Dog friendly taproom! We were welcomed by a warm and friendly host that graciously offered my corgi a treat. There were about 4 other dogs in the taproom situated by their families. Staff kindly offered us either a booth or a table and brought a bowl for my girl. Food can either be delivered, you can bring your own or they might have a food trunk come by (I heard). They were offering japanese tacos from Arrigato Market the time I went. It was disappointing for the price. They came wrapped in foil, flavor was lackluster and tortilla was oversaturated as if it was sitting in a steamer to keep warm until it was ordered. The only taco that slightly rose above the rest was the poke taco, but they request you limit your order to only 1 if you order 3. Beers were on the other end of the spectrum. Citrus, hoppy, malty, and roasted coffee all depending on what you tried. They offer flights served in a metallic dog bowl, which you can buy for your fur baby. I believe they host events like trivial nights to keep you entertained while enjoying libations and company. This place is great! The beers (im pretty sure we had them all) are amazing. They have a huge outdoor area and they keep people pretty separated...which is key. Their biggest flex...the staff. Each one more amazing then the last. So awesome. making you want to spend time and money and enjoy the place. This is one of our new favorites and we will definitely be back, often! Lake Street is a surreal street. As you go west from Ashland it becomes spottier and more rustic. Coming from the west you start to see Audis and higher end cars. Stop at Levitt and turn North to this beer oasis. This beer community center has about 12 pulls housed in a former garage with great curved ceilings and soft Bauhaus circular soft lighting with a simple well crafted bar top and black industrial high stools. All the beers are good and you can take home a growler, a sealed quart or a six pack. No food really but we did see people bring in a pizza. We even saw dogs. So on a hot - or cold day, come on in, pony up to the bar and relax with a beer flight. It will not disappoint. read more

Met a friend of a friend here and had a great time; low-key atmosphere with a close knit vibe. Even heard some of the beers were named after neighborhood-dog-regulars. The Bartender was a psychic and didn't miss, confidently suggesting what he thought we'd like. Everything I tried (Barrel Aged batch 100, West Town Brown, and Vertical Canine) did a lot for me. The only noteworthy dog friendly breweries I've found *near me are: Begyle (which is hard to find seating or parking), and Pilot Project Brewing (which only allows dogs on the outside patio). MIDWEST COAST BREWING is the best of both worlds: leashed dogs are allowed inside and there is plenty of seating/ parking. Downside: there isn't a patio. This place is clean and brand new as of this fall 2019. A couple things to note: pets must be leashed, and well-behaved (that goes for the humans, too). There is not a food menu yet but I did see that a food delivery option. Merchandise is also available for purchase. I've been here twice so far and each time the staff members have been helpful. The beer list includes: an IPA, saison, lager, red ale, and brown ale. I'm interested in seeing more experimental beers or fruit beers, and a food truck! I love this place! No food, but you can bring in outside food. And the beer is quite good! They generally have a wide selection of styles, so you're almost certainly goin to find something you like. The space is big with good separation of patrons because, you know, COVID. The outdoor space looks awesome, though I haven't sat out there yet. I love that dogs are welcome too. Hell, they even have spots for you to plug in your laptop if you need to work while you have a beer. Definitely a good time and I'll certainly be back! read more

This is a new gem that I can't wait to go back to! My roomies and I decided to do a brew tour and this was our first stop. We arrived when they first opened. Very nice space! We were able to get the flights of our choice and sit down to enjoy them on a rainy day. They have plenty of games to try! As well as a food menu (which we didn't try this time around, but will) and OUTLETS FOR YOUR CHARGERS. Game changer. Midwest Coast Brewing is a great addition to the Chicago craft beer scene! I went on a Saturday afternoon and was not disappointed. It is both dog and kid friendly, with a ton of board games to play- including cats vs dogs checkers (how cute is that??) There are a ton of charging ports and hooks to hang up your items- this is always something I look for in bars! Beers are awesome too- my boyfriend and I each had a flight so we were able to try almost all of their beers. They even have a great happy hour on Saturdays with food to purchase! COVID edition: this has become my happy place. Let's start with the fact that they're dog friendly. So whether you have a dog or you just like dogs this is the spot. Their tables are all socially distanced. They have an outdoor space. They have a small sign at each table that reads beer me when you're ready to be approached otherwise you'll be safely distanced from the employees here. It's genius. They also partner up with food trucks and they have live music on Thursdays weather permitting. Their flights come in a dog bowl and each beer in plastic cups because covid. Saw this place online and decided to give it a try as my friend has a new puppy and we wanted to go grab some drinks and this fit all of our needs! The place inside is super cute, but we decided to head out to the patio. The patio had a ton of space and tables, so even though there was a good amount of people there, we had no trouble finding a seat and were still spaced out. The beers were great and the flight that comes in a dog bowl is so cute! You can get food delivered, though we didn't try that option, but they do have some chips and pretzels which is nice if you just want something to snack on. What really made it great was the friendly atmosphere and the awesome staff. They were so laid back and were really great with the dogs. Obsessed with Midwest Coast Brewing, and what they've done to ensure a safe and comfortable drinking experience during this tough time! Came here on Friday with a group of six, and we were escorted to a large parking lot, with tables spaced well over six feet apart. Under the new mandate, that when interacting with any crew, masks must be worn, and they've created a genius system. Each table has a sign on it that when placed up let's the staff know you're ready for another round. This ensures that the table can get their masks on and be ready for when the server walks over. I thought it was very clever! As for the beer, I love a good IPA. I tried the Vaguely Stylish Stripes, which was delicious. Very hop forward, and tasty. But my favorite was the Elevator to Nowhere. Hazy, refreshing, and oh so smooth, with a slight bite at the end. I had to have a few of these! They don't serve food, but on the weekends they have a food truck OR you can always order food from a nearby spot to be delivered. Special shout out to Kelsey and Ryan, who made our experience 10000 times better!!! SO fun and attentive. We had a blast getting to know them. Highly recommend checking this place out. We recently had a birthday party for friends at Midwest Coast Brewing Company and it was a perfect experience. Everyone loved the beer and we had a great time. The manager very helpful and responsive when I was booking our event, the taproom was clean, and nicely decorated, we were able to bring in our own food. The staff was attentive and helpful during our event. I would highly recommend MIdwest Coast Brewing to anyone, you wont be disappointed. We'll definitely be back. Awesome brewery and tap room! Great variety of beers, not just a grouping of IPAs is which has been the fad for too long if you ask me. Tried the saison, helles lager, and a wheat beer and they were all really good. Staff were attentive and friendly, and explained the different beers they had on tap as well as a collaboration they have with Finch. Super dog friendly as well, even their logo is a dog, so I'll definitely be bringing the pup along next time as well. She'll love those cold concrete floors inside and the nice patio outside! read more

New brewery located just a few blocks west of the Chicago Brewery District area, or actually may just say it's part of it at this point. Nice pleasant dog friendly brewery (though when they all go off baring at something look out) They have plenty good beers and a wide variety to choose from. I got the Vertical Canine, Two Rivers and Golden Bro, liked them all. The bartender was very nice and cool. Lots of seating, at the bar, and booths and tables. No food served but you can bring it in. Plenty of nearby free parking, as with the rest of the district. Honestly one of my preferred breweries of the district. Hope to be back soon. read more

This review is long overdue, but after having an issue with getting double charged during my first visit, I decided to give Midwest Coast a second chance... and I'm so glad I did! Not only did they correct the issue that I brought up (which I thought was handled wonderfully), but this place has great tasing beer & an awesome interior. It's modern/industrial, yet, cozy & I know my pup is always welcome! It's a place you could come for a lot of different reasons: to hang out with people, a casual date night (after dinner or bring take-out with you) or even come during a quieter time to get some work done (breweries are the new coffee shops, right???). Last time I went, we also ordered pizza given that the place is BYOF. Finally, the place is veteran-owned, which is great to see. They have a sick OCP ball cap that I picked up and wear all the time (part of proceeds go to Chicago Veterans). Will be back. read more

Super happy this place was not on a radar, it made for an even better surprise as we were headed to the West Loop looking for some safe outdoor seating (with our kids). I had no idea about this brewery, it is now added to our list. They have a nice indoor and outdoor space. Normally, this would be great. During COVID this was still great. Outside was well spaced and they took everything very seriously. Now, beer, they had several nice ones on tap. For me in the hot summer I need my IPAs and hazies, they had both an imperil and NE style which was perfect for the evening. There was enough space outside that when our kids did get antsy they could run around just a bit. They do not have food on site (just some small snacks). You can order in from anywhere.
