Great beers, great vibe. Love how there's plenty of seating, bright lighting, and the music isn't too loud so you can actually hear and catch up with your friends. Got the Ride or Die pale ale and Here & There hefeweizen. Both hit the spot! Logistically, you can call in advance to make a reservation for larger parties. They also have a BYOF (bring your own food) policy which is great when you can't decide what to eat with your friends. Great place if you want to grab a beer. The beers are decent. They have seltzers as well if you don't like beer. They don't have any food but they sometimes have food "pop-ups" during certain times where you can order from a limited menu. They have games available if you want to play while you drink. Bar service is great. We also did the tour but I do not recommend. It was $15 and we did get 3 full size beers which was fantastic. Our tour guide was not the best, which made it difficult to enjoy. Small brewery so there is not much to see on the tour. Also you have to wear closed toe shoes on the tour or else you cannot go! Definitely not my favorite brewery in Chicago, but it is still a cool spot to hang out. read more

Another craft brewery this time in Logan Square close to coffee shops and fancy expensive stuff so it fits in around here. Hopewell has lots of good beers which are mostly IPAs. It has a pretty cool atmosphere with long tables. Cafeteria style is what it can be called. The beers are the only think to drink or eat here because they have no food but you may be able to bring it in from outside. I came with my cute date to try some of this beer. Quite a few interesting choices among the relatively few number of drafts. This isn't a massive place. Expect that draft lists may be limited. The prices are kind of high too. I had the Wild Table beer. It's $10 for a pint. That's a lot even for a craft brewery so it's hard to be happy about that. Being a good beer kind of helps. This is a table strength fruity saison. It's blended with some Wild Ale. The rest of the beers sounded good too. A food menu does not exist. If you want food there might be a pop up inside so check ahead when they will be here. Seems like a good place for groups, there were people there playing board games and it looked like another group had brought their own food to eat. There's also bar seating for smaller parties. I tried the lupo lager called And Now, which was compared to a west coast IPA. It was really good! I loved everything...but the beer. I know, I was surprised too, as I was pretty entranced by the laid-back vibe, communal tables, cool glassware, and natural lighting. My friend and I ordered a flight of several hoppy beers, and the ingredient I tasted most was water. Did I just come on a bad day? Should we have done something heavier? Hopewell is ridiculously rad, and I already can't wait to come back... even though I just experienced my first visit within the last few days! A friend and I were walking down Milwaukee late one Thursday night after taking a paint-and-sip class a few doors down when we noticed the gorgeous simplicity of Hopewell Brewing. Neither of us hesitated to go inside for a nightcap, and I gotta say, we both made a glorious decision to do so! We sat at the bar at around 10:10 or so and were greeted by the bartender right away. She put menus down in front of us and I asked if this was the type of brewery where we're allowed to order food to be delivered. She said absolutely, however, since they closed around 11 there's a risk of it getting delivered after closing time. She still gave us a list of places to stop by afterward should we want to eat, which was super helpful! My friend and I each ordered 20 oz pours: I can't remember what she got, but I chose a pilsner called One Night Only, and I'm definitely going to recommend that to you if you're reading this and want a light-colored beer option! I just really loved the ambience in here and the color scheme. I also asked about tours and learned that anyone can come in for their Saturday tours, which start at 5pm. Each tour is ten bucks, lasts 45 minutes, and includes two beer tastings. Private tours can be arranged, too. Fun! I can't wait to come back already! read more

Great new brewery in Logan Square! Hopewell is such a great addition to the 'hood with their great beers, chill yet clean atmosphere plus board games galore to pass the time. Their seats aren't the most comfortable around but they get the job done. They sometimes have food trucks or other food places come in to sell some of their goods - watch their Instagram to keep up to date. Beer Me. ~All Hope Kettle Sour 3.5/5- I love a good sour beer. The more you make my lips pucker, the more I'm into you. This isn't crazy sour but it's their Farm and Family Saison with a sour twist to it. ~Endgrain Dark Lager 2.75/5 - I'm not into lagers at all so this lager getting nearly 3 bottlecaps from me means it's one of the good ones. ~24:37 Red IPA 3.5/5 - Loved this beer! ~Farm and Family Saison 3/5 5.9% - Very solid farmhouse. Light flavors but strong enough to give it a ~Swift IPA 3.5/5 6.5% - seems to be their signature beer and was solid in my eyes. ~First Lager 3/5 5% - Another good lager from Hopewell. Based on my time at Hopewell, I think they have a really good beer line up. I think they make above par lagers and everything else is right on par. One of my new favorite spots!! They've got great beer for a good price, and it's an amazing space to spend a couple hours. I came with a friend after dinner on a Saturday night, and I was so impressed! It's got a great atmosphere. You can get either full beers or flights, and there was only 1 beer out of 12 my friend and I sampled that we weren't fans of. They've also got an AWESOME selections of games to play. I love, love, love when bars have a selection of games, and I was really happy that they had a wide variety. A lot of times, the only games available are big party games, where you need more than 2 people to play. Here, they've got a ton of 2 player games, like connect 4, scrabble, and guess who. Hopewell has a small kiosk with a bunch of menus and contact info for places in the area that deliver. Great idea! You can't order food here, but you can bring your own or have it delivered. We were lucky to be here and catch a popup by Cheese, Sex Death. OMG CHEESE. Make a note of that, and if she comes back to Hopewell - GO! Come here anyway for the beer. Walked in after visiting the Logan Square Arts Fest for a drink. We came in with empty plastic glasses that I went to throw away before ordering some more drinks and food. Shortly before we got our drinks, a manager came over to us and said we weren't allowed to bring outside drinks and that we would have to leave. Even after specifying that I had only thrown away empty glasses and that I had already paid for additional drinks from the establishment, the manager still refused to budge. What? I've never heard of someone refusing additional business over an issue that didn't even happen in the first place! The fact that the manager didn't even want to listen left a terrible taste in my mouth. My guess is it was just an excuse to cover up racism. Highly recommend skipping this place. Great dog friendly breweries are so rare in Chicago, and this is place fits the bill! Food delivery kiosk for Mini Mott is located in the taproom! Sours, IPAs, and Saisons. Crisp atmosphere with communal seating. My favorite is the Clover Club (6.2% raspberry and gin botanical sour-- refreshing, light, deep pink). The Fun Punch (6.2% mango and passion fruit sour) is overpowered with a tart, dry taste with a brownish color. I also tried the Clique (6.5% Brut IPA with a bone dry finish), which was not my favorite due to the finish taste. I love that we found this place. The taproom is clean and crisp, just like the beer. But I focused on what I came in for - to try the beer and catch up with my friend. I started with the seasonal Aces brew and thought it was good but then moved to the Revival Cafe Saison and it was awesome. A new favorite for sure. The only nit I have is that the service seemed a little lackluster. You sit down in what looks like a high school cafeteria with some friends and enjoy thier large beer collection. Nothing fancy here. It's places like this that make it seem so easy to start a brewpub. I knew I should have done it years ago when I was brewing. Of course I did my usual and got a flight of everything. And unfortunately no one beer stood out. Many of the IPAs tasted the same, and some of the other beers just were too watered down *(bland). I thought the service was a little unfriendly, more like just trying to serve beer than to tell you about them and see what you like. Beers we tried were good but not in the top tier in my book. Outside Voice pale ale was Ok, Swift IPA good but far from great, several of the crew enjoyed the Clover Club raspberry sour enough to take home a 4 pack. Didn't make it out to the west side often when I lived in Chicago, but stayed with a friend in Logan and finally got to check Hopewell out. And I'm very glad I did! All of the beers were awesome, but I especially loved their flagship IPA and their Midwest lager. The bartender was attentive and let us try as much as we wanted. we were able to order in Thai food and play some board games while catching up! There's a kiosk inside where you can order food as well if you don't want to do it independently. Another HUGE bonus: they're dog friendly and we were able to see lots of cute pups while enjoying our brews. read more

Tried a couple breweries the other day and would have to say Hopewell was the worst of the three. I've had one or two Hopewell beersbefore and thought ok, but nothing to blow me away. We had the oktoberfest beer and it was fine but there were so few other beers we were interested in trying. A lot were pale ales or IPAs. I know IPAs are all the rage right now in the craft beer scene but there are plenty of beer lovers that don't want to burn our tastebuds with bitterness. The venue itself didn't really have a ton of character, just seemed more like a storefront with long tables on the interior. The plus side is that it's indoors and still dog friendly and we did see a couple dogs being super well behaved while their owners had beers. With so many high quality breweries around, I probably would opt for elsewhere. read more

I stopped in with a couple friends on Saturday, which happened to be Hopewell's birthday, so the place was pretty busy. It's a moderately sized space, but the large windows and natural light make it feel bigger. We managed to find some seats, and tasted some of their beers on tap. Hopewell Brewing is an absolute delight and perfect addition to Logan Square. It's a perfect spot to check out after the farmer's market, and even better on a nice day. The windows in the front completely open up, letting in plenty of sunlight and fresh air. The flight is a perfect way to sample 6 beers, and the bartender labels each beer so you can keep track of which one you're tasting. I love that this bar is dog friendly and has a collection of board and card games. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there is a mahjong set. Such a fun way to spend an afternoon! read more
