I had a great experience with Irene Torres. I got bit by a dog just above my lip. I had to get 7…read morestitches. I was very worried about getting them taken out because I know it can be very painful because I knew how tight the stitches were and how sensitive the area was. I went in to get them removed, and she told me originally to wait another day or two, but when I told her how concerned I was about who did it, she called me back to tell me that she had contacted the other NP that would be there that day to ask her how she felt about removing the stitches, and she didn't feel comfortable doing it. Irene researched the amount of time needed to leave the stitches in to make sure it would be ok to remove them that day, and said that I would be fine to come back that day while she was there. It showed how much she truly cares about her patients. She did an excellent job with the removal, and I had very little pain. I was so relieved to have them out, and it's still healing up nicely. Irene has years of experience, is very kind and does a great job. CVS is lucky to have her! Thanks again!

Maybe a veteran or witch Dr. I went there with a bad sinus infection. Told Charles several times I had a bad sinus infection and guess what. He gave me blood pressure med and tylenol #3 w/codeine. How is this going to help with a sinus infection? He said to come back in the afternoon if this doesn't help. Well guess what? He said in the afternoon because another Dr. was on duty. The other Dr. was Jason Ransom. He knew right away I had a bad sinus infection and gave me antibiotics and eye drops. When I asked him about Dr. Clagett he said he was a little slow (nice way of putting it that he doesn't know much). Now I am being charged twice!! Once for the Dr. that doesn't know much, and once for the Dr. that knows lots. Hope this review helps others.

My health care provider Tiffany Orange has shown me today that Franciscan is unseemly place I could've chosen for my mental health. The 1st time I was there I was given a test on a clip broad and told to answer the questions (admittedly I should've read the instructions at the top before I begun answering the question but I didn't) I based my answers off of how I felt that day. Today I was given the same paper by a student in college that was suppose to be learning from Tiffany. Before he gave it to me he said "answer these based on how you felt within the last 2 weeks. So I did just that and my numbers where very different from the pervious time took it. This is because I wasn't thinking about how I felt in that very second like I was last time, this time I thought about how I'm generally feeling. So since my numbers were so different Tiffany saw it to be appropriate to say "is your medicine not working anymore or where you just lying on the last test because they were all 0s". I tried to explain that I hadn't followed the same instructions as last time, but I couldn't get a word out. With all of that she said that she had come to the "professional opinion" that I need to " go see a psychiatrist, because I have deeper routed issues than she can help with". She ended my appointment by slamming the door, and asking another woman to rush me out of the building.

The folks at the emergency room drew blood for testing, took x-rays, and gave my wife a pain shot (their solution when they couldn't isolate the cause of the problem). Later that same morning, I took my wife to Dr. Samalio. My wife described her pain, and Dr. Samalio noted that the particular nerve that controls sensation in the stomach was located in a certain vertebrae. He proceeded to treat my wife's back. Within thirty minutes, the pain had subsided completely. Not only does Dr. Samalio treat for pain and discomfort, he also teaches his patients exercises that they can do at home to reduce pain and stiffness. Dr. Justo Samalio is a terrific doctor, and I HIGHLY recommend him!

Other walk-in clinics I have used do not charge a facility fee. Perhaps because this one is located in a hospital they justify it, but this is no ER and the consumer should not be similarly upcharged. I called the billing dept at 983-8300 and was told things like taking my height, weight, and blood pressure go towards the facility fee and this location is considered one step down from an ER. I call BS. It's services are no different than other extended hour clinics. I'll pay my bill, but will not return to this expensive location.

This time they dutifully asked who our primary care physician is which sounds nice for continuity of care. But, wait, no they won't send the info to our doctor. Our doctor has to send them a request and then we would have to sign a release of info. And then I guess they would finally divulge the info at some time in the future. Most places ask who your doctor is and you just request that the info be sent to them and it's done. Not here; continuity of care is not in their vocabulary. This is an unnecessary inconvenience and they need to get with the times! So go for the care but it won't be easy to get the info sent to your primary care dr.
