My burger was huge as well. Enough for me to have another meal. Flavor was definitely there. My only knock, and this is a personal preference, the bbq sauce was sweeter than I prefer. But that's it. I ordered the baked potato, my SO ordered a brisket plate. We got 2 drinks as well. The baked potato was good can't go wrong unless you burn it right? Could have used a bit more butter/sour cream as standard but it was really tasty. I liked that no seasoning had been added to it so I can tweak it to my specific preference but the salt shaker was empty on my table so maybe check those a bit more frequently and add some rice into them so the moisture doesn't make it sticky. The brisket plate was delicious hands down he got a moist cut and it was moist without being all fatty. The 2 sides were onion rings and the broccoli, rice and cheese those also were hands down phenomenal. Yeast roll smacked for sure. The moist end sliced brisket was really tender and tasty, the pork ribs were just as good and the jalapeno cheese sausage was very good. I came to Red River with my family today and my daughter ordered the grilled cheese. My family has gotten the same thing every time we come (every other week on average), this week the grilled cheese came out cold the cheese was literally not melted at all. Additionally the bread on the grilled cheese was the heel of the loaf. Red River put the heel side facing down on the cheese so you wouldn't notice unless you opened the grilled cheese which we did. I should not need a microscope to locate my dinner. If I'm paying $14-$15, the potato should at least be the size of my hand... not something that escaped the kids' meal tray. Did I not look hungry? I couldn't chew it.. I had to keep spitting the meat out into the napkins. Not sure what's going on with their beef sourcing, because this also happened with a hamburger where I couldn't chew the meat and I had to keep spitting it into a napkin. The macaroni was flavorless and dry. And somehow, while the french fries were soggy with grease with no crunch, they were also simultaneously flavorless and wet. The people were nice. It was clean and the TVs were cool, but I really don't know what to say about how bad the food was other than I won't be going back. My late husband's favorite place to eat. I ordered yesterday through the window. 1/2 lb of ribs a brisket child's plate and cobbler. The Bill was not cheap but I get home and no bbq sauce and the brisket was just a corner piece of hard bark no moist meat like I ordered. Could not eat the plate!! The food has changed and the menu has been updated. They really did a great job! We had ribs and a baked potato and it was fresh with great customer service. Now my only issue was I ordered a Lunch special potato with turkey instead of brisket and they charged me 2$. Now I personally think that's not right because it's 1 meat change with another meat. It couldn't have cost them any difference to change. Now the food came quickly and fresh. The customer service was top notch. We were checked on many times and offered whatever we needed. The ribs are freshly cooked, are nicely seasoned with a slightly sweet and peppery taste. They are well smoked and are very tender. The sides are also pretty good.
