First Choice Fitchburg's environment and equipment seems to be frozen in the 1980s. The hygienist's chair had tufts of stuffing hanging out and the xray machine looks to be a hold-over from the Soviet era. If I wasn't so happy with staff, I'd be concerned that the run-down office reflected a lack of concern for patient care. 5 plus stars for staff: Abby is a fantastic dental hygienist and David Gundersen's skills are top-notch.

The waiting area was warm and inviting, I already felt comfortable. I was a few minutes early so enjoyed catching up on the news. My first visit was two hours, x-rays, exam, & cleaning. My hygienist Carla was outgoing, detailed, & made me feel at ease. Doctor Kathy was very friendly, thorough, genuinely seemed to care along with being very down to earth. I am happy to say that I have found an amazing practice here at affiliated dentists. The process to book, check in, and get my check up was seamless, efficient and very pleasant! The staff is super nice and with the ability to fill out forms online the check in process is ridiculously easy. Sit down in their chairs and their tech is not only some of the best I've ever seen, but the amenities are awesome! From massagers in the chairs to Tvs on the walls to sunglasses for when they shine lights in your face to see your pearly whites, this place is awesome. I don't know if I've been to a better dentist and for the first healthcare experience in Wisconsin, but really, for a dental experience in general this place is great and definitely has my business:) Happy teeth cleaning! You can schedule online or the old fashioned way (phone). Their offices are on the near west side on Odana Road and easy to get to with plenty of parking. Their offices are soothing and comfortably lit--good for the whole family. My dentist and her team are very knowledgeable, welcoming and did not deride me for not getting more regular dental care. My initial visit - - and some fillings later - - proceeded on time, efficiently and successfully with no pain. I was particularly impressed with how well my dentist and her hygienists worked together as a team. Pretty impressive and it is clear that they know what they're doing and know what they are doing together and are on the same page. Confidence inspiring. When I arrived was warmly greeted and filled out a couple of questions on a laptop by the front desk. I only had to wait a couple minutes before I was taken to the back to see Dr. Angie. She was kind, gentle, and explained everything she was checking for and addressed any questions I had. She definitely took it any stress I had about coming in. Afterwards I saw my hygienist and left with a nice little welcome gift. What I really liked was how kind everyone was and how they explained everything to you. Plus each hygienist has their own little "cubby" with a window and bird feeder. *it's the little things*. They also provide you with plastic safety glasses and my hygienist even had tinted ones! After my first appointment though, I am (mostly) not dreading my follow up appointment! The building itself is straight out of Better Homes and Gardens magazine, very comfortable and clean with obvious aesthetic appeal that made me look at my own home decor in envy. They have a very comfortable waiting room with some fun things for anyone who might have some nervous kids - or adults who are kids at heart. The staff was very easy to talk to and professional. They answered my laundry list of questions, some of which probably toed the line on what is and what is not their actual responsibility. Special thanks to Sky who helped me feel calm and at home as we watched a cooking show on the tv above the patient chair (nice!). Lastly, the complete transparency during checkout was really a huge selling point. They showed me a complete breakdown for my follow up appointment so that I could make adjustments as needed and avoid any awkward sticker shock conversations. Thankfully, my insurance covered most of my appointments, but I know that is not always the case for everyone; the transparency during scheduling is telling of their business model! But Dr. Kaveh blew my mind today. I was in a bike accident a few days ago and smashed up my face pretty badly (in the hospital for a couple of days). He and his team saw me as soon as I got out, and they were so much gentler than the dentist at the hospital as they inspected and did X-rays. They also set me up with an oral surgeon. THEN Dr. Kaveh met me at the oral surgeon's office to make sure everything went smoothly, and I'm so glad he did because although the surgeon did a good job, he didn't know me and wasn't as good at answering my questions as Dr. Kaveh was. ALSO Dr. Kaveh then met me back at home and helped me get my retainer in, which I was scared to do and it did hurt going in but it has made my mouth feel so much better since.
