No need to ask for a to go box because your dine is is just that. Styrofoam, plastic and pre packaged store bought sides. Hard pass for me on returning. Came here after visiting a nearby dealership. Came by near the end of the day. Prices are a bit high, for instance, 1lb of beef brisket will run you $18. Sides are $5 each. The wait was long, but once they started getting our food together, they were pretty fast. Food was wonderful! Green beans and mac n cheese are the way to go!! 4 stars because there was a woman seemingly bossing folks around. She complained to use of how they were out of ribs, out of chicken, and so on. I felt that wasnt too professional. Don't talk down to your staff when it's busy! That would just make me go even slower. Anyway, great food and we will be back. Highly recommend! read more

We got our food and sat down. The food was room temperature. All of it. Brisket was not only room temp, but probably close to the driest I've ever had. Cold spots in my mashed potatoes, which were a very odd consistency. Obviously boxed but not prepared correctly. Cole slaw had an off taste, like it was old. Hubby's frito pie was also room temp, but tasted okay. We won't go back. There's too many other places in Katy to get mediocre food. Also, the decor is off putting. Dead animals everywhere. Wow this place is freakin good. Came here for a private event. The ribs, the brisket and the CORN. The creamed corn was probably the best creamed corn I've ever had. Pork shoulder had decent flavor, but was a little dry. Mac n Cheese and dirty rice were above average. Rest of group ordered the catfish and they've gave it thumbs up. Overall, the food is good and its close to my place, so I'll return. After my visit, I heard the fried porkchops are legit, so that'll be my order upon my next visit. The decor is fun.
