Stopped in for lunch and tried the brisket, sausage and chopped beef with a side of pork rinds and beans. The brisket was okay but oddly enough I preferred the sausage. I liked the texture of the chopped beef but it was a little too sweet for me. The pork rinds were fried to perfection with a nice airy crunch.

the gag is the brisket is dry. there's a leaky ceiling with a bucket under it in front of the bathroom. employees are nice but other than that this place is doodoo. and my food is cold within seconds because there's about a million fans going at once. no one is talking about the food tho cuz the bbq sauce has vinegar in it????? bro doo doo buns don't come here unless you wanna choke in front of some nice employees and guests. my dad got the turkey and it looked like something from the chum bucket in spongebob. like na

    2 Meat Combo

Was in the mood for a bbq baked potato and decided to stop by Midway. I got a 2 meat potato with brisket and pulled pork. I asked for everything on it, but the meat kinda overpowered the other toppings. I would recommend getting an extra side of sour cream, cheese, and chives like I did. The potato came with a bbq sauce which I wasn't a fan of really, the bbq sauce smells and tastes like marinara sauce. The pulled pork and brisket were a good combo for the potato, both very tasty. My sister got the 2 meat plate with ribs and chicken. The chicken was good but a bit dry. The ribs were good as well as the mac and cheese and fries. Our favorite part of the meal was the homemade cheesecake! It was delicious, we loved the graham cracker crust. This is a pretty solid bbq joint here in Katy. I would come back for a baked potato

    BLTA Potato

Oooo they upped their game. I had a new item called the BLTA for lunch today and it was delicious. Super fresh and yummy. Hope it is a permanent addition. The place is large with enough tables for everyone. Service was good and the food came out fast. Delicious and a good experience.

$26 of food. Mac & cheese disgusting.

How people pay hard earned money at this place is beyond comprehension. The chicken was dry...the turkey had so much pepper on it - it was inedible... And the mac & cheese, which I think came from a can, wasn't even hot. When I asked for them to heat it up... They took it, completely forgot about it and brought it back to me about 12 minutes later. Barely warm. $26 for this!!? Tables weren't cleaned off. There was no lemon. I think this place must've changed hands in the last year or so because there is no way this can be the infamous midway barbecue of Katy, Texas.

    Half chicken special! Allway perfect!

The service is great here, and the food is above the rest, top-notch, & daily specials! Where else can you go and get half a chicken, one side, and a drink for 12 bucks? This place has a great ambiance as well. Their baked potatoes... I challenge you to finish one! Can't go wrong at Midway!

    Looks good.

I always order beans and potato salad at every establishment as that is the benchmark staple in my opinion. If you can't master those sides I have no interest in any other sides you might offer. Legend tells the brisket is spectacular and I have to say it did not disappoint. The seasoning was traditional and bark was spot on. It was moist and succulent as you would expect for a $30 plate. It literally dissolved on the tongue. The sausage link was also moist and well flavored. Admittedly, I don't put a high value on sausage unless it is truly mind altering. It was a good sausage though. The pork ribs were my surprise disappointment. They were cooked well and had the appropriate tenderness and seasoning. The oddity of the flavor was an overwhelming taste of cleaning chemicals. The aftertaste wreaked of first cook after a serious deep clean/degreasing in the smoker without running a full smoke and heat cycle to reseason the smoker. The beans and potato salad were excellent. The beans were well flavored and smoky. They don't require a lengthy list of adjectives. They complement the meats extremely well. The potato salad also was excellent in its brand uniqueness. The cold, creamy texture balances the acidity of the smoked meats and pinto beans. I always find a great potato salad adds the balance to the spices, acids and smoke to round out the meal. I gave them four stars simply because I understand the nature of running a kitchen, smoker, etc and sometimes the schedule to put product out for the next day may cause staff to miss a step here and there such as making sure cleaning agents and their lingering odors are flushed from cooking apparatus'. All in all it was good food and the staff were friendly. I will visit again but I may skip the ribs next time.

After the 30 minute drive, I get there and don't see it on the menu. As I get to the front I figure it'll be okay, I'll get something else if they don't have it but I'll double check cuz I know I saw it on their website just a few days ago. Disappointingly, it is confirmed that they don't have it. Without glancing at the menu I try to go for my standard two meat plate of brisket and ribs... Turns out you can't get ribs as part of the two meat plate. Okay, I don't need to eat that much food anyway, just brisket with mac and cheese and their cornbread casserole. It's a counter service barbecue place this should take about 2 minutes... But it doesn't. We go find a seat and we wait, and we wait, and they finally call us to pick up our food. I take a bite of the mac and cheese. Delicious! My disappointment starts to fade and I get excited about the rest. A fork full of cornbread casserole... It's all right. Tasty but not as exciting as the mac and cheese was. Now it's time for the brisket. It's very tender, well cooked, looks like a nice bark, but not much flavor. Perhaps that sums up my experience, big expectations but not a lot of delivery. If you want some outstanding mac and cheese, give this place a try. If you're looking for barbecue, it's fine, on par with other places, but not worth a 30 minute drive from the city.

The spare ribs were completely overcooked, dry, and entirely inedible. The sausage was also quite dry. While the brisket was moist, the portion was incredibly small for the price--only 3 or 4 small pieces. To top it off, the beans were still hard and undercooked. As a first-time customer, I mentioned to the man working (who turned out to be the manager) that it was my first visit. He seemed like he didn't want to be there at all--no smile, no welcoming attitude, and he didn't bother to explain their point system. On a positive note, the lady who handed me my food was wonderful. She was friendly and took the time to explain the rewards system, which actually made me feel a bit better about the high bill. It costs a lot to eat out these days. I don't expect anyone to kiss my butt, but basic customer courtesy and edible food should be the bare minimum. Sadly, I won't be back.
